We performed a comparison between ESET Endpoint Security and SentinelOne based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Both solutions received very positive reviews from users. SentinelOne wins out because of users’ reports of high ROI and advanced customer support.
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers."
"Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work."
"The solution was relatively easy to deploy."
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"We use ESET, which is pretty much perfect for us. It is also absolutely simple and automatic once setup."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable features of this solution are, of course, the IPS/IDS, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus."
"It rarely gets in the way, and we don't even notice it scanning."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ease of use."
"The tool protects everything."
"The overall security capability of the product is pretty reliable."
"The potential threat protection feature is the most valuable. In the event that one of my computers is not on the network and gets a virus, ESET Endpoint Security quickly detects the malware, and in most cases, it removes the virus. It also has the ability to remotely shut down the computer. I like the remote control part the most."
"SentinelOne is very simple to install and very simple to manage. It's very aggressive, so it does protection well, and it seems to be stopping attacks that other solutions cannot."
"The deep visibility is really important for us. With it, we can really look deep into some of the incidents."
"The portal is the most valuable feature because it provides us with a single pane of glass view and is highly intuitive."
"Prevents ransomware getting through."
"The Microsoft integrations are most valuable right now."
"The product can scale as needed."
"The solution is easy to set up."
"I work in vulnerability management, and for me, at the moment, its automation is most valuable. For the SOC team, incident visibility would be most valuable, but for me, it is automation."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later."
"FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting."
"The solution is not stable."
"ESET Endpoint Security should offer more integration with multi-attack frameworks."
"ESET Endpoint Antivirus could improve the mobile device experience by having more coverage."
"It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos."
"It would be great to have VIP functions added to the solution in a future release."
"I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection."
"The integration capabilities might be lacking a bit."
"They could improve the solution by adding better ransomware features."
"When users renew licenses, they should offer a discount."
"Periodically we have an application that does not work correctly when SentinelOne is installed, yet performs as expected when SentinelOne is removed."
"One of the things they could do is extend the product range to include Android and iPhone so that you could have the app on your phone as well. There is probably something going on there with that, but that's something that they're lacking at the moment. For instance, if I was to have to recommend a client to protect their phone, I'd have to recommend Norton or something else. I don't have an answer within the SentinelOne solution."
"We'd like SentinelOne to upgrade automatically. It doesn't automatically update the agent if some system has an older version of the SentinelOne. It has to be triggered from the console."
"One thing I don't like is the exportable report. They're they're not as useful as I'd hoped they would be."
"They should train their own people so that they can train us better. The theory is good."
"Email security should also integrate with it to get more visibility on it."
"One area of SentinelOne that definitely has room for improvement is the reporting. The canned reports are clunky and we haven't been able to pull a lot of good information directly from them."
"Generally, the stability is good, but I would like to see better stability from the solution. The stability issue is partially a con of a behavioral-based product, but being behavioral-based, it also has a lot of pros."
