Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.""Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."

"Some of the features that were important were a built-in firewall and device control.""The best thing about Symantec is its ability to control our endpoints from a single point. You can manage the antivirus definitions, upgrades, remote scanning, etc., from one console.""The solution is easy to use.""One of the most valuable features is the ability to manage antivirus security. There is an admin console that helps you make policies and do deployment of the clients, to make them reachable and to deploy updates.""It's customizable, we're able to tune it to work with our products.""No maintenance is required after a successful installation phase.""This solution helps in that I can control quite a few computers from our central location, with ease.""Offers good antivirus and local firewall."

"Tanium's most valuable feature is its instant discovery aspect.""The interrogation piece was the most valuable feature because it was very detailed.""I'm not so familiar with the tool but I like the interaction of the console to the picture. Patching is the primary model I have been focusing on for the last couple of weeks. So I have created a proof of concept environment and have been checking the available features.""The solution is scalable and helps to understand how infrastructure works. It helps to improve the health of the organization.""Threat hunting is a very good feature on Tanium. We have just started using it and have not used it extensively.""Tanium has made the process of detecting threats more proactive with its detection. So, the process is easier and more efficient.""Tanium's most valuable features are patch management, inventory, and distribution software.""I like the tool's incident response and security patching."

Cons
"To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced.""The solution is not stable.""The support needs improvement.""The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage.""The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"It would be nice to be able to manage the endpoints a bit further. A valuable attribute would be the management of software inventory, software deployment, and third-party software deployment. I would like to see the ability to deploy and delete unlicensed software. Many users try to install what they shouldn't, so that would be really useful.""The solution is very difficult to uninstall. There isn't really a way to uninstall the product at all, which is quite a headache.""Users mostly complain that the solution slows down the system whenever something is scanned.""The technical support could improve because when you reach level one support there is a lot of delays.""The artificial intelligence of Symantec End-User Endpoint Security could be better.""We are not satisfied with this solution. It needs a lot of improvements. It doesn't detect the most recent malware and unknown threats. With most of the users working from home these days, there is also a need for some extra security layer. That's why we are thinking of going for a better solution that will take care of all of our endpoints and work from home situation. Symantec also has to work on EDI technology. Vendors like Palo Alto and Cisco are coming with their own intelligence and cloud infrastructure in which unknown threats are regularly watched and monitored, and they are reported to the admin.""They provide the updates of the client, and those clients need a reboot after the upgrade, which is something we don't like. We don't like to reboot the server after the upgrade because we have live applications. If we do a reboot, it can impact the business as well.""It should support the next-generation IPS. Currently, it supports only IPS."

More Symantec Endpoint Security Cons →

"We had some issues with the solution's OS upgrade.""It is not really additional functions, or the features that are needed, rather the complexity would be reduced based on the number of modules required to put together a comprehensive operational security and risk compliance model.""The solution lacks mobility.""I would like to have more integrations and custom plugins to input. Integration is always a big deal in a lot of different environments.""They could improve the UI.""The reporting could be improved.""The solution needs to improve the reporting and tracking capabilities.""Tanium’s scalability could be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
