Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the integration.""It is a seamless and sophisticated tool.""One of the most valuable features is that it's a simple development. It takes a short time to get services to work.""The solution is very scalable. It can handle a lot. We have encryption plus integration servers running on that platform currently.""The OSGI console is available to debug different issues and get low level informations on the applications development, like bundle, dependencies, etc.""I work in operations, so I value BusinessWorks' performance the most.""The most valuable features are the stability and the time to market.""We use the solution to develop applications."

"Kofax RPA's best feature is its high success percentage in picking up information from documents, especially where the DPI is really low.""It is very simple and easy to learn compared to any other RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism.""Provides valuable tools working in integration with RPA tools.""The product saves time and resources.""Kofax handles UIs via the browser well. If it's not possible, they have other features like modeling screen scrapes, etc.""The product provided all the security controls that we asked them.""The solution is scalable.""It is stable and scalable."

Cons
"They don't support out of the box - you have to buy adapters or you have to have the technology.""Scaling with the solution is costly because if we need to scale up, we have to buy more memory. That means more money. Solutions like Camel or Pulsar come with built-in options to scale horizontally, vertically, region-wide or country-wide.""There are multiple plugins which increase the number of product installations.""I would like the solution to be integrated into the cloud.""The container-based image is too large and this makes auto-scaling difficult.""A possible improvement could be to give the capability to use different profiles for each AppNode when an application is deployed on an AppSpace.""The technical support's turnaround time is an area where TIBCO needs to consider improvements...Getting support from TIBCO on a particular issue takes a lot of turnaround time.""The cost of this product is too expensive for smaller companies or those with a small number of integrations."

More TIBCO BusinessWorks Cons →

"The solution could use some AI integrated features.""Automation with the latest websites is not effective. The support of newer websites developed using new technologies would improve this solution.""Its documentation is not widely available on the web. They should work on the availability of its documentation. In Automation Anywhere, there is a feature called Discovery Bot that automatically records the process steps and suggests a possible bot. I am not sure if such a feature is available in Kofax. If it is not available, it will be very good to have this feature. ""The scalability has room for improvement.""We are on version 10.6, and the current version seems to be 11. Kofax is cycling the capabilities of the product very quickly. One of the difficulties has been to actually keep up with the capabilities as they've evolved. On the one hand, it is good that the product is getting better, but on the other hand, it is difficult to implement the best way with a product that is evolving constantly.""The technical support must be improved.""The product needs more AI capabilities.""The product should improve desktop automation, which is hard to configure. It needs to have custom connectors. It is the only advantage that Microsoft Power Platform has over Kofax RPA. It has more than 800 custom connectors."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "My understanding is that the licensing is very costly."
  • "It is a bit expensive for medium-sized companies. If you are migrating from the current version to the container-supported version, it is quite expensive. The existing licensing will not work because the product platform itself is different."
  • "Its price policy has changed quite a lot in the last two years. It was extremely expensive previously. Nowadays, you can buy a license for BusinessWorks for €2000. Looking at what you get in return in terms of support, TIBCO community, and stability, it is fairly reasonable. It is not too expensive."
  • "I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
  • "Licensing scheme is too rigid"
  • "I don't have the prices of the products, but I know that TIBCO is not a cheap solution. I think that this solution is more suitable for large companies because I don't think that small- or medium-sized companies would have the money for this solution. WSO2 has the community version for free, so many of the smaller companies can use it. I'm not sure what the prices are for support, though, so I suppose the support for WSO2 is not cheap either."
  • "The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
  • "I give the cost of the solution a four out of ten."
  • More TIBCO BusinessWorks Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
  • "Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
  • "I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
  • "Its pricing is reasonable given the product capabilities. Kofax has a wide range of products, and it can sometimes be confusing to understand which capabilities come with which product set. One of the key facets that we've been looking into recently is cognitive document recognition that was a core pile of some of their other technologies such as Kofax transformation modules (KTM)."
  • "Kofax's prices are pretty reasonable."
  • "There is a standard license needed to use Kofax RPA and the price is reasonable."
  • "Kofax RPA is moderately priced but expensive in comparison to UiPath and Power Automate."
  • "I give the price of the solution a six out of ten."
