A stable solution that is useful for integration purposes and requires an easy initial setup
Pros and Cons
  • "Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten…On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy, I rate the initial setup a nine."
  • "Though it is a stable product, if we have an issue with the product, it gets difficult, and it gets really difficult to explain the issue to the support team. Also, it takes a long time to get resolved."

What is our primary use case?

Since it is an integration platform, we use it for integration purposes in our company.

How has it helped my organization?

Previously, we had a distribution integration system with lots of platforms. We wanted to centralize everything so that we could keep everything on a single platform since it makes it easier to manage the solution.

What is most valuable?

Feature-wise, TIBCO BusinessWorks already has a new release, and it is TIBCO BusinessWorks Version 6.

What needs improvement?

In the next release, I would like to see the solution having the bucket as an addition.

Pricing is an area that can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using TIBCO BusinessWorks for thirteen years. I am a customer of the solution. Currently, I am using TIBCO BusinessWorks Version 5.13.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten. Since the solution is not a web-based interface, we have around 300-400 users using it in our company. The usage of the solution was being increased all over the years. Now, it will increase if it's a normal year. If COVID-19 strikes again, it will decrease.

How are customer service and support?

I rate the technical support a five out of ten. Though it is a stable product, if we have an issue with the product, it gets difficult, and it gets really difficult to explain the issue to the support team. Also, it takes a long time to get resolved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, I was using a solution, and I switched to TIBCO BusinessWorks because of the good internal architecture.

How was the initial setup?

On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy, I rate the initial setup a nine.

The deployment process for the solution took a week's time, and it was done ten years ago. Since it was a simple deployment, only three people were required to deploy it. The people involved in the deployment work are from the infrastructure and product teams.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The payments made for service are the only addition to the standard licensing fees that we pay for the solution.

What other advice do I have?

My suggestion to those planning to use the solution is that they define a service architecture because it is not a part of the product. Also, the solution's potential users should try to implement a framework for extra functionalities.

Keeping in mind TIBCO BusinessWorks Version 5, I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

The solution is stable, high-performing, and competitively priced
Pros and Cons
  • "I work in operations, so I value BusinessWorks' performance the most."
  • "The communication protocols could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

I work mostly in telecommunications and use BusinessWork for job processes. It's primarily used for orchestration and transformation from one language to another, whether you're using HTML, XML, etc.

What is most valuable?

I work in operations, so I value BusinessWorks' performance the most.

What needs improvement?

The communication protocols could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have nearly 10 years of experience with TIBCO products, including TIBCO BusinessWorks and TIBCO Enterprise Management Service.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

BusinessWorks is highly stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

BusinessWorks is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I think TIBCO's frontline support isn't good, but you can escalate the ticket to the second level if it is during their working hours.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up BusinessWorks is complex because we have multiple active-active sites for high availability and disaster recovery. Deployment takes about three days and involves two or three engineers. We register a domain and deploy messaging components like Huawei and EMS and finally, the CRM.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

BusinessWorks is competitively priced. It's a good deal.

What other advice do I have?

I rate TIBCO BusinessWorks eight out of 10. It's the middleware solution I recommend for any organization that needs one.

User-friendly and has good scalability options
Pros and Cons
  • "It is user friendly, it's not complex."
  • "They don't support out of the box - you have to buy adapters or you have to have the technology."

What is our primary use case?

BusinessWorks is the regional and official software of the company.

What is most valuable?

In terms of valuable features, it has transformation, change, and other features.

It is user-friendly, it's not complex.

What needs improvement?

In terms of improvement, for our requirements, it's good enough. Everything that we like to do, we can find it available on the platform.

Features that could be improved are its transformation matrix; the support for other communities. They don't support out of the box - you have to buy adapters or you have to have the technology.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using TIBCO BusinessWorks for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In terms of stability, we don't have any serious issues so far.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I think the scalability of TIBCO BusinessWorks is very good. We have about 90 million messages per day. They intend to increase usage because sometimes during peak hours all the resources are being used.

How are customer service and technical support?

I'd describe technical support as average. Average to superior, because they are not excellent. Sometimes they take time to read the overall issue. Overall they are great.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not complex. It took around 2 to 3 weeks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

So far there have not been any other costs besides the standard licensing fees.

What other advice do I have?

My advice would be that they don't go with TIBCO 5 but to go with TIBCO 6. TIBCO 6 is richer in terms of integration technology and has more modern architecture.

On a scale of 1 - 10 I'd give TIBCO BusinessWorks an 8.

Completely reliable with good performance and stability
Pros and Cons
  • "Good performance and reliability."
  • "Could be more user friendly in the development area."

What is our primary use case?

This product is useful for all aspects of corporate integration. Our front-end channel does not have B2B connections to the legacy systems; it's all done by TIBCO which presents services that do the communication between the different applications of our architecture enabling direct links to the different applications.

What is most valuable?

Performance and the stability are both good features. We are a bank and it's very important to be able to keep track of things. Reliability is key and that's what TIBCO provides.

What needs improvement?

I'd like to see a more user-friendly solution in terms of the development area.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

We've had good experience with technical support.

How was the initial setup?

I recall that the initial implementation was done by TIBCO and I imagine that it took no more than a couple of weeks. We tend to refer to TIBCO consultancy when necessary. We have around 40 users in the organization and maintenance is handled by a team of four engineers.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our license is paid annually.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We initially had a homemade development of an enterprise bus, and we carried out an RFP at the time, but TIBCO was the winner due to its reliability, mainly in financial markets.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a nine out of 10.

User-friendly, easy to deploy, and stable
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the low-code platform."
  • "The cost of the solution has room for improvement."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for the solution is using the system interface exposing APIs using a tip code as a target button.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the low-code platform.

The solution is easy to troubleshoot and learn.

What needs improvement?

For the chip code container edition, it is recommended to reduce the image size to facilitate setup and accelerate our in-service. By making this change we can then use the optimal size for the best email of the container.

The cost of the solution has room for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I give the stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable, but the file size of the best image has some limitations which restrict its ability to scale rapidly. If we adjust the TIP configurations, I believe it will improve the scalability.

I give the scalability a seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

TIBCO technical support is quick. Whenever we have an issue the support team is quick to get on the phone and resolve the issue.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used RedHat and the open-source Jave Spring framework. We switched to TIBCO BusinessWorks primarily for the features, the cost, and the scalability.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy because TIBCO BusinessWorks is a cloud-native solution. The deployment takes between one and two hours.

What about the implementation team?

The implementation was completed in-house.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with TIBCO BusinessWorks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our organization has a three-year enterprise license agreement with TIBCO. The license is really costly.

I give the cost of the solution a four out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I give the solution an eight out of ten.

I recommend the solution to others.

Adapters have extensive capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "Areas for improvement would be the cloud fitness of the product and the ease of migrating to newer versions."
  • "Cloud fitness is lacking"

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are the extensive capabilities of adapters and the capabilities in the development environment.

What needs improvement?

Areas for improvement would be the cloud fitness of the product and the ease of migrating to newer versions. Its price could also be lower, and its licensing model would benefit from changing to pay-as-you-go to better fit the use of cloud services.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with this product for over ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This product is pretty stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

BusinessWorks is scalable, but I feel limited by the license.

How are customer service and support?

The support team is good, they're really experienced.

How was the initial setup?

The setup isn't very complex, but it does require some expertise.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing is very rigid - it's perpetual licensing, which doesn't really support good scalability.

What other advice do I have?

TIBCO can be really difficult to talk to commercially - they usually don't show much flexibility. I would give this product a rating of eight out of ten.

Seamless and sophisticated solution with a straightforward setup
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a seamless and sophisticated tool."
  • "There are multiple plugins which increase the number of product installations."

What is our primary use case?

We use it to maintain the domains and applications of product-based applications.

What is most valuable?

It is a seamless and sophisticated tool. We can operate everything and scale up and down the instances. It is also very user-friendly, and the experience is good.

What needs improvement?

In TIBCO BusinessWorks, the problem is that there are multiple plugins that increase the number of product installations. For example, there is a different plugin for files and mail and different specifications, features, and integrations to install. However, comparing TIBCO BusinessWorks to other products, others don't require multiple installations. Therefore, I recommend minimizing the number of product installations and hard features.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for three years. It is an on-premises solution.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

TIBCO BusinessWorks is a very stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

TIBCO BusinessWorks is scalable to a limit that depends on the licensing. I don't know the number of cases we can scale up or down, but all customers have categorized licensing if they have gold or silver.

We also have about 100 to 150 users using this solution, and we need approximately a minimum of 20 staff to maintain this solution. Our support team is separate from our deployment team, and we have about 30 to 40 support staff.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support for TIBCO BusinessWorks is very good.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. There is no direct installation with TIBCO Cloud Integration because it is on the cloud. In the backend, Amazon Web Services is easy to use, and it takes about ten to 15 minutes to install TIBCO Business Works.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution a nine of ten.

Offers many opportunities to do synchronous processing and has good time to market
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features are the stability and the time to market."
  • "There are not many plugins available to integrate the databases. We have to write it in Java and integrate it. The developers should have more knowledge. These are the three main aspects that they could improve."

What is our primary use case?

We use this product to trigger campaign management related marketing for our customers.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are the stability and the time to market.

What needs improvement?

There are not many plugins available to integrate the databases. We have to write it in Java and integrate it. The developers should have more knowledge. These are the three main aspects that they could improve.

For how long have I used the solution?

II have been using Tibco for twelve years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There hasn't been a single day that we had any problems because of the product stability. It's awesome.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is not scalable on its own.

We have around 300 to 400 users. They are infrastructure architects, admins, business users, etc.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their technical support is very good.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very easy. The deployment doesn't take more than five minutes. It required around ten people for the deployment. We have a team of 100+ people for development.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are no additional costs to the standard licensing.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Tibco Businessworks a nine out of ten.

There are a lot of opportunities to do synchronous processing.

In the next release, I would like for there to be more integration with big data ecosystems. There should be more plugins.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
