Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Compared to other vendors, it's the scheduling tool because a lot of vendors want to charge you extra for their enterprise-level license to have a scheduling tool built in to give you the ability to set up regular schedules to run and do certain data checks.""The best feature of Automate is its ease of use, which is a major selling point.""We have found the pricing to be very reasonable.""The interface is simple, user-friendly, and very intuitive.""I actually quite liked the no-coding functionality.""This tool has machine learning and voice recognition and computer vision, which are both quite useful aspects. These aren't available in other tools. It's a good addition to this tool and it gives the solution an edge on the market.""We use it for specific cases, mainly secure file transfers, which are vital for us. And it works for us.""Fortra's Automate performs the job effectively and has the capability to alert us of any issues."

"Excel automation is extremely reliable. Excel integration is one of the top features that I have been using. We also have a feature called Document Understanding for processing the PDF format of an invoice by a bot. It has the capability to scan an invoice and then pick out the required fields, such as the name of the vendor, the details of the products being sent, or the cost of the product.""The most valuable aspect is the different capabilities and features that can be applied to different processes.""The useability is very good - even for non-technical people.""The automation and speed of the platform are the most valuable features of UiPath.""UiPath is efficient and fast. There are multiple RPA solutions, but UiPath is very user-friendly. It is very easy and fast to learn.""This ability to customize what we need has really opened up opportunities to automate programs that otherwise would not work properly.""One thing that we love about UiPath is that the pricing is very good. While we are developing, they have a free option. The Pro option is for just $420. Once we go live, we do not mind paying, so the price point is very good.""In terms of ease of use, I would rate the solution five out of five. It's really intuitive and any people that have the basics of coding can handle it."

Cons
"Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be.""The documentation for errors needs improvement as many of the error messages we receive are very vague.""The workflow for variables could be better. The input and output of task-level variables could be made a little clearer in terms of passing those around from one task to another upon success, etc. Things like that could be a little easier potentially.""There is room for improvement regarding cloud functionality; there are a few missing features, and the logging could be better, especially air logging. We can go into logging events and create our own task, but it would be nice if this were more detailed.""We really need a free development environment for customers. Building and testing automation on production isn't ideal.""The technical support could be better. We suffer from language barriers, as we are in Argentina.""Sometimes when we communicate with the ERP system and there is an issue, we are not always aware of the specifics of Automate and the source of the problem.""The OCR for Hebrew text needs to be improved."

More Fortra's Automate Cons →

"The pricing has room for improvement.""Monitoring and statistics need improvement. It's quite hard to export if you want a long, clear report. It's quite hard to do that based on the style and functionality. You have to feed in your own functionality to do this.""The should be more out-of-the-box models if UiPath keeps adding on.""I would like to see the setup improved. First we install it, then we log in with Orchestrator, and then we have to log in to the UiPath website. I would like all this to be merged into one setup.""We still have to test the final product. UiPath's recommendation is build another bot to validate the other bot's work. That is the scary part: If you make a mistake creating the bot, how can you recover from that mistake?""In most cases, the results from the software are the same and not variable. This means that we have to define the variable by editing the flow chart.""The error notifications sent to users can be improved by including more detail.""The product could be made a little less glitchy. Specifically, when too many users are working at the same time, it hangs a little bit here and there."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
  • "I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
  • "It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
  • "While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
  • "I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
  • "The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
  • "From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
  • "The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."

  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
