Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are that it's very secure and provides audit trails for our documents.""The retention module is one of the most valuable features. Whatever we scan onto the system can be identified and we are notified when the records are due to be disposed.""The solution is very developed and we are not taking full advantage of its functionalities.""I like the cloud and its integrability.""We found the setup process to be okay since they do offer a troubleshooting guide.""OnBase is a remarkable tool. It is a well-done product. Hyland has a lot of experience in building it and looking for new things for clients in terms of functionalities. It has amazing stability, and it can grow horizontally and vertically. It is built for growth. Their technical support is also quite good and available throughout the year."

"It stands out for its impressive records management capabilities and the ability to handle an extensive volume of documents, even reaching into the billions.""The most valuable feature is that it's a central repository for everything, whether it's videos, documents, Excel sheets, etc.""OpenText Documentum has improved availability and performance in our organization.""It provides possibilities for us to save documents and supporting the business process while doing so.""It is quite good.""The tool's most valuable feature is ACL, which helps to control the user groups that access the documents.""The most valuable feature is that the documents are kept secure.""Two things are excellent in Documentum. Cons
"We are struggling with duplicates and would like to have OCR functionality when using this solution.""For user experience, they would have to do more with the interface. It is not easy to work with and is a little messy. It is getting better, but it is not yet good enough. Other products are comparatively doing better in terms of the user interface. I have been hearing about Box, which is very easy to use and learn for the users. OnBase has to work on this aspect. It should have BPM capabilities. We compete with tools that provide the BPM feature and support those standards. They can do better in terms of the pricing model. It is a really expensive tool in Latin America. They should have different prices for different regions.""An area for improvement would be the training - getting our people up to speed on how to use it required more training than we expected due to the complexity of the solution.""The look and feel could be better. The integration with the user could be better. It could also be more user-friendly.""We need to troubleshoot why our reports didn't get downloaded in a day. There is a workflow feature which powerful but also complicated.""The dashboards do have some room for improvement as compared to the other vendors which are there in the market."

More Hyland OnBase Cons →

"OpenText Documentum needs to improve its support.""The documentation often leaves customers feeling somewhat frustrated, as OpenText seems to expect customers to remind them constantly about the need for better documentation, as they don't provide clear guidance on their documentation practices.""The product needs to improve the way documents are logged together. I believe running it on the cloud or containerization will bring value to it. The tool's Time to Market and deployment cycle need to be improved. Finding suitable training materials for OpenText Documentum is also a bottleneck. If we can find the training modules easily, we can bring together people, give them quick training, and start working on the deployment. It can help with quick outputs.""Sometimes DocBroker cannot see the DocBase.""The user interface can be improved.""An area that needs to improve is how to reduce storage space on the AWS site.""The main issue is the software's performance when storing around 10 million or more documents. It becomes slow and needs improvement. Perhaps it's a cloud-related issue, but it needs to be addressed. It could be due to our S3 bucket or something else. Nevertheless, this is a significant challenge we're facing.""We mostly use the Life Sciences package. That package is somewhat dated. There should be enhancements to the Life Science package and additional offerings to support pharma in particular."
