We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Remote connect via webpage. I use it to support employees when I am not in the office or when they are at a remote location.""it gives me the ability to remotely connect to machines that I manage without user intervention.""The ConnectWise ScreenConnect tool is very good for remote access.""You can bring up a command prompt remotely and execute commands without having to disturb the user.""We like the fact that on our website we can have the ConnectWise bit embedded, and it has instructions for the end-user about what they need to do. Previously, on LogMeIn, we used to have to almost talk them through everything... ConnectWise has step-by-step instructions, depending on the browser.""I've noted an ROI while using the solution.""Better than TeamViewer and useful for fixing problems remotely.""Session groups and triggers are the most valuable features, because they make a greater degree of organization possible. Greater degree of organization is valuable to my organization, because we have many sessions to handle."

"The biggest thing is the flexibility, you can use it as long as you can get an internet connection. You can use it pretty much anywhere you're at. It just makes it a lot easier. We are a small staff, and if nobody is in the office, LogMeIn gives us secure access to get in there.""The most valuable feature is having it in a central location, all the different groups, and being able to ad-hoc or at will log on to whichever computer system I need to get to from a central spot.""It must have been straightforward. My IT person set it up for me. It is a friendly program.""This is a very reliable product and I've never had it crash.""Being able to remote access my computer means I can work at night from my house.""Technical support was able to address everything that I asked in a timely, responsible, satisfactory manner.""It's even simple to remotely add a computer to our group. We can send a link to that computer and they just follow the prompts on the screen and they are ready to go - we can access it. It's very user-friendly.""I can connect to them remotely and do all the functions I would have to do by manually driving to them, so it does make things a lot easier."

Cons
"Support for PAC files on the guest's side and support for proxy on the host's side. Currently, there is no support for guest-side PAC files or for the host-side proxy (which uses authentication).""The solution should add the ability to video chat with the user on the other end.""I was not thrilled with their support. I do not have a lot of time to deal with the attention which is needed to fix issues.""There needs to be a way to run the agent without installing, like GoToAssist.""Speed is a major factor in Automate, and the control panel is horribly slow.""The recent redesign has made it slower and basically worthless.""On a Linux machine, there are different limitations that are not there on a Windows Server. Much more limitations exist on Linux deployments.""Something that I would like to see in the future is mobile video streaming. They do provide audio conferencing, but seeing the problem makes it easier to solve the problem. If they had video streaming, if a client had a physical problem with something and I couldn't get remote access, the client could use his mobile phone to show me the problem. In these cases, even if a client's systems were down, I could help, so long as I had a mobile phone environment."

"It would be helpful if there were more things that you could do outside of having to log into the machine, such as being able to raise a command line and reboot the computer if, for whatever reason, it doesn't want to let me in.""Unfortunately, LogMeIn is a long ways from being perfect. It has a lot of really great features, though they don't always work well.""The high pricing of the product is its only shortcoming that needs improvement.""Everything has to be done over the web, via email, or something like that. You can't talk to a human being. That bothers me a lot.""The user interface needs improvement. Mostly, it's pretty intuitive for what I need to do, but the extra elements to it seem very complex, so I don't really try to even use those. For example, document sharing, file stuff. I can do the log-in part, but the additional features are kind of complex.""Maybe they can come up with a plan if you only use it for login and, occasionally, printing. Maybe you can charge what you used to charge and then if we want to use it for files or things that are more sophisticated, charge a little more.""Remote Access for external and internal customers.""As far as the usability of it, I'd like to see if printing could be enabled in the basic version or the medium version. Some of the remote printing isn't available unless you go to the premium versions, and that's disappointing."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Good price and works well."
  • "Their licensing model is good, their pricing model is good, their service is good; bandwidth is excellent. They're consistent."
  • "I think the product's pricing is a good value. I paid $600 a year and that was fine for me. It was about $50 a month. Licensing is all very straightforward."
  • "It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
  • "Pricing is fair for Control and the licensing is simple."
  • "The cloud version is relatively inexpensive, but the on-premise version is expensive if you do not need three technicians, only one or two for concurrent sessions."
  • "It is priced fairly."
  • "Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."

  • "It is very good."
  • "If you subscribe the package of 100 Agents, but install 5, you are still paying for the 100 agent package."
  • "Pricing has been going up for just going back and forth between two computers. Last year I called and complained, they gave me a deal. This year, it's gone up to $350. I'm looking for a new source. It seems to be getting expensive for me to look back and forth. Come up with a different level of service for just communicating with two computers; I use it, maybe, five minutes a day."
  • "Pricing is what I'm upset with. Now, that they bought everybody up, the price doubled."
  • "To be honest with you, I use it just for login and the prices are getting too high so we're going to look for an alternative solution. It used to be a couple of hundred dollars a year, now it's like $600 a year. We're definitely going to be switching shortly. Every year they have significant increases."
  • "We're paying $839 a year, so we're paying about $70 a month. We're using the smallest version of Pro."
  • "I have a tiered pricing. If I wanted to subscribe for three years, I will get a discount for that."
  • "It is pricey. When they renew me, they always boost it up, I call them and they cut it back a little bit."
