Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Valuable features include the responsiveness, ability to tune up and tune down the connection, and video.""Remote connect via webpage. I use it to support employees when I am not in the office or when they are at a remote location.""I've noted an ROI while using the solution.""Being able to flip quickly between however many monitors that I have running, detune the video for black and white, or with fewer colors to make it faster, is amazing.""Remote support is efficient and easy for our end users to receive support.""The ConnectWise ScreenConnect tool is very good for remote access.""ConnectWise Connect is very convenient as we can remote to a PC even when it is not within our LAN.""We like the fact that on our website we can have the ConnectWise bit embedded, and it has instructions for the end-user about what they need to do. Previously, on LogMeIn, we used to have to almost talk them through everything... ConnectWise has step-by-step instructions, depending on the browser."

"The initial setup was simple.""It saves us drive time, we don't have to go to clients. We can just use remote access.""No issues with stability. It has worked on every platform I’ve tried it on, and not interfered with anything.""This solution has allowed granular permission access to machines, very consistent and solid most of the time.""I like the security aspect, that I can glance down and see quickly who's up to date on patches, and who has virus concerns.""I would not want to tell other companies about it because it is so powerful, it does so much, and it makes me look so good.""Provides remote access, allows me to get inside our network to be able to fix problems.""I like the encryption and security of LogMeIn. I think the end-to-end security on it, in and of itself, is really good. I use the two-point login system and it's great."

Cons
"Support for PAC files on the guest's side and support for proxy on the host's side. Currently, there is no support for guest-side PAC files or for the host-side proxy (which uses authentication).""There is one back-end issue that I am running into at some of locations where I login to provide support, and sometimes port 443 is blocked. That is what it uses to connect. So, I am having to do workarounds to get a session started.""The recent redesign has made it slower and basically worthless.""Reporting could definitely use improvement. With LogMeIn Rescue, I used to be able to, for instance, at the end of the month, pull off a report of every session. It was very simple... I could see the name that was typed in, the IP address to the computer that it was connected to, if it was running Windows... It just doesn't seem - there might be but I haven't found it - to be a way of pulling that information out of ConnectWise.""There needs to be a way to run the agent without installing, like GoToAssist.""Something that I would like to see in the future is mobile video streaming. They do provide audio conferencing, but seeing the problem makes it easier to solve the problem. If they had video streaming, if a client had a physical problem with something and I couldn't get remote access, the client could use his mobile phone to show me the problem. In these cases, even if a client's systems were down, I could help, so long as I had a mobile phone environment.""Mobile interface.""I would like to see more overlap, meaning, I would like to be able to see what processes are running on a computer, for example, or what services are running."

More ConnectWise ScreenConnect Cons →

"There are some screens that are just ugly and difficult to manipulate.""The update issues are an absolute pain. It says it is updating things, but the updates do not go through, and you try your hardest to get the updates to go through and they don't. You go to the PC, but there is no update there, then you go back and it says there are updates.""The initial load is terribly slow and often has delays with the login page loading.""The solution is expensive as hell.""File transfer on the free version needs improvement. Allow file transfer with drag and drop to and from Remote Desktop. ""I have had issues where LogMeIn has not been useful, then we have not been able to work that day. This happens probably two or three times a year.""It is easy to get locked out, which is something that needs to be improved.""Our clients are having issues with printing."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Good price and works well."
  • "Their licensing model is good, their pricing model is good, their service is good; bandwidth is excellent. They're consistent."
  • "I think the product's pricing is a good value. I paid $600 a year and that was fine for me. It was about $50 a month. Licensing is all very straightforward."
  • "It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
  • "Pricing is fair for Control and the licensing is simple."
  • "The cloud version is relatively inexpensive, but the on-premise version is expensive if you do not need three technicians, only one or two for concurrent sessions."
  • "It is priced fairly."
  • "Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."

  • "It sucks that I am paying for LogMeIn Central, LogMeIn Pro, and LogMeIn Rescue, plus LogMeIn Ignition, which is the mobile app. It costs me a lot of money every month at LogMeIn. "
  • "It really is an expensive product for me."
  • "Pricing is a little on the expensive side, compared to what TeamViewer has offered."
  • "It used to be a lot cheaper but then the price shot up (doubled over the span of two years), but it's hard to switch, and most competing products are similarly priced anyway."
  • "Pricing is a little high. They require for LogMeIn Central to go into brackets. If you go over a certain amount of PCs or servers to access, going up to the next bracket is a big jump."
  • "The price is a little high but it's competitive. The licensing process is fairly easy."
  • "It's probably worth the value, but the price increases over the last five years are getting harder to justify."
  • "We went with it for pricing reasons, that it was the biggest bang for our buck, by combining the ability to have a central security console, as well as a central point for user administration."
