Feature rich, great for collaboration, and reasonably priced
Pros and Cons
  • "There's a lot there in terms of apps and features."
  • "We have found that, with Teams, if you are including one more person who is not in the company ecosystem, supposedly I'm inviting them as a guest in the chat. However, when I do that, I can't share files."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution alongside Sharepoint and Teams.

It's primarily used for collaborative work. We use Teams, for example, to stay connected. Word we are using as a word processor. Then for exchanging emails we are using Microsoft Outlook. There are also certain basic analytics that we are using this Excel. We're taking advantage of the whole suite of tools.

What is most valuable?

It's a good solution in general. It's very feature-rich.

The product is a very good collaborative tool.

We are using the entire Microsoft product, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Apart from, them, we are also using Teams. There's a lot there in terms of apps and features.

The Channels and Microsoft Teams are the most valuable aspects of the product.

The initial setup is simple.

It is a very stable product.

You can scale the solution if you want to.

The cost of the product is not overly expensive.

What needs improvement?

We find that there is an abundance of features. Nothing is missing for us right now.

We have found that, with Teams, if you are including one more person who is not in the company ecosystem, supposedly I'm inviting them as a guest in the chat. However, when I do that, I can't share files.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the product for the last two years. It hasn't been too long just yet.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. There aren't bugs. It's not glitchy. It doesn't crash or freeze. it's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product can scale. It's not an issue.

Not everyone is using it in our company right now.

How was the initial setup?

The setup has been pretty simple and straightforward. We haven't had any issues. It's not overly difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We are using the Enterprise Edition. We pay a yearly subscription fee on a per-user basis. It's reasonably priced.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a customer and an end-user. I don't have a specific business relationship with Microsoft.

It's all cloud-based. Therefore, we are always using the current version. It's a product that automatically updates itself.

Before using Microsoft Office 365, some sort of familiarity is required. Most people are aware of Word or Excel or PowerPoint, however, if they're using Teams, they should have some sort of in-field training.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. It has all t business tools that most companies require to run a business effectively. It is useful.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

It's highly reliable and deploys quickly
Pros and Cons
  • "I like Office 365's usability."
  • "As a private user, I do not appreciate the cloud features, but I doubt that this is something Microsoft would consider a feature request."

What is our primary use case?

I mostly use Office 365 for email. I have a license for five desktops, and my family is using all the five, including myself

What is most valuable?

I like Office 365's usability.

What needs improvement?

As a private user, I do not appreciate the cloud features, but I doubt that this is something Microsoft would consider a feature request.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using Office 365 since it was launched. Our company is a Microsoft partner. so we use Office 365 all the time. I also use 365 at home.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Office 365 is highly reliable. That's one reason I'm still using it.

How are customer service and support?

In the company, I was providing support for Microsoft solutions, so I never needed to contact support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I'm still using Linux and Linux features. I primarily use Firefox and Thunderbird at home.

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Office 365 is straightforward. I use it on Mac and Windows, and it only takes a few minutes in both cases.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Office 365 costs 100 euros per year. That's perfectly okay for the features it has.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Office 365 nine out of 10. In the old days, we always compared open-source solutions to Microsoft, and Microsoft usually had the better offering. I'm not sure that's always the case for personal use.

Detects patient data, like a social security number, in email attachments and triggers an alert
Pros and Cons
  • "The functionality that is most valuable is the solution's ability to detect patient data in email attachments. Whenever a user sends out an email with patient data embedded in an attachment, it triggers an alert. The tool can detect a social security number and various other forms of patient identity. Emails are then automatically generated and sent."
  • "Improvements can be made to the products generic offering. It's not customized for health care. It doesn't understand the meaning of health care related concepts. Providing a greater degree of industry specificity would make the tool much more unique and valuable."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to detect if a user, physician, manager, or director have sent out their patient data.

What is most valuable?

The functionality that is most valuable is the solution's ability to detect patient data in email attachments. Whenever a user sends out an email with patient data embedded in an attachment, it triggers an alert. The tool can detect a social security number and various other forms of patient identity. Emails are then automatically generated and sent.

What needs improvement?

Improvements can be made to the products generic offering. It's not customized for health care. It doesn't understand the meaning of health care related concepts. Providing a greater degree of industry specificity would make the tool much more unique and valuable.

I would like to see a more user-friendly interface in the next release. We worked with a developer to upgrade the settings and optimize the base functionality. If the UI was more intuitive, all the user would need to do is click through.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a good solution and it's a stable solution.

We have a team of five engineers and software developers taking care of maintenance issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable because it's a cloud solution. We haven't had any performance problem with it.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. We followed the instructions. Since it's a cloud solution we just opened the administration tabs and created the rules as they apply to our operation. We created XML. We did have to build some code within the solution.

Deployment took a few months to fully implement the solution. The strategy we used was to test the solution within a test account first and after that, we deployed the products and we selected a subset of users to deploy it.

What other advice do I have?

The version we are using is very generic. It requires that you perform a lot of customizations.

I rate this product a 7 out of 10. I give it this rating because it works but it's not sophisticated enough and not specialized enough for health care. It requires a lot of time to customize.

Good applications, helpful for work, and can easily expand
Pros and Cons
  • "It is stable."
  • "Microsoft Word is a little bit left behind regarding the tools it has."

What is our primary use case?

In my workplace, we were mostly using Excel and Word to organize files, to be able to do tables, and handle general work. Mostly, these tools are the ones that we're using, however, it has a whole suite.

What is most valuable?

It's easy for you to create tables, organize your data, write some text, et cetera. If you want to apply for a job, you need to do, for example, your CV or cover letter, and you need Word to write in. The various applications and software available are excellent.

The implementation is easy.

It is stable.

The product can scale.

What needs improvement?

They are a little bit behind Microsoft Word in regards to the ability it has. It has many things you can add, and they keep adding tables, diagrams, and everything in other places. However, Microsoft Word is a little bit left behind regarding the tools it has.

For how long have I used the solution?

I’ve been using the solution for four years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable and reliable. The performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product. You can expand it as needed.

We have more than 200 people on the solution currently.

How are customer service and support?

I’ve never directly dealt with technical support. I’m not sure how helpful or responsive they are.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use a different solution previously. It was my first choice, and I went with it.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very straightforward. It’s not complex. It’s not difficult.

What about the implementation team?

I didn't handle the setup myself; someone else handled the implementation. I’m not sure exactly who was involved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I’m not sure of the exact cost. In the past, it might have been free. However, now, people do need to pay in order to use it.

I would put the pricing around two out of five. It's not the cheapest price per se. However, due to what it offers, it's actually worth the money.

What other advice do I have?

I am a customer and end-user.

I’m not sure which version of the solution we’re using. I use both cloud and on-premises deployments.

If you do not think about the money you have to pay to activate it, the tool offers good value and many applications, making it worth it.

I’d rate the solution nine out of ten. There’s still room for improvement. However, it’s pretty good.

Reasonably priced with a good user interface and great Excel formulas
Pros and Cons
  • "It's inexpensive to license."
  • "I'd like to see them add more features in the future in order to continue to advance the product."

What is our primary use case?

Within this solution, I've been using Excel most of the time, as well as Microsoft Word. Excel is the main reason to use this product, however.

What is most valuable?

The formulas are great. You can play with Excel and you can put the formulas in and kill some time. It is very, very useful for the user.

The solution is quite stable.

It's inexpensive to license.

The user interface is great.

The solution gives users a lot of different options.

What needs improvement?

I don't see any areas of improvement right now in terms of features. That said, I'd like to see them add more features in the future in order to continue to advance the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution over the last six months, and I have been using it quite regularly.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. This is true, especially in Excel. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze. It's a very reliable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is great. I would rate it a ten out of ten.

I would estimate that 80% of the people in our company are using Excel. That's over 60 people, for sure.

How are customer service and support?

I've never directly dealt with technical support in the past.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't handle the initial setup. I can't speak about if it is simple or complex to execute.

What about the implementation team?

Someone from within our organization handled the initial setup.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We do pay a monthly licensing fee, however, I cannot speak to what the exact costs are for the company.

It's not overly expensive. It's my understanding that it is a pretty inexpensive product.

I'd rate the cost a two out of ten in terms of how expensive it is.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a customer and an end-user. I'm not sure which version of the solution I am using.

I'd advise those who want to use the solution, especially Excel, that they should do some studying first. It will make everything easier once you start using it.

I'd rate the solution a nine out of ten. It's great. It's a really excellent solution.

Suite of tools for productivity and collaboration, is straightforward to set up and quick to deploy
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of Office 365 are Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Teams helped us to collaborate more through its call and document sharing features."
  • "Performance-wise, Office 365 needs a lot of bandwidth. The problem is, the solution requires very high bandwidth and internet usage. Meaning, the desktop application consumes a lot of internet data. Sometimes, when the connection is slow, it won't work and it won't load. This is an area for improvement for Office 365."

What is our primary use case?

We use Office 365 for documents, like Microsoft Word, PowerPoint Excel, and Teams.

How has it helped my organization?

Microsoft Teams helped us to collaborate more. We use the call feature to communicate with colleagues, and the document sharing feature is a secure way of sharing through the cloud.

We use it more for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. With the addition of Teams, which is an added feature that I like.

What is most valuable?

In terms of the most valuable feature, I use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams, but Teams is new for me.

What needs improvement?

Performance-wise, Office 365 needs a lot of bandwidth. The problem is, the solution requires very high bandwidth and internet usage. Meaning, the desktop application consumes a lot of internet data. Sometimes, when the connection is slow, it won't work and it won't load. This is an area for improvement for Office 365.

In the next release, I would like for Office 365 to be more of a finished product. It should have the ability to place calls and do system messaging. Those would be good improvements.

I would also like for the license to include a video cloning feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Office 365 for five years.

How are customer service and support?

I never contacted Office 365 support because we have our IT support person who resolves any issue we face.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup for Office 365 was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

I deployed Office 365 in my machine. The deployment was really straightforward and took just half an hour.

What other advice do I have?

Before choosing Office 365, we didn't evaluate other options, because we've been using Microsoft Office products over the last decade. Microsoft Office is the preferred choice here in my country.

We purchased the Office 365 license for 40 users. The solution is deployed in a single location. We are only 55 people in the office.

My advice to others looking into using Office 365 is to go for it because it's an all-in-one solution that they can use for collaboration and other things.

My rating for Office 365 is eight out of ten. I would give it a ten if the bandwidth issue was solved because currently it uses up a lot of bandwidth, plus if they added more features to it.

Multi-user editing and integration with OneDrive brings better focus and efficiency
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the integration with OneDrive, which has allowed us, a small business, easy access to a cloud environment, with no need to back up the data from five different computers."
  • "Integration between Outlook calendar and Google Calendar would be a good improvement since many of our team use Android phones and personal Gmail accounts as their main calendar application."

What is our primary use case?

Our team is comprised of five people in a small consultant firm. Office 365 allows for all team members to work on the same files at the same time on OneDrive while using the market standards (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for file editing and creation.

We've experimented with free options, but there is no point of trying to work in a file format that is different from that of our clients. That's the main reason that led us to Office 365.

All of our workstations are Windows 10 and Office runs perfectly.

How has it helped my organization?

Easy sharing of files between team members in different locations, using both OneDrive and Office 365 (desktop and online), has improved efficiency by two times. Before using this solution, we had to rely on email to send files back and forth. No more renaming a document V1, V2, V10, Vn. Just open, edit, and let the seamless integration of Office and OneDrive deal with versions and edits.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the integration with OneDrive, which has allowed us, a small business, easy access to a cloud environment, with no need to back up the data from five different computers.

The multiple-user editing capability is helpful, improving the productivity of our team on creating and editing files together, even when in different physical locations.

File formats that are the market standard (docx, xlsx, pptx), is an important and relevant need to deal with clients' provided files.

What needs improvement?

In general, the desktop apps could be a little leaner and open faster in less powerful machines.

The interface for Outlook could use a refresh, to make it more like the other software in the suite.

Integration between Outlook calendar and Google Calendar would be a good improvement since many of our team use Android phones and personal Gmail accounts as their main calendar application.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Office 365 is very stable. Actually, it is more stable than other similar solutions we have tried in the past (Libre Office).

How are customer service and technical support?

MS has excellent support and tech support. They really engage in solving the issues you might have with the software.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We tried Google Docs, but it messed the formatting on our complex - designed - documents. We have also tried Libre Office, but with similar results. Only by using Office 365 were we able to read and create documents without any formatting issues.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy and our team handled it by themselves. MS support gave some advice when needed.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the implementation in-house.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate options beyond Google Docs and Libre Office. Once we understood that there was no point on going against the market standard for file formats, we went straight to Office 365.

What other advice do I have?

If you need, reach out to MS support. They were really helpful in setting things up for our team.

High level support, flexible, and useful automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The most innovative feature of Office 365 is the Power Apps, which allows us to automate literally everything that we want automated. For example, sending attachments to specific folders on SharePoint, adding people's SharePoint when certain apps are performed, or emailing certain people at certain instances, such as when you've done a follow-up with the CRM and you need a marketing email to be sent out at a particular point."
  • "I rate the support of Office 365 a four out of five."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Office 365 mainly for emails, document storage, SharePoint, and the Power Apps to build our own in-house applications.

What is most valuable?

For example, sending attachments to specific folders on SharePoint, adding people's SharePoint when certain apps are performed, or emailing certain people at certain instances, such as when you've done a follow-up with the CRM and you need a marketing email to be sent out at a particular point.

I have been using Office 365 for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Office 365 is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have found Office 365 to be scalable.

We have approximately 25 people using this solution in my organization. All of our departments are using it.

The organization is growing rapidly, as we onboard more users, we'll be using Office 365 a bit more. We typically recommend Office 365 to our clients. The feedback that we have received from our clients is it's a solution they're willing to stay with.

How are customer service and support?

Support Office 365 is at a high level. Any time I have an issue, support is always there. Whether it's by email or call back, the response is very prompt. I usually receive my issues resolved within less than eight hours.

I rate the support of Office 365 a four out of five.

How was the initial setup?

The setup of Office 365 was straightforward because I'm the one who did the initial setup as my background is in web dev. Additionally, starting the configuration was pretty easy for me.

A hybrid deployment of Office 365 took approximately two days to have all their emails migrated and everyone up and running.

What about the implementation team?

We did the implementation in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a license to use this solution. We have an E3 license which covers many different solutions.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We have evaluated other solutions and we settled on Office 365 because of the stability and flexibility.

What other advice do I have?

Office 365 itself is very organization-friendly,  if you're an organization that is looking for a solution that will sort out all your office problems, then definitely it's a solution that you'd be looking for.

I rate Office 365 an eight out of ten.
