We performed a comparison between IBM SevOne Network Performance Management (NPM) and ServiceNow IT Operations Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two IT Infrastructure Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."One of the most valuable features is the graphs, which you can build instantly. I have used some open-source platforms in the past, but they are not as good. With SevOne, the sampling in the graph can be every few seconds, not just every few minutes, and that's really helpful. It's really fast."
"SevOne’s data collection functionality is very good. From a collection point of view, we pull SNMP data, which is simple. It is easy to manipulate the pull in the estate. It is really simple compared to some of the other products that we have used. However, for deferred data, i.e., things that we import or don't pull directly, we tend to have a preplanned integration. So, its Universal Collector is really useful."
"The most valuable feature as of late has been the API integration with ServiceNow."
"SevOne has rich API capabilities, giving us the flexibility to control what we collect and customize the collection, creation, and manipulation of now metrics as necessary."
"Data Insight reporting tool is the most valuable feature. They came up with it a couple of years ago. The most pleasing factor is the dark theme. You don't have a white background. It has templates that you can create for all kinds of reports that you can hit on the fly. It's much better printing of the reports. If you want to send PDFs to people, the reports are actually decent. Whereas for years, the old architecture of the PDFs was rubbish and even our customers said, "We have to manipulate your PDFs because they all have bad margin breaks. SevOne fixed that a couple of years ago with the new Data Insight. It's fantastic."
"The automation feature is good because if your CMDB is OK and it is already in sync, then the automation part is good to go."
"The modules and the performance management reports that come with data insights are two of the most valuable features. I also find the reports for Wi-Fi, Netflow, LAN, and WAN for monitoring to be very good."
"I like the tool’s scalability and real-time reports. Earlier, we struggled to give real-time reports to clients. I also like the tool’s deployment model where we can deploy it either on-premises or in-house. We don’t have to carry the data all over the globe. Also, I am impressed with the tool's flow reporting and Wi-Fi."
"It is easy to use and simple to learn."
"ITOM communicates information about incidents and maintains them. It handles tickets change, manages service networks, and reduces IT service downtime for the organization."
"The initial setup is very straightforward. A person just needs to join a team to access the network and that's all."
"I like the solution due to the fact that it's scalable."
"It helps streamline management and processes."
"The end-to-end ticketing process is most valuable in ServiceNow IT Operations Management because its notification feature is excellent in keeping all users informed on the next step compared to BMC. I also like that ServiceNow IT Operations Management is very user-friendly."
"I like the tool's discovery feature."
"It is a stable solution. I have not experienced any system outages during my time using the solution."
"Would benefit with the addition of AI modules for proactive data insights."
"When I started using it, I tried adding one of the BroadWorks application servers into SevOne... it created thousands and thousands of objects from that one application server and we immediately ran out of license... It would help, when new objects are discovered, if there were a way to categorize those objects and to pick the part of the object you need..."
"There are some tweaks and enhancements that I've already requested. One is to be able to make changes per device rather than as a global setting. That has to do with naming. It's minor."
"The GUI: both the dashboard/user view and the admin tool."
"We previously have had discussions on some reporting enhancements. So, we raised a feature request, which was delivered from SevOne."
"Some similar solutions offer end-to-end visibility."
"The user management features need to be improved. It would be nice if we had more granular control, or layers of control, out of the box."
"The method of searching for SIP and the way to create the groups."
"Even though they call it low code there are a lot of customizations needed, especially from an ITOM standpoint."
"The pricing of some modules is higher because they are sold in packages. If we need something specific, we cannot take it individually."
"The initial setup phase was hard and could be made easier."
"There is room for improvement in the stability of ServiceNow."
"If you are new to using the solution, you will find the setup complex."
"Lacks the ability to do its own monitoring."
"There is a slower learning curve associated with the tool's scripting part. It is also not cheap."
"The service discovery tool should include HR automations that automatically remove an employee who is leaving."
