Excellent performance, feature rich, easy to scale, and easy to use
Pros and Cons
  • "Accessing their services is simple, user-friendly, and does not require a lot of technology."
  • "When compared to Commvault or Veeam, I'm not sure what Google Drive has to offer in terms of backing up data on the cloud or in a data center for a large organization."

What is our primary use case?

I use Google Drive Enterprise for my personal use. I back up my files, photos, and other information I have stored on my mobile device, as well as my daily tasks, or whatever is done on my computer are backed up on my drive.

What is most valuable?

Accessing their services is simple, user-friendly, and does not require a lot of technology.

Google Drive Enterprise is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Personally, I can't say what I don't like about Google Drive Enterprise because I haven't discovered anything better.

The price could be lower.

When compared to Commvault or Veeam, I'm not sure what Google Drive has to offer in terms of backing up data on the cloud or in a data center for a large organization.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Google Drive for personal use for nine to ten years, and I've been a premium user for the last two years.

I'm using the most recent version. I use the web version rather than the app.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a stable product.

Google Drive's performance is one of my favorite features. It doesn't take long to load, and everything happens instantly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I currently have more than 300 GB of data on my Google Drive. I don't believe that scaling would be an issue. It's easy to scale.

How are customer service and support?

We have never had any issues that required assistance from technical support.

How was the initial setup?

When using their web version, no setup is required. If I'm using an Android app, for example, I only need to configure my storage. In Google Drive, I have to define my storage and what I want to back up, and it backs it up ahead of time.

Because it's for personal use, I haven't had any issues with it, such as difficulty setting it up or anything like that. It's not like Veeam or a formal setup that requires many machines for that environment.

I am not using it on a large scale, it's for my personal usage only.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing fees are not cheap, but when you compare it to other products and the features it provides, it's reasonable.

The costs could be lower, but they are reasonable for the value they provide.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

The management in my company has just decided to switch over to cloud backup solutions, which is why I have been researching the various websites for products that are best for my use.

I am exploring, but management will review the information and make a decision. I don't know what they're going to decide, so I don't have a say in it.

What other advice do I have?

My family does not have access to the credentials, but if they needed something backed up or saved, they would just give it to me to store safely on my cloud.

For personal use, I would definitely recommend this solution.

I would rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.

A fast and user-friendly enterprise solution, but the price could be better
Pros and Cons
  • "I like that it's easy to use. I'm satisfied with the speed, stability, and availability."
  • "The price could be better. Google should rethink and realign its pricing strategy along with the storage prices because storage prices are going down for on-premise solutions. If they can reduce the cost or increase the storage capacity for that same tier, that would be a great advantage."

What is our primary use case?

I use Google Drive Enterprise for collaboration. We use Google Sheet, Google Forms, and Google Docs, and we can collaborate within Teams very well. It was very helpful, especially during the pandemic when we were working from home. It has been a very helpful suite, not a single application.

What is most valuable?

I like that it's easy to use. I'm satisfied with the speed, stability, and availability.

What needs improvement?

The price could be better. Google should rethink and realign its pricing strategy along with the storage prices because storage prices are going down for on-premise solutions. If they can reduce the cost or increase the storage capacity for that same tier, that would be a great advantage.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for less than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is a scalable solution, and I'm satisfied with it. We have approximately 250 users, and next year we hope to increase that number by 100.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used a different solution before but switched because of the ease of maintenance and managing storage.

How was the initial setup?

There's no installation as it's on the cloud, but we have people to do new user registration and things like that, but not a very heavy technical requirement.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price could be better.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Google Drive Enterprise a nine.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Convenient, easy to set up, and has a nice user interface
Pros and Cons
  • "It is very convenient and easy to access."
  • "The solution is kind of expensive."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use the solution to collaborate with my colleagues. We'll share documentation and use it as an archive.

What is most valuable?

It's easy to share files.

We use Google Drive more than, for example, Google Hangouts. We also use email and calendars.

We're a small company, and we've started using the Google solution, and it's worked well for us.

It is very convenient and easy to access.

The solution is stable.

It is scalable.

The solution is easy to set up.

What needs improvement?

The solution is kind of expensive.

We need a bit more storage space.

Sometimes when we download files, it takes a long time to sync. We'd like files to be moved as easily as if we were moving something on a local disk. We want more drag-and-drop functionality.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable. The solution is reliable. I'd rate it eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. I'd rate it eight out of ten.

There are 30 users on the solution right now.

How are customer service and support?

I've never dealt with technical support. If I need help, I reach out to my colleagues, and they might deal directly with Google. They have found the support helpful so far.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used Dropbox in the past. Google is more convenient for me. I like the interface better and I find it easier to access files using Google.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup process is very simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is a bit expensive. We need to keep buying more licensing in order to get more space. I'd rate the pricing six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a Google user.

Overall, I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. We are mostly happy with the product. I'd recommend the solution to others.

Google Drive could offer more free storage.

For how long have I used the solution?

I believe I started using Google Drive when it first came out.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is always up when I need it, so I don't have any complaints.

You pay for what you need, so I think it's scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used DropBox in the past, but I switched to Google Drive because it's more convenient. You can access it anywhere from the web interface.

How was the initial setup?

There is no installation. You only need to log in to your Gmail account. It's not technical to set up.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I use the personal version. It's not a license per se. It's more like a subscription.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive nine out of 10. It isn't perfect, but I don't have any complaints.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
