We performed a comparison between SOTI MobiControl and VMware Workspace ONE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The solution is stable."
"The aspects I find most valuable are the managing the data and applications. I can also restrict the users to install any applications. I can also wipe the data if the phone was missplaced or stolen. These are the basics for me."
"The dashboards, the security, and the customization capabilities work very well for us."
"In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response."
"We are a remote company, and the product helps us manage the global endpoints. It helps us natively manage the endpoints in the cloud from anywhere."
"Intune's feature that I have found most valuable is its auto-pilot feature."
"Intune's unified endpoint management platform is invaluable."
"The security-related tools are excellent; these features allow us to secure devices, lock them down, and ensure compliance."
"The product provides us with information about the incidents. It helped us block specific devices remotely."
"The most valuable features are remote control, remote monitoring of the mobile phone data, GPS localization, automobile network management, identity management, speaker logging, and remote management of mobile content."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"Among the valuable features are managing configurations of all devices and being able to remote into devices... We send out configurations for each site that has its devices. Each site has a different configuration, and SOTI manages each configuration for each site"
"The most valuable feature is the remote support because there are plants here where IT staff is not present. We can use it to provide support remotely."
"The ease of access was awesome. The guys helping us out were pretty fluent in the product. I currently have two devices in a dashboard that we're testing, but the solution that they have is awesome. I like that it's a cloud-based based solution, and I think there will be some significant cost savings."
"The remote control technology and screen-sharing absolutely help us resolve issues faster. If there is a remote user who has difficulties or does not understand an error or a problem or a crash, the support team can remote control the phone and see right away what is on the screen and act on the problem. We can debug, we can help, we can reboot the phone."
"The most valuable features are visibility and remote access."
"The platform makes the mobile device management process straightforward to handle."
"The most valuable features of VMware Workspace ONE are security and having support for all the latest features that are coming out from Apple. They're pretty fast at adopting new features. This is one of the most vital aspects of mobile device management systems."
"The contained browser is a good feature."
"Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."
"The bigger vendors like VMware, Insight, and MobileIron can assign engineers to customers. You can work with them to develop the right competency to use the product."
"If an outside person tries to track or hack information, it is not possible without us being notified."
"The most valuable feature of VMware Workspace ONE is its reliability."
"The remote management and location capabilities are good."
"It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."
"In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune."
"The main disadvantage seen today is regarding Linux clients. We have a lot of development resources that have Linux on their clients, and we can't manage them on the same platform, as we do with other clients such as macOS and Windows. So, it should have support for Linux clients. It should also have better support for macOS."
"The technical support could be improved."
"The current Intune reporting functionality could benefit from some improvements."
"There is room for improvement, particularly in terms of compatibility, extending beyond the well-known major brands."
"There is no catalog for mobile access management (MAM) security."
"It should be simplified. I've worked with many different mobile device management solutions, and Intune is one of the more complex ones. It could be more simplified, and some of it is related to the wording that is being used, such as a configuration profile versus a policy. They really should have had different names to make it less confusing."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"We're deploying an application upgrade. We can't do more than three or four devices at once, and we don't know if the device actually received the upgrade. There's no indicator saying it's 100 percent complete until everything is done. Let's say I work East to West. I work on the East Coast and I want to confirm it was done with the upgrades in that region. I wouldn't know until I actually went into it. There's no indicator telling me that it's complete."
"The quality of the support service is poor. The headquarters are not very responsive. And, the actual quality of the software has its drawbacks."
"They could make it easier to configure. While setting it up from scratch, I find many networking issues, and I have to call our network people for them, but our network people don't understand. It's a nightmare to try to communicate to them that this port needs to be open, or this needs to be opened here or there. Networking people are very security conscious, and they're wary of doing anything. So, if you can't tell them exactly why they need to do something, they get really paranoid. SOTI could do a better job of making the configuration of their software easier to understand and more clear. The prerequisites should be clear. They should clearly specify what is required to get this software working. There should be a list of prerequisites that is easier to understand and trust."
"Most of our devices are Android, they're Google related, so we need access from Google to do certain things. There are ways around that, but that's something that we're really looking for. How can we control the Apple Air? How can we get into that app?... How can we make sure that that app doesn't try to update in the middle of the day when our driver needs it?"
"If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes."
"Where they need improvement is not as much on the technical side but, rather, on their communication. In general, that has been poor. Account management and communication could be greatly improved..."
"I have used Microsoft Intune but it is more complicated than SOTI MobiControl."
"From an identity perspective, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to integration with other solutions. I would say it needs more capabilities in terms of direct integrations, including cloud identity solution integrations."
"I would like to see some integration with native Microsoft products such as Anti-value."
"I'd like to see expanded device support, particularly for IoT things like SCADA devices."
"Feature-wise, it is fine, but its pricing could be better, given that Microsoft is on a bundling spree. AirWatch would benefit from reducing the license pricing per user per month."
"There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution."
"From an improvement perspective, there is a need for discounts to be offered by the solution since it is something that any organization can expect from the product."
"The length of time it takes to deploy an application could improve."
"The setup was very difficult. It was not as easy as I had expected."
