  • Ease of Deployment: Users of Blue Prism and UiPath express mixed opinions on the ease of deployment of the two solutions. Some users found deployment to be simple. However, there are a few reviewers that say it has a medium level of difficulty and can be complex, especially as the number of applications increases.
  • Features: Valuable features of both Blue Prism and UiPath include ease of use, scalability, and debugging. Valuable features of Blue Prism include stability, flexibility, reliability, the fact that it is robust, systematic and technically sound, good mapping and analysis, security, that it can engage with external systems and websites, helpful RPA processes, good background processing, Design Studio, modelers, supports the multi-bot architecture, good at OCR, error handling, object sharing, batch processing, zero coding knowledge needed, the reporting, exception handling, embedded control room, credential manager and logs, and API integrations. Reviewers say the control room can be laggy and not so user-friendly, the front end is not great for screen scraping, and it does not have an AI Fabric or process mining tools. Other users mention that the user interface could be improved, the assisted automation functionality needs to be better, It is not very easy or intuitive for developers to program the bots to make intelligent decisions, and that Blue Prism needs to provide better training since there is a steep learning curve involved.

Users of UiPath see room for improvement with the backwards compatibility and with the new features that come with UiPath upgrades that don't work perfectly in the initial days. Other UiPath reviewers say having features for process discovery would improve the end-to-end development capabilities, navigating through the network components can be very inconvenient, and sometimes when the Orchestrator gets upgraded and UiPath doesn’t, errors regarding the managed packages occur.
  • Pricing: Blue Prism is more expensive than UiPath. Even with the cost being cheaper, reviewers of UiPath still say UiPath pricing should be more affordable and flexible.

It should have a more comprehensive dashboard that we can use to see the processes that are running and control the parameters.""In the next release of this solution, I would like to see support for attended robots.""The control room is its worst feature. It can be laggy, and it is not as user-friendly. We're with staying Blue Prism, but we're moving it from on-premises to Microsoft cloud for cost savings. We looked into Blue Prism cloud.     For any RPA tool it required have a generic /universal governance model where 


    1. sponsor or Head of RPA implementation


    2. Business analysts


    3.Architects(solution/technical)


    4.Developers ( Full stack - Build, Test and SIT)


    5.Scrum master or Sprints head or Project manager


    6. QA ( Test automation) - optional


    Above generic governance model/structure roles for handling any kind of RPA process.



    One proven way to implement centralized automation management is via a CoE. The best practices of Robotic Process Automation states that the use of bots doesn’t increase negative risks for the organization in the development of reusable solutions. The responsibilities of a Centre of Excellence will depend on the exact governance model used. The most common activities include the following:



    1. Drive RPA in the business, training teams, and increasing awareness of RPA in those.

    2. Calculate the criticality and quality of the developed solutions, ensuring the application of best practices.

    3. Monitor the operation of bots and guarantee that execution SLAs (service-level agreement) are met.

    Business Continuity Requirements:


    To have backup or disaster recovery machines for the critical RPA processes with load balancing using central orchestration in different clusters.


    For any of the RPA there is orchestration tool which handles all the initiation and processing from one location have it maintained well from risks and disasters with load balancing.
