Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Omada's best feature is creating accounts, automatically assigning permissions, and distributing resources based on assignment policies.""The most valuable aspect of the product is that it is Microsoft-based and it supports all Microsoft technology.""For me, the best feature of Omada Identity is its web interface because it's really easy for users to understand.""Omada offers a technical solution that addresses both our needs.""The most valuable aspects of Omada Identity for me are the automation capabilities.""The most relevant feature is Omada's reporting engine. Omada never 'forgets' and archives every process. All steps an admin, user, or manager has executed, are recorded in Omada.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""The most valuable functionality of the solution for us is that when employees stop working for the municipality, they are automatically disabled in Active Directory. Omada controls that 100 percent. They are disabled for 30 days, and after that time Omada deletes the Active Directory account. The same type of thing happens when we employ a new person. Their information is automatically imported to Omada and they are equipped with the roles and rights so they can do their jobs."

"Our customers leverage the product as a central component in their identity field management. The process involves connecting it to target systems through connectors. It also helps us in role-based access control implementation.""I like that it's open-source, and it's working. It has nice features, and it looks like it's easy to maintain.""The basic setup is straightforward and takes minutes to complete."

"The access request management has improved significantly in terms of its user interface. What sets it apart from competitors like SailPoint is that it's an event-based solution rather than schedule-based. That's a key differentiator.""It's a very flexible tool, so you can synchronize multiple sources of data and you have multiple connections to various kinds of systems.""The most valuable feature of this solution has been the ability for us to integrate a lot of external systems, and the automatic transfer of a lot of identity information. Additionally, the customization is very good.""The most valuable feature of NetIQ Identity Manager for identity synchronization is the ability to provide users with all necessary access on day one through automated provisioning, facilitated by approval workflows.""I like the eDirectory feature.""The product is easy to use.""The main value lies in the simplicity of implementation, as well as its customized look and feel.""The most valuable features of NetIQ Identity Manager are the synchronization of different directories, such as Active Directory. We have many Active Directory systems, not only one."

Cons
"Omada could communicate better with us about the product roadmap. We haven't gotten any updates about it. The user interface is often a bit difficult to understand. It isn't optimized for small screens, so it doesn't display all of the information clearly, so users need to scroll a lot.""When the re-certification process is launched that makes Omada very slow. There are performance issues in the current version.""The reporting and importing have room for improvement.""Omada Identity has a steep learning curve.""We are trying to use Omada's standards and to adapt our processes. But we have had some trouble with the bad documentation. This is something that they could improve on. It has not been possible for us to analyze some of the problems so far, based on the documentation. We always need consultants. The documentation should include some implementation hints and some guidelines for implementing the processes.""The comprehensiveness of Omada's out-of-the-box connectors for the applications we use could be better. We are getting a new HR system called Cornerstone for which they do not have an out-of-the-box connector, so we have to take the REST connector and play around with it.""Omada's reporting functionality is limited and could benefit from greater customization.""The user interface should have a more flexible design, where you can change it to your requirement."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"One area where I see room for improvement in EVOLVEUM midPoint is enhancing the user interface for configuration. Currently, a significant portion of the configuration involves technical, XML-based settings requiring a higher level of technical expertise.""I think that the product is missing some of the identity governance functions—for example, the legal stuff and GDPR, and so on. But I think they are currently working on it.""The support isn't ideal - because the product is open-source, it relies on your own ability to make it work unless you pay for support at a high hourly rate."

More EVOLVEUM midPoint Cons →

"The interface is old and outdated, and the design software seems archaic.""The solution architecture is somewhat complex. For some components, the necessary resilience is not inherent.""NetIQ Identity Manager could improve by updating the user portal, it is out of date.""We have another system that is using the SAML system, and we also integrate with Active Directory only. If NetIQ Identity Manager can integrate directly, we would not need to use the Active Directory directory.""If it could be operated in such a way that anybody could use it, with just the user interface, and there's no need for programming, then that would be a great improvement.""There's no huge thing missing, because it's already comprehensive. Now and then, however, there might be a minor issue.""The integrations must be made easier.""Areas for improvement are further enhancing the access granting process to reduce time and improve accuracy."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "We're EVOLVEUM partners, and I tried it without a license."
  • "Licensing is defined by the number of users."
  • "The product is free to use, but a cost is associated if you opt for official product support. Additionally, there is an option for a platform subscription, which entails professional services provided by the vendor."
  • More EVOLVEUM midPoint Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "You just need to be aware that the more systems you connect, the more license fees you have to pay."
  • "Micro Focus is flexible when it comes to price. The cost varies from customer to customer. There are no additional costs, though. Everything is included."
  • "The price of the solution is a bit high and could be reduced."
  • "It would easily help them in getting more market and more customers if more consultants knew about their software. If they could keep it free for schools for teaching purposes, it would be good. I had to pay myself to get it and use it for training. Their competitors are giving it for free. I had to pay for it myself. They are losing market to their competitors."
  • "The solution is quite affordable."
  • "I would rate the pricing a two out of ten, with one being low price and ten being high price. It is significantly more cost-effective than the major players in the market."
