Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Blue Prism provides both on-premises and cloud versions.""One of the most powerful features in Blue Prism is exception handling. It's one of the features that really differentiates it from other platforms.""We found the unassisted bots very useful because they can program a variety of different processes. This is a valuable feature of Blue Prism, especially when compared to other tools on the market.""The integration has improved a lot in terms of SAP, and other screens.""The object design way of implementing things actually brings a lot of reusability for us because you can design your objects once and leverage them in multiple automations.""The performance is very good and it is a valuable feature.""RPA processes are helpful when we need interaction with different applications and close the technical gaps between them. In one of the use cases that we evaluated, there was a single Excel template from a vendor. The Excel file has 7,000 objects, and it included information about the part numbers, prices, and some of the details about each object of the aircraft. This file had to be input to SAP, so a human had to enter these 7,000 objects one by one, which is a pretty mechanical and uninteresting task. The RPA bot was easily able to import this file. Without RPA, this import had to be done by a person who had to do the same task 7,000 times just to import one contract.""It offers assessments by way of a robotics or automation readiness assessment tool, which was quite helpful."

"We have a very large operational team and we are able to avoid mistakes and ensure accuracy and speed using Pega.""Pega is also broadening its landscape by building on top of PRPC (CRM, EPC, etc.), and with a cloud offering available, it is a genuine contender to compete with Salesforce.""The most valuable aspect for myself was access to the .net framework. If I couldn't figure something out using the objects that they had provided, I could bring in the .net objects and do so using similar logic that I would in a .net or C sharp coding language. Having that familiarity was helpful.""Pega Robotics offers all the required features to build end-to-end process automation like any other similar tools. It's unique development style using data line and control flow line makes it easy to debug through the flow.""The low-code/no-code development aspect of the solution is great.""The tech support is highly available and there is plenty of online training available.""It is a good and matured solution.""It helped cut short the release cycle by almost 40% compared to the previous solution."

Cons
"A feature that I would like to see in the next release is the ability to easily call on the robots to fulfill part of the process, and be run by the users in the business, where the robot can simply be activated rather than running mass processes from a control room.""In the next release of this solution, I would like to see support for attended robots.""The tool needs to work on its security aspect since there is a lot of regulatory compliance for enterprises like the GDPR. The product needs to improve the data login policy as well. They also need to come up with a mechanism where every change and upgrade happens within the element of the target application. Our partner struggles to keep up with the cybersecurity guidelines of my company.""The deployment of the bots should be much faster and more intuitive.""Our primary challenge at present is that we are finding it difficult to get additional business insights into existing processes so that we can identify where we need to improve.""I would like to see wider integration with other products.""Blue Prism could improve by having better integration with Computer Vision.""From a monitoring perspective, the way the screens are set up, or the reporting within Blue Prism, is not really user-friendly. You need a technical person to basically put that up. It's not necessarily easily viewable."

More Blue Prism Cons →

"In this modern world, in this automation space, if Pega could provide more options that are user-friendly and provide a way to quickly develop an automation solution that is drag-and-drop with a minimal coding approach, then it would be great for automation.""Pega has a no-code low-code environment. We do everything based on established rules. You kind-of have to learn how all their rules work and how it works for robotics before you can use the solution effectively.""It is still a niche skill and resources are scarce in the market unless big IT companies are involved.""They have tied the deployment with the Pega BPM product, the robot manager. You need to have the BPM installed.""The handwritten structured and semi-structured data recognition accuracy is much lower and is an area that definitely needs to improve.""The ease-of-use could be improved.""I have faced many scenarios in the business workflow, where a few applications run on the Citrix environment. That could be a critical part of the process without which business won't be able to accept the automation solution. Because of one small bottleneck, you will lose a very good candidate for process automation.""The way integration classes are created could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Blue Prism is pretty steep compared to the others, much more than Automation Anywhere."
  • "We really don't bear the costs. The cost is borne by the customer. It runs into about $100,000 per year per customer for Blue Prism. We normally budget around $30,000 for the first year for the hardware, setup, and people cost."
  • "Other than your infrastructure, in terms of servers that you have to set up, I don't think that there are any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
  • "Compared to other tools on the market, it is one of the most expensive."
  • "The pricing is really good for an enterprise-level solution. It's quite scalable and it's quite comparable with the market."
  • "Our licensing fees are approximately $5,000 USD per year."
  • "The licensing fees are low compared to other tools."
  • "Blue Prism is less expensive than some of the other RPA solutions."

  • "I was not involved in licensing and pricing, but it is worth the cost."
  • "Pega is pretty costly."
  • "Pega Robotic Process Automation is an expensive solution."
  • "In terms of Pega Robotic Process Automation pricing, I would rate it a five out of five because the solution has a good price. Pricing is not very high, though I'm unsure of the exact cost, based on my experience, the price for Pega Robotic Process Automation is less than Blue Prism because I worked with a few clients that have both solutions and my clients prefer Pega Robotic Process Automation over Blue Prism particularly because of the licensing costs."
  • "Pega is as competitive as the basic players such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere. UiPath is the most expensive, but Pega is at par with Automation Anywhere."
  • "I would rate the product's pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "The licensing cost is too high."
