We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"For the collaboration functions, we use the commenting and quick model functions for process owners who don't have specific knowledge about Process Manager.""I like the collaboration and the real-time aspects of it.""The collaboration hub, which helps us in terms of being able to communicate with our customers, brings everybody into the tool and close to the process, allowing them to comment and to implement their own processes.""It's way of handling is really an advantage. It's quite easy to use, without too much training . That's the main point for me.""The most valuable feature is probably the nature of it.""The reason we chose Signavio is it's a very robust industrial-grade business process modeling data tool, with data capture behind it, as well as a collaborative nature. A lot of it comes out of the box and requires less technology involvement. It can be run well by the business users. That's what we really like about it.""Process management/Process governance is what we think Signavio is very good at.""It is a stable solution."

Cons
"I think the biggest selling point that Signavio talks about is its collaborative aspect. However, there's still a lot more improvement in terms of what they can do, how they receive comments, address comments, whether they actually provide feedback, etc. There is still a little bit more improvement to be made on those areas.""I think the interface itself can improve a bit. I think the interface is still stuck about a decade in the past, if I may be so brutal about it. Some of the buttons are really small, so you can't even see them. I think it needs upgrading to the 21st century with apps and the way we use mobile phones.""It could be more flexible from a customization point of view, where the user is able to display only whatever he needs.""There is room for improvement in the reporting function. At the moment, for example, while it is possible to report on how many users you had in the last month, you can't use it to tell you how many users you had from the first week to the second week. This is really a drawback because when you have an activity to promote Signavio or BPI, it would be good to be able to measure how many people you had in the system.""The performance metrics appearing in the collaboration hub needs to be improved.""Two executives cannot work on one modeling process simultaneously.""SAP Signavio Process Manager needs better automatic rendering of data.""For me, given I've got a lot of experience working with BPMN and other process management tools, in terms of the interface, I think there's a little bit more that can be improved to match what the conventional BPMN offers. I've been constantly trying to give this feedback to Signavio, to let them know that it needs to be more coherent with the original BPMN version of the stencil."

"Ultimus is not good at handling cash transactions. They should add a mobile application in the next release.""We are looking for a feature that can resign and move the process from one step to another step."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Lower than the competition with highly flexible licensing plans."
  • "My client purchased one editor license and the collaboration hub, which covers up to a hundred people."
  • "I think that the price of the licenses is between $2,000 USD and $3,000 USD per license per year, plus the hub usage. I cannot remember the exact cost, but it is affordable."
  • "I think we're spending about $150,000 a year on licensing costs."
  • "SaaS has no setup cost, just licensing fees."
  • "This solution provides really great value for the money."
  • "We are only able to use the free academic licenses because we have a financial constraint. We are not able to pay for commercial licenses to use this kind of tool."
  • "Although Signavio is a feature-rich solution, it is expensive for companies who haven’t reached a certain maturity level in their process management initiatives."
