We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Acronis is a flexible solution. It can back up workstations, endpoints, and even your virtual environments and cloud-based environments. So, we can do the backup of the whole gamut of products.""I have everything I need in the backup or in the partition. ""Acronis Backup is valuable if your data is affected by ransomware, you are able to get it back.""In our recent experiences, Acronis Cyber Protect proved most valuable during instances of colleagues facing migration challenges due to ransomware impacts. In these situations, where servers and backups were affected, having a backup stored in external drives or other devices within our data centers posed risks. To address this vulnerability, we decided to shift to a cloud backup solution.""Acronis Backup is easy to use.""This is a perfect option for an SMB.""This is a full software so deployment time is very quick.""The most valuable feature is the quick restoration. We can restore the data quickly."

"Backups are quick and painless to set up.""By using their Helios Cloud service, you have all your clusters, no matter where they are located, in one web portal.""Cohesity DataProtect is a reliable solution for performing backups within a suitable timeframe, and its forever incremental model is particularly effective for the customer's needs. Additionally, the solution handles instant recovery and file-level recovery from a VMware image backup seamlessly.""The initial setup is easy.""The most valuable aspect for me is that I don't have to deal with media in terms of tapes like our existing system does.""The system automatically takes down the nodes one at a time and performs the upgrade and brings the node back up before proceeding to the next. Upgrades can now be done at any time with a high level of confidence.""Cohesity's web-scale architecture enables us to scale up as needed.""The ease of use and the GUI have really been most valuable to us. Configuring the system to do what we need is simple and straight forward and a lot of guesswork has been removed. One of my favorite features with Cohesity is Kroll for Exchange item-level recovery. The software is simple to use and fast."

Cons
"The whole product structure is confusing. You can actually get to do what you want to do. But Acronis seems to have a singular ability to make things difficult.""I would like to have more cybersecurity integration to properly round up the product and its offering. In terms of cybersecurity, if the offerings can be more versatile so that it is not just a backup solution, it would be great. Some addition to cybersecurity would really be helpful so that it becomes a kind of a suite of products. Backup and recovery form a part of the broader security strategy. Its integration with other cybersecurity solutions would provide proper visibility to not just your cybersecurity dashboard but also to all of your backups. You would have a pretty good view of the entire security landscape that you are managing.""If we could have a mass deployment option using Acronis, that would be helpful.""I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks.""Improved support for immutability and Utility AirGAP could be beneficial.""I can't select a network location. I have to map a drive on the server, and then I have to select the mapped drive in order for it to put the backup out there.""For smaller companies it's a little more challenging to maintain.""I've had some issues with the understandability of the interface. I think if they had someone with expertise in user interfaces to look at this, they could clean up the user interface."

"If someone were to change an admin account password, I would like an alert raised for that, which is not available at the moment.""The solution's dashboard or UI can be enhanced and made more user-friendly than its competitors.""Add the ability to delete View Boxes and External Targets in the GUI.""We are highly dissatisfied with the level of support and functionality provided for HANA within the Cohesity product.""The rack mounting instructions did not appear to be correct, but we were able to overcome it.""The support team could do a better job. Sometimes finding the correct person is cumbersome and time consuming.""We would love to see direct compatibility with HPE Simplivity, which we also leverage.""A little more documentation on standard faults would help, as new features are being released quite often."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."

  • "Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
  • "The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."

  • "Licensing is per node and per protected terabyte. You will also pay 10-15% annually for support."

  • "Cohesity came in at the best price."
