Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""The stability is very good.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward.""The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other.""NGAV and EDR features are outstanding.""We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."

"The tool offers great detection. You need time only to setup the environment. After that, it is just plug-and-play to get the solution up and running. We can also control the PC remotely from the cloud and get all the information in one place.""I like everything about ESET Endpoint Security, and as an installer, it's very easy to install the solution, but the most important feature is that it helps defend against any virus. When the virus comes, ESET Endpoint Security stops it.""The protection and device control features are the most valuable. I found its user interface and integration pretty good. It is very user friendly as compared to other products.""Easy to use security solution, helps to secure connected devices against viruses in the digital world.""The most valuable features of this solution are, of course, the IPS/IDS, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus.""The maintenance is easy.""The solution is stable.""The pricing, if compared to other products, is cheap."

"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiClient are ease of use and simple configuration.""The VPN has proven to be quite useful.""I find all of the features valuable.""Fortinet FortiClient offers a vulnerability test feature, allowing us to monitor end-user devices. This includes ensuring necessary updates, such as Windows updates, are not overlooked.""It is very easy and useful. A normal user with basic information can easily connect to any environment.""The ability to reroute traffic from the user, connecting you to the internet rather than passing through our network area, is very useful.""The most valuable features are malware detection, integrates well with other solutions, and ease of use for all users.""The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiClient is its performance."

Cons
"The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""The SIEM could be improved.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later.""I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers.""ZTNA can improve latency."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"While the pricing is good, they could always lower it a bit.""ESET Endpoint Security could improve EDR integration.""I'm not aware of any areas that need improvement.""It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos.""We are looking to move towards an EDR solution rather than EPP. EDR is a solution that can dynamically detect threats based on the process behavior. It would be better if this solution was an EDR and an EPP solution, this would increase security protection.""The update process can be improved, and there could be an automatic update process when a new version comes out. For system updates or program updates, there could be more automation.""The management of the solution isn't as clear as it could be. They could adjust that to make it a better product.""It's hard to get support for ESET in Hong Kong and China. There's a number to call that goes nowhere. You can upgrade to the premium service, but there are a few restrictions."

More ESET Endpoint Protection Platform Cons →

"Initially, the support was very poor. It is getting better, but they should continue to improve this.""It would be extremely useful to have an automatic updating feature.""In terms of improvements, their SSL VPN tunnel can be a lot better. I've seen other products that have got much better VPN features than Fortinet. Some of my colleagues get this error called "License not available." When they get this error, they have to uninstall and reinstall it. This kind of problem is there, and sometimes, we have to open a case with Fortinet to resolve it. Their support is quick, so we are able to resolve and move forward. In terms of new features, when it is connecting, it should check the endpoint and say whether the end client is actually safe enough or whether there is a vulnerability. It should give a pop-up on the client itself. Because I'm on the admin side, I can also see this information in the log. However, if a non-IT user, such as a user from finance, is working on this and there is some problem, he or she would not know about this and would call IT admin to say that this is not working. If the users get a message explaining why and what is happening, it is easy for them to understand.""FortiClient's encryption key could be stronger so that it's not broken too easily.""The price could also use improvement.""The pricing of the solution should be less expensive.""Sometimes there are issues when we are trying to connect.""The solution could be more secure. I would like to see more safety features."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
