We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It provides control over all mobile devices that are being connected to the corporate network.""A valuable feature is user enrollment, where users can enroll their devices in their organizations themselves.""It helps implement conditional access policies to restrict mobile users from accessing potentially dangerous emails.""It works well if you have a Microsoft environment.""We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera""It's normally able to meet 100% expectations of our customers.""We are a remote company, and the product helps us manage the global endpoints. It helps us natively manage the endpoints in the cloud from anywhere.""The policy and compliance monitoring of devices and the software deployment are most valuable."

"MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly.""It is a stable solution.""It allows us to have an updated inventory of all the devices in real-time with the ability to add personalized information.""Mobile Device Management, Secure Productivity Suite, and document management are valuable features.""It is a stable solution that functions twenty-four hours and seven days a week.""The most valuable feature is that it's comprehensive - it covers mobile devices and laptops in one package.""The implementation phase of IBM MaaS360 was pretty easy.""We introduced the product as part of the SOC-2 requirement. The tool's most valuable features include keeping the operating system updated, tracking software inventory, controlling computer administrators, and the ability to wipe a computer in case of a security threat. It helps us to be compliant, and it is one of the reasons we implemented it."

"The most valuable features of the Ivanti Avalanche are the remote control and the file transfer.""It is a very easy-to-manage and granular policy-based solution. Policies that you can create per device per user behavior are the most valuable feature.""The most useful feature of Avalanche is remote control — especially the ability to remotely install packages to many devices all at once. When the client has, for example, 100 devices needing updates, it would take far too long to update each device individually. But with Avalanche, we just connect to all the devices through the PC and send the updates out with one click.""Installing the packages remotely and remote control are the most valuable features. There are around 100 pieces or devices, and the only way to send a package to a device is by connecting to the PC and then manually sending the package. By using Avalanche, we can send a package to all devices with one click. It is very stable and easy to use. Their technical support is also very good. We have implemented this solution for our clients, and they are satisfied with this solution. It does what it is meant to do.""The terminal remediation feature is valuable.""The solution is easy to work with. I like its stability and flexibility."

Cons
"The biggest problem we ever have is when something goes out of date after 30 days when nobody has logged into it. We do have a problem trying to get those back online. We've been working with Microsoft to resolve that problem, but that's been the only issue that we've had in the last few years.""The closest Microsoft Intune can be to GPOs, the better. There needs to be more granularity on application deployments. However, they have done better recently with the application deployments.""I expect Microsoft Intune to have more features in the cloud because there are two major functionalities that we need to be added. This is software metering and license management. These functionalities, for now, must be on-premise. For this purpose, we have set up a SQL Server and I hope that in near future this option will be in the cloud in Microsoft Intune.""Intune has some limitations when it comes to application updates for third-party applications. You can schedule an update, but when it's a package setup, you need to supercede and replace it each time.""We would like to see support for Chrome and/or devices for Chromebooks.""No option to do end-to-en macOS management. Slow implementation of policies.""There is room for improvement in integrating additional features such as Purview and SharePoint activities into Intune.""The documentation about the custom image setup could be better. Although Microsoft provides the steps to configure Intune or set up or deploy Intune, it doesn't have much information related to custom images. If you ask, "how can we deploy the custom image?" There is no information. The steps they mention ask you to connect to your on-premises environment or create your own image on the cloud itself once there is connectivity. But I needed to go to multiple websites to get all this information. I had to figure out how to upload the custom image if you want to use the on-premise custom image for Cloud PC. If you have the proper subscription, you must have the right access, like global admin or owner. Then you can add your custom image to that. There are no steps mentioned over there. Microsoft Intune doesn't have Chrome browser support. I would like to have that support because they will want it if we pitch the product to clients."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"Sometimes IBM MaaS360 seems buggy...The solution's technical support team is sometimes slow to respond and not competent enough.""The solution needs to offer live technical support. Right now, it's just a chat window and it's rather unhelpful.""The UI has room for improvement.""The interface is clunky and the layout is a bit outdated. Also, I don't think MaaS360 has as many features as Intune. It doesn't integrate with Office as seamlessly as Intune does, which isn't surprising, given that Intune and Office are Microsoft products.""IBM MaaS360 can improve the location reporter. There is a 15-minute delay and this does not allow for any usefulness.""It's difficult for someone like me to set up a phone that doesn't require a SIM card, like Apple's new phones.""User interface is basic and not very intuitive.""Can be added process of export/import environment configuration to simplify any migration processes."

More IBM MaaS360 Cons →

"The tool's stability could be better.""There is a lack of flexibility.""In future releases, I would like to see more automation or bringing in AI into to understand device behavior.""The solution can improve by adding a kiosk mode option to the devices.""Its price could be improved. It could be cheaper. I would like to see a better approach for Android and an easy way to send packages and manage devices.""Because our clients are all very satisfied with Ivanti from their side, there is little I can say about room for improvement. However, I think that to stay competitive with other solutions offering a similiar solution, Ivanti could look into making their products more affordable."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
