We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Safe attachments, safe links, policies, and the ability to protect from zero-day threats are the most valuable features.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is a stable solution.""The deployment capability is a great feature.""Does a thorough job of examining email and URLs for malicious content.""Defender for Office 365 has helped eliminate having to look at multiple dashboards and that is the aspect I like most about it. It is simpler, effective, and convenient. The users like the process efficiency.""The product is not resource-intensive.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365's most valuable features are safe attachments and safe links.""The risk level notifications are most valuable. We get to know what kind of intrusion or attack is there, and we can fix a problem on time."

"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiMail are its virus outbreak prevention and FortiSandbox integration.""The anti-spam features are valuable.""It actually filters the compromised emails when on a network layer itself.""The key benefits of this solution are its user-friendly interface and clear instructions, as well as the wealth of online resources and helpful health community available for support. These features make it easy for users to navigate and utilize the solution effectively.""The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiMail is its fully detailed dashboard.""The number of false positives is minimal.""FortiMail is extremely flexible and very easy to learn. Compared to other email security products that we've tried, it is mainly the ease of configuration that makes FortiMail valuable to us.""The solution is very, very stable."

"The piece that is most valuable from the Mimecast standpoint will be the sandboxing feature.""The solution is scalable.""The setup was easy.""The solution's performance is good.""In the current environment that the world is in, everyone is trying to hack everyone else, so Project+ definitely helps a lot there.""The initial setup is very straightforward.""The product's most valuable features are impersonation protection and phishing countermeasures.""The interface of this solution is very easy to navigate and user-friendly. Cons
"The company should focus on adding threats that the solution is currently unable to detect.""Microsoft wants its well-paying customers to finish testing some of its half-baked products, find bugs, and report bugs back to Microsoft's team, which is a little frustrating for those who have to manage it and roll it up to thousands of people across the organization.""I'd like some additional features any product can give me to protect our environment in a better way.""The only thing they should improve is the licensing model. They should stop changing it. A year ago, the five features I mentioned were included in one product. Now, three of them are bundled into one product, and you have to pay extra for the other two. I don't mind paying extra, but I don't want them to change it every year or every six months. I need to know what I'm looking at and not worry about it next year.""The pre-sales cost calculations could be more transparent.""There needs to be an improvement in integrating the product to work across multiple operating systems, and to have better support for non-Microsoft file types.""In one of the reports I can get the exact place where a vulnerable file resides. But for that, I need to explicitly go into the device and check. If they could include that file part in the report, without my having to go to the device itself, that would help.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365 must improve the overall management style, including the GUI. It also needs to change the filters so that it is easy to whitelist and blacklist data."

More Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Cons →

"The only drawback to this solution is that the firmware is frequently updated, and each update results in downtime.""They should add a lot of threat-intelligence feeds from different sources - not only from one source (FortiGuard).""FortiMail's dashboard is somewhat complex and could be made simpler.""An additional feature that could be added is a pop-up screen notifying you that an email has been blocked, without having to double click on it to take you there it could provide you with a summary explaining why it was on hold or why was it spam when you hover over it with your cursor.""I don't know if it is possible, but I would like to see Artificial Intelligence and machine learning introduced.""I believe there is room for enhancement in content and web security features.""Limited ability to upgrade hardware may lead to some performance issues that might otherwise be improved.""What's missing in Fortinet FortiMail is some sandbox information for some of the emails. It's probably configuration-based, where it could be configured on some emails. For example, there was malware in some emails that weren't detected in some of the Fortinet FortiMail sessions, but it should have been configured from my company's end to better catch scam emails, but overall, the solution is okay. At the moment, my company is okay with the current Fortinet FortiMail offerings, but in the past, because of a lack of understanding, my team wasn't able to quickly implement the geographical IP blocking feature. It was time-consuming to implement that feature, but that wasn't a fault of Fortinet FortiMail. The issue was from my team's end, but just by emailing the support team, that issue was resolved, so right now, there isn't any additional feature I'd like added to Fortinet FortiMail."

More Fortinet FortiMail Cons →

"The solution is complex and not easy to use.""The installation is not so straightforward.""They could provide a unified licensing model, including all the security features.""While it's quick and easy, the initial setup could be more user-friendly.""Their support should be improved. They are notorious for sending you to knowledge-based articles rather than actually talking to you, but that is, unfortunately, kind of becoming a trend with everything. In terms of features, I haven't had any complaints. However, I don't like the fact they moved to a paid training subscription model. They used to have a lot of free webinars for training, but they have started to charge for them in the past year.""The solution should include more AI features instead of Mimecast's more general static configuration tooling.""The solution is very expensive.""The price could be better, it should be reduced."

    Reviews from Real Users

Fortinet FortiMail stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its powerful anti-virus tool and its robust spam protection capabilities.

Flamur P., head of security management at Ipko Telecommunications, writes, "Fortinet FortiMail has a lot of valuable features. It works great. It also has an antivirus feature. Support for Fortinet FortiMail was also great when my team wanted to block some geographic IPs, but couldn't figure out how to do it. The support team provided clear communication on how to resolve that issue. Another valuable feature of Fortinet FortiMail is spam filtering which tells you how many spammy emails you've received. Based on my current use cases, I'm happy with Fortinet FortiMail."
