We performed a comparison between Trend Vision One and VMware Carbon Black Endpoint based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment."
"The solution was relatively easy to deploy."
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"The stability is very good."
"The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."
"I'm satisfied with the level of coverage. The policies have been very useful and detailed."
"For our day-to-day use cases, the correlation and attribution of different alerts are valuable. It is sort of an SIEM, but it is intelligent enough to run the queries and intentionally detect and prioritize attacks for you. At the end of the day, it is different data that you see. It correlates data for you and makes it meaningful. You can see that someone got an email and clicked a link. That link downloaded, for example, malware into the memory of the machine. From there, you can see that they started moving laterally to your environment. I quite like it because it gives visibility, so Workbench is what we use every day"
"Trend Micro XDR is stable, scalable, and reasonably priced."
"The most valuable feature is the network protection shield on every server, which isolates attacks and prevents our clients from being affected."
"We had a quick deployment. The solution is easy to set up."
"Scaling is not a problem at all."
"The solution is very easy to use."
"The solution is stable."
"This product has the capability of uploading scripts to the tool and this is a very comprehensive feature."
"It is a stable solution...The initial setup of VMware Carbon Black Endpoint was easy."
"VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is a highly stable solution."
"Carbon Black Cb Defense has a nice component called Alert Triage. It contains full details of the process execution "kill chain" and "go live" for immediate remediation."
"The solution is extremely scalable."
"It actually does some heuristics, and some behavioral analysis."
"It gives you all of the information in a short and sweet fashion."
"Some of the valuable features I have found are the online documentation of the solution is well organized and thorough. I like the simplicity of bypass and the visualization of the active components."
"Intelligence aspects need improvement"
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"The solution is not stable."
"The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly. It would also be better if the implementation were more straightforward."
"I would like to have the capability to export the information we receive from the XDR into Microsoft Excel."
"The integration with third-party tools and with on-premises Active Directory needs improvement."
"The solution only supports Windows and Mac. It would be helpful if it could support other OS, such as Linux."
"They are planning on adding the Security Playbooks as a complete feature. In the preview mode, it is available; however, it is not released."
"The centralized dashboard has room for improvement."
"The information captured by Trend Vision One needs to be more detailed."
"They should increase their potential for third-party integrations."
"CB Defense could be more compatible with Linux, and its cloud provision could be improved."
"It could be a bit complicated. You have to be very familiar with Carbon Black to understand what it is doing and why it is doing. I would like to have more explanations and simplification in the user interface. It would be good to get help and see more explanations. It should tell us that a software is blocked and the reason for it. It would be good to be able to build chains in terms of what caused what, what worked, and what caused an issue. We are now moving from Carbon Black to Cortex XDR. While choosing antivirus software, we were also looking at Carbon Black because it also has an antivirus package, and it is next-generation, but we were told that Carbon Black doesn't support firewalls. We have Palo Alto firewalls. We would have chosen this solution if it supported firewalls, in particular next-generation firewalls, but unfortunately, it doesn't. Therefore, we decided on Cortex XDR because it integrates with Palo Alto firewalls."
"Carbon Black CB Defense has helped improve my organization by allowing us to have better data so that we can do correlation and get visibility into the alerts."
"Carbon Black has limited capability to integrate with Rapid7."
"The solution needs expanded endpoint query tools."
"The local technical support is very poor, but the support from headquarters is very nice."
"I would personally give the tech support a rating of seven out of ten."
"The directions for Splunk are spot on, but it is difficult to find anything on integration with AlienVault,"
