Find out in this report how the two Server Virtualization Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The initial setup is easy."
"The feature I find most valuable, is its performance"
"What I find most valuable in Citrix Hypervisor is its licensing policy, because you'll get it for free if you buy a Citrix XenDesktop license. You don't need to spend additional money on the Citrix Hypervisor because you can manage both the Citrix XenDesktop and the Citrix Hypervisor with just one license, so you can save on cost. I also like that the solution is good support-wise. Hardware support is also faster compared to other solutions."
"Citrix is easy to use and is stable."
"The support for this solution is phenomenal."
"The solution's security is its most valuable aspect."
"Citrix Hypervisor is simple to use."
"The ability to move a virtual machine while it is running is a big advantage."
"This solution creates a snapshot of virtual machines so you can create test environments."
"The configuration and installation is pretty straightforward."
"It's very simple to use."
"It's a pretty good product in terms of monitoring."
"I like that Oracle VM is safe and stable. It is also very easy to administer. For example, opening a VM or adding a host adapter is extremely easy."
"Oracle VM VirtualBox is easy to use."
"The installation is easy."
"The pause feature is valuable. I can pause, which is something that not all hypervisors allow. The snapshot feature is also valuable."
"The solution needs better backup facilities that are available for virtual machines to create servers on."
"Assigning the order of virtual server startup is not very easy and this can be improved."
"The solution is too expensive and people are kind of moving away from Citrix. It's starting to become a problem. It is a primary reason that while we are rebuilding we're going to seek out open-source solutions."
"The interface has to be updated."
"Integration with other vendors and other applications could be improved."
"I am not very sure about how flexible Citrix Hypervisor is with different types of infrastructures. I only know it is flexible with Nutanix, but I am not sure if it is also flexible with others. They can make its integration with other platforms or OEMs easy. They should also make it easy for users to manage their infrastructure. Citrix should make compatibility information related to a hypervisor easily available in a datasheet. Citrix isn't really recognized in this part of the world, and they need to expand their solution and make it more available. There are a lot of customers and companies that are looking for a solution like Citrix, and it should be available in this part of the world. They need to educate people more. Technically, it is good and flexible and has good ability, but it is not as much known as VMware or Microsoft. Their support should also be improved. Currently, if you don't have an updated version, they will not give you the attention."
"You need a licensed account to look up technical support."
"The main problem with Citrix Hypervisor is getting readily available backup solutions for it. It would be wonderful if Hypervisor were better integrated with third-party backup solutions."
"The product lacks scalability since it is for desktops and not for servers."
"The solution should work to simplify the system. However, it should be flexible enough to allow for special cases."
"I find the solution to be incredibly unstable, constantly falling over and not working properly."
"We're working with them to be able to allow the local USB ports to be ported over to the remote desktop, running VirtualBox."
"It could improve slightly with enhanced reporting capabilities that show the current status of the network."
"Oracle’s support team should improve its response time."
"The solution should have more enterprise features, like migration, high availability storage, disaster recovery, and the ability to deploy to enterprise-scale usage. They should not just offer desktop usage."
"Having live migrations to move a running server to other hardware would be great."
