We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"On-premises Microsoft Exchange is good because it protects data privacy.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Exchange is the collaboration tools.""The initial setup was straightforward and fast.""The functionality on the user side is quite good. Exchange provides an excellent platform for collaboration between users.""Exchange's best feature is single sign-on access using the Microsoft Identity framework.""The product works very well.""It is user friendly.""Microsoft Exchange's most valuable feature is that it's old-fashioned communication, meaning it's good for people who aren't able to work comfortably in a cloud environment."

"Message trace is the most valuable feature of the product.""Microsoft Exchange Online is a very stable solution.""The online version is faster, as it is a cloud instance. We can have massive mailbox capacity: 100 GB per user, which is huge. We can't provision such capacity internally, as the company would get burnt out paying for mailbox storage.""The best part of this solution is the security it offers.""It has helped us because we don't have to worry about servers crashing.""The most valuable features of Microsoft Exchange Online are spam filtering, 50 GB of email storage, good integration with Outlook, and ease of management.""It allows us to work from home, at any time or anywhere.""Technical support is helpful."

Cons
"Exchange can be a little finicky, sometimes, or flakey. Last week, for example, I had gone into my calendar to check on some briefings that I had established, and then went back into my inbox, and suddenly the view had changed. I had no idea what it was that I had done, and I couldn't figure out how to get that view back. I took a productivity hit as a result of that, trying to fix it, due to the fact that it just wasn't what I wanted. It wasn't what I was used to working with. Two different tech support people had to work with me in order to get the view back to what I wanted just so I could be productive.""Microsoft could improve on Exchange's hybrid deployment or HCW. They need to improve on that because I was having many issues with HCW in our environment at times.""I would like to see Microsoft Exchange improve their documentation.""There are limitations in terms of the number of emails that can be sent in a minute, which makes it a little difficult for the marketing folks.""For new users, it might take them some time to get used to the product.""Microsoft Exchange needs to improve how it handles and assigns policy and security.""The main problem with Microsoft products is that we're constantly required to install patches and fixes.""They could continue to improve the consolidation and integration of mailbox services to make them more flexible, easier to deploy, and more manageable."

More Microsoft Exchange Cons →

"The solution’s API integrations could be improved.""The price could be an area of concern for many.""I couldn't delete an email account because it was identified as my primary account by the application.""The SaaS platform performance could be improved. At a previous company, we used this same solution on-premises. The data exchange was much faster compared to the SaaS platform and we sometimes experience lags.""Microsoft needs to lower the price of the extra production add-ins for Exchange Online.""The UI could be improved to look more like the desktop version for ease of use.""It should integrate better with social media formats.""We would like to have more automation with Microsoft Exchange Online."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They are flexible when it comes to pricing, unlike most of the other vendors I have dealt with."
  • "It's working very well. There is no problem, but the price is not the best."
  • "Its price is okay."
  • "It's a little bit expensive."
  • "Its price is very affordable, and basically, it is the standard of the industry. We have the Exchange 365 subscription, which includes the usage of Exchange Online. I don't know the specific cost, but it is the retail price of Microsoft 365 E3 licenses. Microsoft's licensing is not very easy to understand. Microsoft changes rules every other day, which makes it difficult for us to understand the licensing not only for Exchange but also for other products. It can sometimes be really complex to understand what you need to have in order to comply with Microsoft licensing."
  • "Microsoft doesn't have a unit price, it's based on the quantity, and they offer great discounts."
  • "We are currently using enterprise licenses for the solution. They are different pricing models available. There are individual, cloud-based, and enterprise licenses all with different pricing models. The larger the number of users, the lesser the price. For small to medium companies like us, we feel it is expensive."
  • "Its price is fair."

  • "I have no opinion."
  • "Initially, we had issues with the licensing agreement, but we worked it out with Microsoft."
  • "It is a reasonable solution."
  • "In my opinion, the online license is the best one we have. It is a bundle that we have from Microsoft. It is a bit high in price."
  • "I think it's just awesome. There's no argument about how much value you get on the per user, for user expenditure. It's really great, I don't have any issues with it. I think it's excellent."
  • "The price is a bit high. It is especially expensive in the Indian market."
  • "We have a license per user scenario."
  • "The pricing is a bit more expensive than other solutions."
