We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I have tried Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere. When I compare UiPath with these solutions, UiPath is easier to use. There is also a lot of community support.""The UiPath community is helpful because you can ask questions and get tips from other people on best practices. Many of the problems have already been resolved by others so you can get advice from those people. You can also see how other people use the system.""The AI is also far more advanced than other similar tools, and it is free, which makes it a better product.""It has a really good turnaround time for our operations department to start working on claims, because all the information has already been pulled upfront with the bots. Instead of having to go into an account and request medical records or a certain type of document, it's normally already been pulled on the front-end as soon as the account loads because we run everything through the bots.""The insights that this solution provides have been most valuable. We use these insights to report to higher management on the performance of our processes.""They offer free courses for developers, and we take advantage of those. The UiPath community has also had a tremendous impact on our operations.""We are running around 20 bots and have 105 automations in production today. One of our automations saved 25,000 hours. Overall, I'll say we have more than 250,000 hours saved for the organization.""The seamless integration with programming underneath, so if you choose to, you can get a bit technical with stuff. If there is something missing, you can make it yourself."

"If you compare it to its competitors in the market, it is more Java-native.""The document processing engine is good. We're extracting around 70 data points from a given document, and we have an automated extraction rate of 80 percent for those fields.""In terms of stability, it's quite good. It's an internal IP product.""It really does help by either freeing up people's time to focus on more value-added tasks or reducing headcount. We generally have other things that we can get people to do, helping make the employees' work more meaningful since they are not having to do the mundane stuff.""The most valuable feature is that it is easy to use.""WorkFusion helps by speeding up processes. The process takes time. It has business costs associated because there are people waiting to take the next steps in the process. The end result of waiting, whether it is an internal or external team, is that they are delayed. Therefore, it helps us in speeding up business processes and improving employee morale, as people don't have to do repetitive work anymore.""A helpful feature is the analytics capability within WorkFusion. The analytics dashboards, i.e., their Tableau dashboards, are really helpful for building a business activity monitoring layer. These are very visible to senior management and stakeholders, who can see and know what is happening within processes. They can see what benefits are getting delivered as processes, either ;daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly. It is easy for stakeholders or senior management to understand the value for the money that they are spending.""WorkFusion's RPA Express's ability to scale across multiple geographies with limited impact on additional IT Hardware requirements. This has enabled the scaling of Robotics capabilities and solutions across all our entities."

Cons
"We tried utilizing the virtual environment, but we had some issues in that area.""The Citrix automation - the way that it's fragile right now - if that could be made stronger and more stable, that would be icing on the cake for UiPath.""The solution should offer more AI-driven services that are outside of the finance industry.""I find the features UiPath provides to be excellent, but the documentation is difficult to maintain.""The API integrations need improvement. They should build a better framework for the ability to integrate with other external APIs.""They could focus more on UiPath Studio. I would like to see them add more features for developers who have a deeper understanding of programming languages.""Most of our PDFs are scanned PDFs and the OCR does not always capture all the information correctly. That's why the document understanding feature will be good for us.""It would be nice to have physical support, where UiPath can come to companies and do frequent visits for troubleshooting."

More UiPath Cons →

"We have had some problems in the past with the Inspector tool that looks at the elements on the screen. Replacing it or improving it is needed.""The user experience could be better both from an RPA perspective and from a business perspective.""One thing we didn't like was their OCR solution. We felt it's somewhat inefficient.""One of the issues that we are facing here in China, is that we cannot access the material for training because it is on YouTube. In China, we do not have access to YouTube.""It is difficult for non-technical users to use WorkFusion. If we really want to build automation, we definitely need Java developers. Their RPA is not for non-technical people. If I look at competing products, like Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism, or even Power Automate, a non-technical person can build basic automations and deploy them. Since non-technical people can easily build basic automations, they can be deployed in no time. With WorkFusion, there isn't a similar feature that works well. One needs to write code from scratch to build automation. That is definitely a deterrent if we really want to do quick, dirty automation. I would not rate WorkFusion very high on their no-code, low-code paradigm. In this area, I would definitely expect them to improve.""The product could do more to expand its 'codeless' coding options by adding drag-and-drop assistance in building bots for non-technical users.""We are having some database issues, but we are addressing them.""I would like WorkFusion to improve the automation rate when evaluating unstructured text."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
  • More UiPath Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Find it online."
  • "They have a very expensive license compared to any other automation tool. For instance, at $50,000 - $60,000, you can bring in an Automation Anywhere solution. For this solution, you need at least $250,000 to get something going."
  • "It is not the most expensive solution, but it is also not the cheapest."
  • "I can't speak to pricing. It's a contract signed by upper management."
  • "We are on an annual contract to use the solution."
  • "My client is using RPA Express, which is available for them to use free of charge."
  • "One upgrade took a year to do, from the first server being built to the last bot being migrated. This was because we had to migrate all our existing bots. This is the same process and time frame that we are expecting towards the upcoming upgrade. I will end up spending half a million dollars to do an upgrade."
  • "The solution was not the cheapest, but it was also not the most expensive. Workfusion was very open to negotiating pricing and to working within the objectives of our firm."
