We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The deployment capability is a great feature.""The email protection is excellent, especially in terms of anti-phishing policies.""It gives us visibility into threats and, for endpoints, it helps us to prioritize threats. We used to have a lack of visibility, but now our time to detect and respond has decreased.""Defender is a SaaS platform, so it offers more flexibility. Managing the permissions is easier. The solution's automated detection and response features are scalable.""The good part is that you don't have to configure it, which is very convenient.""The most valuable feature of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is the ease of use.""It also gives the vulnerability status according to the versions you have selected. Let's say you have Google Chrome. It mentions the versions it has, and it updates. Within two hours of an update, it is reflected in the dashboard. That's really nice to have.""The risk level notifications are most valuable. We get to know what kind of intrusion or attack is there, and we can fix a problem on time."

"It can block a lot of fake emails.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiMail are its virus outbreak prevention and FortiSandbox integration.""This solution is good for small and medium enterprise companies.""It actually filters the compromised emails when on a network layer itself.""The solution has a user-friendly interface. It is easy to deploy and handle. You can easily troubleshoot the issues of the solution.""When combining this solution with other Fortinet products, such as FortiGate, it integrates well and provides a comprehensive protection package.""It is a scalable solution.""The solution can scale."

"It does a good job of ensuring users are not compromised via email.""Trend Micro has inter-domain security features that solutions from other vendors like Forcepoint lack.""The tool provides a strong defense against attacks. It is also easy to use. Trend Micro Email Security's integration capabilities are great.""Since implementing it, we've seen a significant improvement in security. We no longer receive spam emails, and we're protected from various cyberattacks, including ransomware and social engineering.""Trend Micro Email Security is a robust solution with quick performance. It works autonomously without the need for an administrator.""Trend Micro Email Security has a feature for secure protection of OneDrive, Google Drive, and CloudApp security.""Trend Micro Email Security scans all email attachments because, nowadays, ransomware or malware files are sent through email attachments.""The integration capability of the solution is good."

Cons
"About eight months ago, we started to measure the quantity of phishing and spam that we have been receiving, and it has been increasing a lot. That means that protection for our email is not as good as we were expecting.""Microsoft wants its well-paying customers to finish testing some of its half-baked products, find bugs, and report bugs back to Microsoft's team, which is a little frustrating for those who have to manage it and roll it up to thousands of people across the organization.""We need to be able to whitelist data at the backend.""You should be able to deploy Defender for every subscription without the need to add servers.""We need a separate license and we don't know how to get the license that is required.""It would be better if it were more scalable. It depends on the architecture, but we would like to make it more scalable for both data centers.""The phishing and spam filters could use some improvement.""There is room for improvement with the UI."

More Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Cons →

"Sometimes, authentic emails get blocked by the solution's firewall.""I believe there is room for enhancement in content and web security features.""The solution lacks to provide more visibility when there is a problem, and it needs to be tracked.""What's missing in Fortinet FortiMail is some sandbox information for some of the emails. It's probably configuration-based, where it could be configured on some emails. For example, there was malware in some emails that weren't detected in some of the Fortinet FortiMail sessions, but it should have been configured from my company's end to better catch scam emails, but overall, the solution is okay. At the moment, my company is okay with the current Fortinet FortiMail offerings, but in the past, because of a lack of understanding, my team wasn't able to quickly implement the geographical IP blocking feature. It was time-consuming to implement that feature, but that wasn't a fault of Fortinet FortiMail. The issue was from my team's end, but just by emailing the support team, that issue was resolved, so right now, there isn't any additional feature I'd like added to Fortinet FortiMail.""The solution doesn't scale easily.""Improving the upgrade process, making it more user-friendly, and simplifying the management of hardware components could enhance the overall user experience and appeal of Fortinet's email security solution.""It's difficult for me to talk about areas for improvement in Fortinet FortiMail because I'm the general manager of the company and I'm an engineer with knowledge about the solution, but I'm not deeply involved in its implementation. As I mentioned previously, Fortinet FortiMail is also being used within the company, and I'm happy with its functionality, but sometimes, attacks pass and avoid the Fortinet FortiMail filters, but those could be very sophisticated attacks. There could still be an improvement in the filtering feature of the solution, though the security of Fortinet FortiMail is okay for me because I believe you can't implement one hundred percent security in any solution. The initial setup for the solution also needs improvement. The setup is supposed to be simple, but then the customer starts to complain that some of the false positive emails are reaching quarantine, so my team has to configure it again. There have been instances when Fortinet FortiMail rejects valid emails because some of the service partners of the customer have not been configured accurately, so the system considered valid mails as attacks to be quarantined, so aside from improving the filters, there should also be an improvement in the categorization of emails in the server. My team has to modify the configuration so that valid emails could pass and for Fortinet FortiMail to correctly filter the SPAM traffic. A feature that could be added to Fortinet FortiMail in its next release is advanced AI, so it can analyze and decide accurately on which mail is valid and which mail is SPAM.""The infrastructure could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiMail Cons →

"The only negative thing about Trend Micro Email Security is its price. It could be less expensive.""The send box needs improvement to match other products.""The patch management could improve in Trend Micro Email Security.""The capacity handling and the scalability of the solution need to be improved since I feel Trend Micro lacks in such areas.""Trend Micro Email Security should introduce new features, improvements, and updates which are cost-effective and easy to deploy.""There is a lot of room for improvement towards the phishing kind of email filtering, with the different hijacking attacks, and with the kind of password attacks which these phisher attackers do.""There is a limitation when customers are using their email from a third-party solution that isn't from Trend Micro.""While they are good, not 100% of email is protected just yet."
