"Initial setup is straightforward. There weren't too many issues with setting it up. It takes one hour or so."
"The web filtering facility and application control are the most valuable features from the point of view of our clients. The VPN feature is also quite popular amongst our clients. Two-factor authentication is one of the good features in Fortinet. These features are important for the current scenario of security. Security has become a necessity nowadays. With cyber-attacks becoming more common, protecting an organization's data is one of the major tasks. It is also very stable and scalable, and it is very straightforward to configure. Their technical support is also good."
"The command line in Juniper SRX is extremely powerful, in my opinion. It's one of the best command lines I've used in networking products."
"The GUI is simple to use."
"We're primarily using Juniper's EPA feature, but not the other things. We use it to manage different points of firewalling of routing."
"It integrates well with Fortinet and Palo Alto."
"From a protection perspective, it provides a network perimeter security function for our company."
"The features that I have found valuable are the ones for the main purpose we are using Juniper - its firewall to protect our network for our internet access."
"Juniper is a highly flexible platform, and you get more bang for your buck compared to a Cisco product."
"Juniper SRX is a very powerful firewall and sometimes can be used as a router."
"The most valuable feature is the CLI."
"App-ID and User-ID have repeatedly shown value in securing business critical systems."
"We can monitor the traffic manually and detect threats. Additionally, we can block different IP addresses and URLs."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its stability, ease of implementation, ease of operation, and security."
"The filtering feature is good."
"It ensures that every interaction, pre and post-loan processing, undergoes a thorough inspection, leveraging VPN features and comprehensive security protocols."
"The most valuable feature is the Posture Assessment."
"Embedding it into my application development lifecycle prevents data loss and business disruption, allowing the adoption to operate at the speed of my AWS Cloud."
"The sniffing packets or packet captures, can be simplified and improved because it's a little confusing."
"In the next release, maybe the documentation on how to use this solution could be improved."
"Some of the web policy reports could be improved."
"Fortinet currently has many products bundled with FortiGate including the basic firewall and load balancer, and I think that that they need to have separate product portfolios for each of these specialized services."
"Fortinet FortiGate could improve the user interface. There should be more functionality and options through the GUI."
"It would be good if they had fewer updates."
"Technical support could be better. You don't always get the level of help you need right away."
"They should make the rule sets more understandable for the end user. When you're trying to explain to somebody how a computer network is secured, sometimes it's difficult for an end user or customer to understand. If there was a way to make the terminology more accessible to the end user, the set up could be easier. They should translate the technical jargon to an easily relatable and understandable conversation for the end user, the customer, that would be brilliant. Particularly in an environment where the IT structure is audited regularly, there's always pressure from the auditor to up the standards and up the security and you get your USCERT's that come out and there's a warning about this and the customer will want to lock out so much and when you apply it they run into issue where they can't search the internet or print to their remote office. Of course they can't print to your remote office, they just locked it up. They should make the language more understandable for the customer. If there's a product out there that made the jargon understandable to John Q. Public, I would buy that."
"As a networking person, I don't really have any major issues with this device. Based on my experience of using it in a cluster, it could be more stable. I had an incident when one of the SRXs in a cluster couldn't learn ARP. It is a good solution, but firewalls don't seem to be an area of development for Juniper. They are focusing on data centers, routers, and switches, not firewalls."
"The pricing strategy of the vendor could improve."
"Improvements can be made to the GUI. The GUI can be improved by creating policies to handle IPS requirements. The configuration should be a one-step process. This would make it easier to complete the setup to register the time of operation."
"Sometimes committing configurations takes a lot of time in Juniper because of the connections, and it could be a little bit faster."
"It could be more secure."
"In the future, I would like to see the UI more responsive"
"The centralized management platform could be improved."
"The solution could cost less. It's a bit expensive right now."
"There's room for improvement in terms of integration with the load balancer. It isn't like Fortinet, which has a load balancer built into its firewall. It is effortless to integrate within the load balancer-plus-firewall solution."
"The implementation should be simplified."
"The solution's licensing could be improved, and training should be included before installation."
"The only minor issue we've faced is with the app's ID configuration, which requires specific matching for application filtering."
"I would like to see a more thorough QA process. We have had some difficulties from bugs in releases."
"The disadvantage with Palo Alto is that they don't have a cloud-based solution that includes a secure web gateway."
"Its web interface is a bit outdated, and it needs to be updated. They can also improve the NAT functionality. We have had issues with the NAT setup."
"There could be dynamic DNS features similar to Fortinet in the product."
