Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."
"The solution was relatively easy to deploy."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers."
"Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"We mainly use Jamf Protect to protect staff computers from malware and antivirus."
"Jamf Protect is a security product that helps us with CIS benchmarks and threat prevention."
"The product's initial setup phase has very simple steps."
"The tool's tech support is helpful and efficient. It also has an active community."
"Jamf Protect searches incoming and outgoing traffic for malware to monitor the network for security."
"I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"The quick updates are really good. If a new OS update drops today, I'll have the Jamf Protect update within a few hours. It's also compatible with all Mac OS versions, and there's zero lag or performance impact."
"The most important feature is the way it monitors the threats and blocks them. About 10 days ago, we were implementing SOC for a particular client. The SOC was not yet implemented, but they had Microsoft Defender. That organization was hit by some ransomware, but the hacker could not succeed. Because of the EDR, the hacker could not install the hacking tools. They were trying to do that, but Microsoft Defender completely blocked that. The hacker could log into the system, but they could not install anything."
"It integrates very well with all Windows workstations or other Microsoft Endpoint products. It also works quite well. So far, I have not had any issue that hasn't been sorted out. It doesn't use too many resources, so you don't have to install different things."
"The comprehensiveness of Microsoft threat-protection products is great... Today, Microsoft Sentinel by itself is a leading Gartner SIEM tool. It has advantages over competitors because of the ability to integrate with Microsoft solutions and automate continuous monitoring of Microsoft AD and Office 365 data."
"The main features of this solution are that it handles everything by itself and is well integrated."
"It's pretty easy to scale."
"Automatic scanning and cleaning of viruses is the best and most valuable feature helping this tool to thrive. If any viruses are found, they are cleaned automatically."
"This is a very go, proactive solution to threat protection using advanced analysis."
"For threat-hunting, I'll put some threats in a test scenario. I've downloaded known viruses that are out in the public for testing. They're not really a virus but they've got a signature. Defender for Endpoint will automatically find those, quarantine them for me, and alert me to what it did. It gives me "automated eyes.""
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection."
"It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations."
"There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors."
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection."
"The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions"
"Intelligence aspects need improvement"
"Detections could be improved."
"Jamf Protect needs to improve its pricing."
"The solution’s stability could be improved."
"I'd really like to see some data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities. More visibility into user activity on laptops would be helpful."
"Jamf Protect protects just Mac devices, and we would love to have one solution for other platforms and not just Mac devices."
"The scope of improvement will fall under the support hierarchy that the tool offers to the latest version that Apple derives for any of the latest operating systems to launch."
"The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The solution's integration with other tools is slow."
"It is currently more suitable for end-users rather than enterprises with lots of other processes and third-party tools. It needs improvement on that front. We had many issues while integrating it with our enterprise solutions, such as Splunk, and third-party tools. It provides everything via APIs. Other vendors provide integration with third-party tools, but Microsoft doesn't do that. It is also logging too much and is not serialized from the process aspect. It has all the data, but it is not in a proper format or not properly indexed, which doesn't make it easier for enterprises to use this data. Other vendors provide troubleshooting information that can be used to troubleshoot issues, but Microsoft doesn't provide anything like that."
"The frequency of the patching, and the frequency of the updates, are not included with the free version."
"The deployment of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Windows 10 is not quite so straightforward. This could be made easier."
"Alerts need to be sent immediately because as it is now, you see some of them without delay and others arrive perhaps 30 minutes later, and it leaves important gaps in terms of information gathering."
"The product development team makes frequent changes that affect the stability of the solution."
"Microsoft Windows Defender doesn't have a game mode."
"The management console is something that can be improved."
"Microsoft support could be more knowledgeable."
