We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We were with Oracle previously. With Oracle, you have to buy a different piece of software for every business process. If you want to do budgeting, that's a product. If you want to do consolidation, that's a product. If you want to do BI type of work, that's yet another product. So, you end up buying a lot of software from Oracle. With OneStream, it is a little different. It is a platform where you can do all those things, and you can do them with just one software purchase and then you just pay for users on it.""The product's most valuable feature is extensibility.""It offers great ease of use. This impacts not only the end-user experience but also the administrator's, which affects the total cost of ownership."

"Hyperion is helpful for all our budget processes.""We can integrate with any system and pull data from SAP or SQL Server. We can also design our own role files to establish how we pull the file data and store it in our database.""The latest cloud version is more efficient for financial implementations.""Oracle Hyperion has helped make things work faster in our company.""The most valuable features are those associated with modules and SP, IT in this space, planning, HFM, and PME.""It's a very good program and it's useful for consolidation.""Since it is an enterprise-capable solution, people are not worried about security, giving data, the ability to manage complex consolidation, and its ability to modify reporting.""It's basically the same as the other budgeting solutions."

Cons
"We should be able to download the data in the same format we upload it.""AI is where I see the most innovation and progress, but it's not fully developed yet.""Currently, they only support one browser, and it would be good if you could use it on Chrome, Firefox, etc. It is a little frustrating that you can only use a certain Microsoft browser. They're pretty tightly aligned with Microsoft. So, I can see the reasons for it."

"We are still having some issues with the ASO Cube. It can take a long time to clear the data in the ASO Cube compared to BSO data-clearing operations. We don't have a specific calculation in the ASO, and we only have these aggregate options on the ASO side. If we need calculations, we have to calculate them in the BSO and pass the data to the ASO Cube for the reporting. That's one of the drawbacks. Oracle could also improve on the data logging side as well.""The initial setup of Oracle Hyperion is very difficult.""I have a problem with Hyperion when I need to log some changes in the budget. It's hard to know who made which changes in the budget.""The solution is about to cease to exist, so it doesn't really matter if they add anything to it. It's at end-of-life.""Configuration is a little complex, it's not very easy. The solution is integrated with Essbase and there are not many users of the Essbase database. If they can provide different modules for each subject area, like supply chain, for inventory forecasting or for order management forecasting, it would make each subject area easier to manage.""It is challenging to do reporting on Oracle Hyperion if you're not an expert.""The analytical side of the product could be better and needs to be improved.""What I like is to have everything on one platform and not in different modules like Oracle Hyperion."
