We performed a comparison between SOTI MobiControl and VMware Workspace ONE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The solution is stable."
"The most valuable feature of Intune is the central dashboard for compliance and policy management."
"Autopilot is the most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune."
"Autopilot is a great feature. Most users are looking for a zero-touch deployment."
"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"I can reach devices or computers over the internet. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. I can manage any device. That is the most important part."
"I like the group policy management feature, which performs application monitoring and device enrollment."
"The most valuable feature is the policy CSPs."
"The most valuable features are visibility and remote access."
"One of the most valuable features is the remote control. If there are issues in the field, we can remote into those devices and see what kind of issues they are."
"One of the most valuable features is the ease of moving items from one configuration to another; it's a Windows-like setup. Also, the admin console is very easy to manage and to move through."
"It gives us the ability to manage our mobile fleets and push out updates quickly for all of our internal applications to keep the business running. We can push an app update out in minutes..."
"It helps in enrolling, managing, and relocating the devices quickly."
"It is very reliable, and their support is excellent."
"The Lockdown Kiosk Mode is very useful... When you have 9,000 people remotely using your applications, you want to make sure that they don't play with Facebook while they're supposed to be working... It also prevents installation of software that could be harmful or compromise the security of the phone."
"I've really enjoyed the use of the file sync when I'm administrating version control in my program."
"The product has fully automated features that help people do tasks easily."
"VMware Workspace ONE has been stable so far."
"The remote management and location capabilities are good."
"Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."
"The contained browser is a good feature."
"Among the most important improvements is the ability to set up different groups with different deployment policies."
"The feature with the highest rating for me is its employee management. I can also praise how versatile it is in terms of operating systems. It has good support for multiple operating systems and can easily manage them all. Not just that, but it can also support any kind of tool that can be run on all these operating systems."
"The performance is good, and it is easy to configure."
"There are a lot of small use cases where we realized that some technical solution was missing in Microsoft in comparison to other products. For example, it lacks something similar to sensing or location-based rules and configurations."
"There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products."
"Data leak prevention can be integrated into it. Currently, it does not have data leak prevention."
"The synchronization could be improved."
"The documentation about the custom image setup could be better. Although Microsoft provides the steps to configure Intune or set up or deploy Intune, it doesn't have much information related to custom images. If you ask, "how can we deploy the custom image?" There is no information. The steps they mention ask you to connect to your on-premises environment or create your own image on the cloud itself once there is connectivity. But I needed to go to multiple websites to get all this information. I had to figure out how to upload the custom image if you want to use the on-premise custom image for Cloud PC. If you have the proper subscription, you must have the right access, like global admin or owner. Then you can add your custom image to that. There are no steps mentioned over there. Microsoft Intune doesn't have Chrome browser support. I would like to have that support because they will want it if we pitch the product to clients."
"Integrating certain group policies can be challenging and may necessitate using on-premises systems to integrate them with Microsoft Intune."
"China blocks Google and Google Play Store, which makes installation challenging. Microsoft Intune is a company software, which has to be installed to the app portal or Microsoft Software Center."
"I'd suggest adding more features for macOS in Intune. There should be more functionality for managing macOS. There should be a better capability for pushing things down on macOS. Currently, Intune is not capable of managing macOS at the same level as Windows."
"We're deploying an application upgrade. We can't do more than three or four devices at once, and we don't know if the device actually received the upgrade. There's no indicator saying it's 100 percent complete until everything is done. Let's say I work East to West. I work on the East Coast and I want to confirm it was done with the upgrades in that region. I wouldn't know until I actually went into it. There's no indicator telling me that it's complete."
"The main feature that we would like to have with Soti is the ability to push an iOS update without having people come to my office. That is the main reason why we went with Soti. And that feature is not working on my version."
"If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes."
"The management console could be improved to be a little bit more user-friendly. Some of the stuff is a little bit cumbersome, some of it feels like an engineering solution, but otherwise it's pretty good."
"I wish I had the ability to select an app singly and install or refresh it, instead of having to go into the application controls and assign it to a group. I wish there was a spot that listed all my applications. I could go into a single one and refresh or update. It's not very easily accessible, per application."
"It would be helpful if the product offered more integration and more features around the iOS and macOS platforms."
"I would like them to improve the process of enrolling Android devices. It's much more difficult to enroll Android devices than it is Windows CE devices. There are a lot more steps required."
"Maybe if there were tiers, it would be better as then companies could lower the pricing by going to the lower deployment model."
"I prefer to work with Jamf Pro because it is more specific to working with the iPad features."
"They could provide DLP integration for applications and specific user account security."
"The bigger vendors like VMware, Insight, and MobileIron can assign engineers to customers. You can work with them to develop the right competency to use the product."
"The initial setup should be simplified."
"The portal is not user-friendly."
"The app installer is something that they should really change. It creates a lot of confusion for the user."
"In terms of the inventory management side, as in the invoice management, the stock management and the entire inventory of an organization is lagging a bit in comparison to Blackberry or other EMM solutions."
"The location service could improve and more integration with other devices, such as Android enterprise and Apple devices."
