We performed a comparison between VMware Workspace ONE and Microsoft Intune based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Based on the parameters we compared, Microsoft Intune has higher ratings and is more affordable than VMware Workspace ONE.
"The key benefit of Intune is its integration with the Microsoft ecosystem."
"The most valuable features are the ones that make sure that the deployment is of a standard operating system and the Zero Touch deployment, which is very useful. This allows users to have an out of box experience."
"The device profiling which uses the official Outlook email enabled us to control the screenshot feature and prevent copying outside of the organization's application."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Autopilot."
"It works pretty well for us."
"The solution has reduced the risk of security breaches by 30%."
"It's normally able to meet 100% expectations of our customers."
"The Microsoft Windows Autopilot and Defender policies are the most valuable features of this solution."
"It's all about centralizing your data and making sure that your data is centralized and secure."
"The feature that we find most valuable is the corporate email pushing."
"We find it to be reliable."
"The most valuable features are the ones that control the leaking."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The remote management and location capabilities are good."
"It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten."
"Good device management and good integration with third parties."
"It's only good for a Microsoft environment."
"Intune should be much more granular in terms of supporting more Android cellular devices."
"The reporting is subpar. That's the only issue we have with Intune. We use another solution for that purpose."
"There could be more wizard-driven policy development or creation. Some of the policies can get quite complex. If they have a wizard that assists the administrators in creating the policy, that will be a great job."
"Microsoft Intune lacks the ability to provide seamless remote assistance or remote control."
"I'd suggest adding more features for macOS in Intune. There should be more functionality for managing macOS. There should be a better capability for pushing things down on macOS. Currently, Intune is not capable of managing macOS at the same level as Windows."
"I would like to see the ability to deploy custom packages as a Windows 64-bit package, as opposed to the Windows 32-bit, which is the only one available now."
"It would be helpful if there was proactive remediation."
"There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution."
"I'd like to see more integration capabilities in future releases."
"There is no Apple zero-day support for updates."
"The pricing could always be better."
"VMware Workspace ONE can improve in virtual reality. Customers are now looking toward virtual reality devices. Though it supports virtual reality, it's treated as an Android device. Customers want to deal with VR devices, they want a specific VR tool. Not an Android device VR tool."
"We'd like more useful support."
"Windows 10 management is there, but VMware only recently developed that part, and it's not fully mature. Patch management and other integrations are there as well as the application-pushing part, command line, mandatory commands, etc. Some out-of-the-box solutions should be available to better integrate a broader range of applications and handle application push. That's the roadmap we should look at."
"There should be better compatibility with Linux devices."

If you are only using Windows, it will be a great decision. However, if you are using Mac and Linux you will still need WS1 /JAMF or any other MDM solutions. Intune has extensive capacities on Windows but limited capabilities on MAC.
My suggestion will be
MAC - WS1/JAMF
Windows : Intune
Compliance check: Intune for the entire fleet. This will allow you to leverage the conditional access capabilities of Azure AD.
First of all, what is WS1? I think you should have Intune now as part of your E3 subscription (not sure of it, so please check your billing menu). Intune gives you a lot of flexibility to set rules to deploy to systems.
