Highly flexible, useful stroage, and reliable
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of Google Drive Enterprise is storage and the mobile version. We can connect to Google Drive, on our Android phones and store all our documents, for later access at any time. It is a very flexible solution."
  • "Google Drive Enterprise could improve the integrations. We do not use the tool very much for our corporate desktops. Additionally, Google collects a lot of personal data from the customers which is not very good and this is one of the reasons we do not use it for our corporation."

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Google Drive Enterprise is storage and the mobile version. We can connect to Google Drive, on our Android phones and store all our documents, for later access at any time. It is a very flexible solution.

What needs improvement?

Google Drive Enterprise could improve the integrations. We do not use the tool very much for our corporate desktops. Additionally, Google collects a lot of personal data from the customers which is not very good and this is one of the reasons we do not use it for our corporation.

In a future release, the solution should be able to integrate better with Microsoft solutions, such as Outlook, Teams, and Office.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Google Drive Enterprise is good. They give you approximately 25 GB of data to use.

How are customer service and support?

I have not used the support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Microsoft OneDrive. It is well integrated with other solutions and is more secure with encryption options. This is why we use it for our corporation over other solutions, such as Google Drive Enterprise.

Google Drive Enterprise has a strong edge over other solutions when you are using mobile devices and many of the functions are simple to use and perform quicker.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Google Drive Enterprise is simple. Most people already have a Google account and it's quite easy to set up.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten.

Useful synchronization feature, highly scalable, and simple installation
Pros and Cons
  • "I have found the most valuable feature to be the Google Drive synchronization."
  • "The feature for synchronization of data from multiple systems with the same single ID is not happening in Google Drive. This feature should be added. For example, if I have only one single mail ID and I'm using it in a different location to upload different data, this is the challenge. It is happening from one system or one server. The synchronization of data from the local system to Google Drive will not happen if the IDs are the same. If I'm using it for different systems in different locations, synchronization is not happening. The system hets logged out. This feature is very important for us and they need to add it."

What is our primary use case?

We use Google Drive Enterprise for storing data from the servers and backup all data.

What is most valuable?

I have found the most valuable feature to be the Google Drive synchronization.

What needs improvement?

The feature for synchronization of data from multiple systems with the same single ID is not happening in Google Drive. This feature is very important for us and they need to add it.

One location I can synchronize but multiple locations with the same ID, will not work.

In a future release, they could make the solution more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is highly stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is highly scalable, I would give it a ten out of ten.

We have approximately 450 G Suite mail IDs and for storage purposes, we are using approximately five to six mail IDs for synchronization.

How are customer service and support?

We have a third-party company that provides us with support.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is simple and user-friendly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of Google Drive Enterprise is very good. There are different prices from different vendors, it priced competitively. For example, if I purchase a mail ID directly from Google, it'll cost me 2,500 rupees plus GST. If I buy the same from the third-party vendors, it'll be less than 2,000 rupees. On Google's website, they will quote a very high price but they should not do this. I should be able to purchase from Google at a cheaper price than what I do from third parties.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated Amazon AWS and IBM solutions. Amazon AWS has competitive prices for cloud storage and backups.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten.

It allows me to transfer files between multiple devices at the same time
Pros and Cons
  • "I like how Google Drive syncs content across all my devices. It allows me to transfer files between multiple devices at the same time. I also like the versioning features."
  • "You cannot upload multiple files with the same name to Google Drive. I'm not sure how relevant it is for other users, but I have multiple files with the same name that I'm unable to upload to a single folder."

What is our primary use case?

I work on Google Drive for personal use.

What is most valuable?

I like how Google Drive syncs content across all my devices. It allows me to transfer files between multiple devices at the same time. I also like the versioning features.

What needs improvement?

You cannot upload multiple files with the same name to Google Drive. I'm not sure how relevant it is for other users, but I have multiple files with the same name that I'm unable to upload to a single folder.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive for around eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive is scalable, but you have subscription fees to go to the next tier to save more data.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Google Drive is simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise eight out of 10 for pricing.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise nine out of 10.

It's easy to create folders and sort things by sliding them in and out
Pros and Cons
  • "I like that you can easily create folders and sort things by sliding them in and out. I like the sliding option. It's quite nice."
  • "I would like better security because I use Google Drive to store some personal documents, It would be nice if I could password protect some files."

What is our primary use case?

I use Google Drive to create and store documents, like tables, docs, CVs, etc. I also store important documents that I've scanned like my ID, some family papers, and stuff like this.

What is most valuable?

I like that you can easily create folders and sort things by sliding them in and out. I like the sliding option. It's quite nice.

What needs improvement?

I would like better security because I use Google Drive to store some personal documents, It would be nice if I could password protect some files.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Google Drive for more than 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is highly stable. I think Google knows what they're doing with how many users they have.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I've had some documents that we've edited simultaneously, and it never lags. I have some collaborative documents. We have one project with three people working on it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

If I didn't have Google Drive, I would need to carry all my papers physically and I could lose them.

How was the initial setup?

If you have a Google account, you have automatically a Drive. It's almost instant use. It's already pre-installed by Google, so you don't need to do anything.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive nine out of 10. It's easy to start creating something in the Drive and share it with multiple people. All you need is an email account. It's a great service.

I would recommend Google Drive, depending on what purpose you want to use it for. It's great to have your files on you everywhere, but Google Drive may not be the best solution for every purpose. It's an all-around solution, not specialized.

Easy to use and allows for collaboration between users
Pros and Cons
  • "can create Google Docs links directly in Google Drive and choose whether to give edit or view access. As the owner of the link, I like that flexibility."
  • "One problem I face is that online storage capacity is limited these days."

What is our primary use case?

As a student, I use Google Drive to share documents with other students. Google Drive is useful for students like me who need to upload assignments, which can be in various formats like Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, etc. Teachers can also share unusually large files with students by sharing links instead of emailing them directly, which helps to share larger files that cannot be shared via Gmail.

What is most valuable?

With Google Drive, I can create my own folders and share them with my friends. I can create Google Docs links directly in Google Drive and choose whether to give edit or view access. As the owner of the link, I like that flexibility.

What needs improvement?

One thing about Google Drive is that it's not really compatible with Microsoft Drive. For example, if I have Microsoft OneDrive and want to share files in an Excel format, it shows up in my Google Sheets format on Google Drive. It can cause formatting issues between both drives, making it difficult to work with other companies like Microsoft.

One more problem I face is that online storage capacity is limited these days. So, if you want more capacity in your cloud, you need to pay for it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's quite stable. For example, if I have a link to a Google Drive, that link usually works. I can create many files like Google Docs, Google Sheets, or Google Forms. Recently, I was working with Google Forms, and there's an option for shortening the URL of the form as well. Whenever I share that link, the shortened link also usually works, and as the owner of the form, I can easily see how many responses I've got and analyze those responses.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I've only used it within my capacity. But because everyone now has a Google account, it would be quite scalable. Approximately 10,000 people in my college within my university are using it. We would like to increase the capacity because it should be more compatible with Microsoft.

How was the initial setup?

It was quite easy to set up since everyone nowadays has a Google account. You can log in and access your Google Drive with a Google account.

What about the implementation team?

No expertise is required because you just need to sign in to your Google account.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have two Google accounts, one is my personal Google account, and the one where I use Drive more is from my university, so my university would be paying some amount, but I'm not sure about that.

What other advice do I have?

I have limited exposure to Microsoft OneDrive as well, but I would definitely recommend Google's Cloud and Google Drive due to their storage capacity and ease of use.

I would rate it an eight out of ten. One thing I recommend is that Google Drive Enterprise should provide a proper outline of how much memory is available in the cloud, and if they plan to increase their prices, the pricing should be transparent from their end.

The environment, ecosystem and elements bundled with the solution are not strong
Pros and Cons
  • "I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location."
  • "The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution at my job at least once a week to exchange files. About 15% of my time per week is devoted to it.

How has it helped my organization?

Staff exchange files through the solution.

What is most valuable?

I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location. If I'm traveling, I access files via my mobile or another terminal device. I have access to materials I want to take to my class and don't have to carry anything. I just put my files in the solution and open them wherever I need them. I don't even have to carry a flash drive.

What needs improvement?

The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price.

The environment, ecosystem, and elements bundled with the solution are not strong.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I don't use the product often enough to rate stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable if you pay for additional storage.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use 1TB of my Microsoft Drive extensively for various things. I haven't completely made the switch because of storage costs.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was not complex, but could be improved with dashboard clarity. For example, a colleague sends me a link to a file on his drive. When opening the link, it is not apparent if the file is still on his drive or now shared on mine. I shouldn't have to open the file to store it on my drive. I would like this ease-of-use workflow item to be improved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Storage is the only product offered and that makes it expensive to use. If you compare it to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, storage is incidental to other products, suites, and services. For example, Microsoft offers 1TB of storage with the purchase of Microsoft Office. The perception is that Microsoft offers free storage. It is convenient to package products and have fewer vendors with one support team. If I'm looking at storage only, I look at relative costs.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated and still use Microsoft Drive.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution a three out of ten.

It's easy to manage and synchronize files across multiple devices
Pros and Cons
  • "Google Drive is much more stable compared to Dropbox. Dropbox is a catastrophic solution. I used Dropbox because I manage many files, and I lost files because the synchronization between Dropbox and my customer folder was unstable. I use Google Drive to back up my files. Google Drive is the best solution to manage the backup between my Apple computer and my personal computer."
  • "Google should also make it simpler to manage rights and access for different users. I want to share one folder with some people and another with other groups. It's not easy to manage. You have to use Google's web interface to assign rights, but IBM Box lets you permissions directly on the Windows interface."

What is our primary use case?

I use Google Drive to synchronize between computers on the cloud, but I mainly use the solution to manage some artifacts on the cloud while synchronizing on the web between two computers. I share files between different devices, like an Apple computer, iPad, Windows PC, etc. Google Drive is the best solution, in my opinion.

I use all the Google solutions, including Google Meet and Contacts to manage my contacts. I have a lot of contacts to synchronize between phones and computers. Google's tools are user-friendly.

What needs improvement?

It's not easy to make sure you have enough space on Google Drive. I have to connect to the web application to check if I need more space. I would like it if you could right-click on Google Drive locally to see the available space.

Google should also make it simpler to manage rights and access for different users. I want to share one folder with some people and another with other groups.  It's not easy to manage. You have to use Google's web interface to assign rights, but IBM Box lets you permissions directly on the Windows interface.

I would also like to synchronize my notes on my tablet with Google Drive. I don't know if it's possible to manage the synchronization between my personal account for my tablet on Google Drive. When I connect the solution to the cloud, the synchronization is costly, and the account size is small. I want to synchronize it with these types of solutions. You have a simple electronic device to write some notes on, and I want to synchronize with the cloud as a document, PDF, etc.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Google Drive for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is stable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also have used IBM Box, but I prefer Google Drive because it's effortless to install and manage compared to Box. We have synchronization problems sometimes using Box, but I never have this problem with Google Drive.

Google Drive is much more stable compared to Dropbox. Dropbox is a catastrophic solution. I used Dropbox because I manage many files, and I lost files because the synchronization between Dropbox and my customer folder was unstable. I use Google Drive to back up my files. Google Drive is the best solution to manage the backup between my Apple computer and my personal computer.

I've also used OneDrive, but I prefer Google Drive because it's integrated with all the other Google solutions. OneDrive creates some technical problems if you use multiple accounts. If you need to synchronize OneDrive with the two solutions, it's a nightmare to manage because Microsoft can't use two accounts on the same computer.

OneDrive's price is low, but it's not a good solution. It's a basic solution for file sharing. IBM Box's price is low, and it's a great solution, but it's geared toward professional use. I prefer Google Drive for my personal purposes.

How was the initial setup?

Google Drive is simple to set up. You only need to create a Google account.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Google Drive's price is lower than competitors. I have two accounts, including one with Apple that I use to manage some pictures and contact. I use Apple Cloud for only this purpose. I use Google Drive for everything else. Compared to Google, the price of Dropbox is high and the solution isn't good.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive nine out of 10. It's perfect for me, but I would like more space for free for my personal usage.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Versatile, extremely useful, and is quite stable
Pros and Cons
  • "When we collaborate on a team project, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the project."
  • "There are a few kinks to work out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple and extremely useful."

What is our primary use case?

Because we work on projects, Google Drive is extremely versatile. It is interchangeable among users, and every one can edit at different times.

What is most valuable?

We are all in different parts of the world. When we collaborate on a team project, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the project. There is a team leader who reviews and edits everything before we all get credit. It's pretty cool. I'm from a different era and teaching myself.

It's pretty straightforward. You have to have the right mindset for it, but it's pretty simple.

What needs improvement?

There are a few kinks to work out at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple and extremely useful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is quite stable.

How are customer service and support?

I have not contacted technical support.

If I have an issue, members of my group navigate me through it. I have never had to contact them.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The University of Phoenix provides it. I've never had to pay any fees.

What other advice do I have?

I'm happy with how things are going right now because I'm getting used to them. That's probably a question for later, when I am more acquainted with my business. I'm hoping to graduate in May, and I need to write a 40-page dissertation. This is a tutorial of what is to come for me.

Google Drive is popular in this generation because it is so interchangeable. People can look into your documents if you provide them with a password.

Personally, I believe it is a great solution for businesses, but it all depends on how many people you have working for you and what your main goal is.

It brings a project together, which is wonderful.

The world today fascinates me. I remember encyclopedias and going to the library to look at Microfiche.

I think that it is fabulous. I have my own practice. I am in Social Services. This information is good for me and the people I network with. I can bring anybody, I want in, I can create documents and have others look at it and give me advice. I enjoy Good Drive.

I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
