Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ability to share and collaborate on the solution is its most valuable feature.""We use erwin Evolve to publish to the website. This allows us to enable publishing our website using parameterisation features. In a very fast, quick way, we can publish a table or chart onto a website.""The most valuable features for us are impact analysis, where I can easily visualize the impact of change.""The feature that stands out for me is the ease of configuring objects and the screens to show them. It's really easy to add a new type of object in this reference. Creating a new type of object, using it, and evolving it a little bit in terms of what we can document about it are the main features that made us decide to use this provider.""Workgroup Repository collection of data models allows research across models without worry about platform incompatibilities and provides easy KPIs about corporate data assets.""Evolve is like a tank. You can do whatever you want with the solution, but you need to customize it. I think that it's not very aligned with the framework for enterprise architecture. MEGA is focused on these enterprise architectures, but it's only for that. With Evolve, you can do everything you want with professional services.""Evolve's reverse engineering ability is quite useful.""I have not seen capabilities for web-sharing and interaction with the architecture from any other supplier. It's a great capability..."

"We could increase the transparency and speed for the new ERP introduction. The status and changes by the new system are now clear to everybody and it is a great tool to train the people.""All in all, Signavio usability is excellent. Anyone can learn to use the tool quickly. This increases acceptance as employees are not facing a high learning curve. With the offered usability it is easy to model processes also live in workshops.""The most valuable feature of SAP Signavio Process Manager is the ability to do business process models.""The solution is user-friendly.""The Signavio tool is very easy to use and it is one of the reasons why I like it.""I have done a lot of modeling over quite a number of years, and I think that the modeling capabilities in Signavio are state of the art.""This functionality ("invite anyone for feedback") has substantially increased visibility over work-in-progress when it comes to process modelling and overall process management and it decreased the time spent on giving and receiving feedback through emails and through sharing screenshots/.ppt files/Visio files etc.""This product has helped us to work within standards for process planning."

Cons
"Evolve is primarily focused on the entity's licenses diagrams, but it would be nice if erwin could integrate case development, so that it shows the ER diagram plus certain inputs on the use cases and how the data is used. That deviates somewhat from the overall scope, so maybe they could call it a different product.""Business process modelling could be improved.""The solution's integration capabilities with other tools in our system has not been all that well done. We have people who use ARIS, who use System Architect and, of course, Visio. erwin has very limited ways to import and export from those kinds of tools. It's not a very easy thing to do.""The solution needs to focus on allowing for more integrations.""I feel that the UML drawing capability needs to be improved.""erwin Evolve by Quest could have additional features to manage the architecture of enterprises and businesses.""If it had fewer features to model all kinds of architecture, it would be less complicated.""It could have had a more streamlined navigation. It seemed that when you went to the explorer panel, there were just so many different ways of doing the work that I could not remember, "How did I do this? How did I get to that point in that model to get back to it?" If I wanted to build a new one, where do I start? It just seemed like there was such a smorgasbord of ways of doing it that it was just overwhelming."

"Customized reporting can be improved to make this a more versatile tool.""SAP Signavio Process Manager's UI is not user-friendly. Its pricing is also high.""The reporting is too slow and there is a limit of 250 processes.""One of the most important points in Signavio that would be a great change would be the management of variants of the process.""It is difficult to quickly digest the vast power of the suite and make use of those capabilities fully.""The product's pricing could be improved.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""I think the interface itself can improve a bit. I think the interface is still stuck about a decade in the past, if I may be so brutal about it. Some of the buttons are really small, so you can't even see them. I think it needs upgrading to the 21st century with apps and the way we use mobile phones."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Unless you are a one person shop – always go with the Workgroup edition and Concurrent licensing."
  • "On a yearly basis, our licensing costs are 50,000 euro. There are no additional costs because we are on a SaaS model."
  • "The cost is something like $15,000, per license. But I haven't looked at those numbers in three years. It was over $100,000 to initially set everything up and get it all configured."
  • "The licensing enables you to differentiate between people who edit the content and the people who consume it. We are able to keep the licensing costs down by keeping the "contributor" licenses to a minimum, and we then just roll out the content in a read-only version for the rest of our users."
  • "Yearly, our cost is €100,000."
  • "I think erwin is quite expensive. I have difficulty selling the portal, in fact."
  • "I estimate that we pay between $40,000 and $50,000 a year for the solution, not including the upfront costs to buy things the first time."

  • "Lower than the competition with highly flexible licensing plans."
  • "My client purchased one editor license and the collaboration hub, which covers up to a hundred people."
  • "I think that the price of the licenses is between $2,000 USD and $3,000 USD per license per year, plus the hub usage. I cannot remember the exact cost, but it is affordable."
  • "I think we're spending about $150,000 a year on licensing costs."
  • "SaaS has no setup cost, just licensing fees."
  • "This solution provides really great value for the money."
  • "We are only able to use the free academic licenses because we have a financial constraint. We are not able to pay for commercial licenses to use this kind of tool."
  • "Although Signavio is a feature-rich solution, it is expensive for companies who haven’t reached a certain maturity level in their process management initiatives."
