We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) is the ability to troubleshoot ports on the network. Additionally, when there is an update on the APs they are able to reboot quickly reducing downtime. Other solutions have a longer downtime when updates are done.""In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich.""The most valuable feature of the solution is Marvis, the AI-driven network management system.""The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis.""Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management.""The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs.""The solution is very secure.""The solution is pretty generic and easy to use."

"Natural language patching is an important feature.""The tool's best part is the GUI. It is user-friendly and fast due to AI features. The solution can help you fix things with AI, which is impressive.""The Marvis feature of Mist AI, an artificial intelligence tool, is very useful.""The most valuable aspect is that they operate on small microservices, offering numerous open APIs that enhance the value of our Wi-Fi network. This flexibility allows us to optimize various aspects such as workforce planning and occupancy management. The platform is highly open in the market, providing robust APIs for seamless integration with other tools. Currently, we leverage these capabilities at a building site, incorporating IoT sensors to gather data. The collected data is stored in a centralized location, and we plan to use AI for analysis. This analysis will include insights on peak activity times, humidity levels, temperature variations, and other relevant metrics within the building.""I have a very good experience with the solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The cost is the most valuable aspect of this solution.""Mist AI and Cloud have definitely improved the functioning of our organization. The access to the Internet, including its speed and reliability, has significantly improved.""Has an extremely good feature set."

"The solution is open-source, easy to manage, and user-friendly making it easy for anyone to use.""We value the auto-host discovery, template import, bulk import/export features. Newer versions also add nice features, such as multi-IP per host.""The most valuable feature is the monitoring of virtual machines.""The most valuable feature is network traffic monitoring.""Templates are good. We download them from the official Zabbix site or the community. If the information we need isn't available, we create custom templates based on client requirements.""Zabbix is very easy to implement.""Simple network monitoring that is easy to install and manage.""The performance and bandwidth are valuable features."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""The price could be better.""The pricing should be made cheaper.""If you want to do more specific stuff, it's a bit limited.""Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""The solution is expensive.""Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) could improve if the MIST platform had a built-in master key. This would be an advantage."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"The solution lacks documentation.""There is no local support for Mist in Brazil.""Juniper should integrate all their dashboards instead of having separate dashboards...Since it lacks the integration of dashboards, Juniper needs to improve it.""Sometimes it takes a lot of time for the access point to connect with the cloud.""In future releases, they need to add some router models. Because currently, it supports only SSR and WAN routers. But adding other routers would be good.""The solution doesn't provide mail notifications currently.""Mist AI and Cloud should be marketed more and focus on making partners in the industry.""Mist AI and Cloud should improve its integrations."

More Mist AI and Cloud Cons →

"I would like to better be able to monitor Oracle processes.""There are areas of improvement. The database grows really fast. So, when you install Zabbix, you have to deal with some issues, like the database. We become pretty big very fast.""We would like to see the addition of automatic push functionality to this product. This would save time when monitoring our servers and networks as, at present, we have to manually install the Zabbix agent on any hardware to be monitored.""Outside of the normal standard monitoring, I would like to extend patching, importing patching, and supporting patching for Windows Servers.""I would like to remotely connect to the computer, and Zabbix doesn't have this capability.""It could be more stable.""The stability could be better.""The APM monitoring has room for improvement, although I hear that the new 5.2 version has some improvements in that area, and I'd like to give that a go. I would like to see a few more templates out there for different styles of monitoring. I use the Grafana interface for reporting. I would also like it to have an out-of-the-box ability to email reports. You can create reports, but to be able to email those reports would be really helpful. I've got users who are not interested in logging in and generating a report. They want it all pre-canned and sent to an email address. It would also be really handy if we could pin certain reports up onto platforms such as Teams or SharePoint. A GUI for the proxy server would be cool to have for debugging purposes and for the support teams to have a look at, but I don't know whether that's really feasible to do. I get enough from the log files themselves."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
