Good custom components and debugging capability
Pros and Cons
  • "The UI Explorer can examine the underlying structure of the application's user interface."
  • "I would like to see the replacement of VB.NET with some more popular programming language as the program's backbone."

What is our primary use case?

I use it professionally to build software robots for an international company.

How has it helped my organization?

My organization is spanning across multiple countries so it's hard for me to see UiPath's influence. However, in my office, we are yet to implement the first solutions.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of this solution are:

  • Custom components that can be found on UiPath Go!
  • Debugger with variable watch capability.
  • The UI Explorer can examine the underlying structure of the application's user interface.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see the replacement of VB.NET with some more popular programming language as the program's backbone.

Reduced FTE and a significant reduction in errors

What is our primary use case?

We started with UiPath to automate activities that required gathering data from different applications and posting the data to another app.

How has it helped my organization?

Reduced FTE and a significant reduction in errors. Also, the processes can now be scheduled using Orchestrator and can be scheduled 24x7.

What is most valuable?

  • Tool has a macro recording feature that can generate the code for you automatically.
  • The recent computer vision AI feature. This feature helps recording for remote desktop and citrix environment and enables recording by converting images to textboxes and other window controls. As a result, recording feature for remote environment is now like recording for local environment

What needs improvement?

Improvement in the parsing of PDF files.

For how long have I used the solution?

Trial/evaluations only.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability is a risk with automation tools. Any change in GUI can break the recording. Hoping for more features in the tool to support it

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

With option to buy multiple licenses and use of orchestrator that can run across multiple servers, UIPath seems scalable

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

no

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am using Community Edition which is free

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

no

The selector and keyboard CTRL clicks are very useful to handle difficult scenarios

What is our primary use case?

I am working in a virtual desktop client machine. I have been working as a .NET and RPA UiPath developer. I have an overall of three years of experience in UiPath. I have automated individually, or with a team, and I have successfully completed more projects and also got rewarded.

How has it helped my organization?

It reduces human work and is time-saving. I am automating the insurance based project. All insurance claims are automatically validated and verified, and it sends the mail to the user automatically without human help and without any error. In RPA, UiPath is awesome.

What is most valuable?

Overall, it's good. The selector and keyboard CTRL clicks are very useful to handle the difficult scenarios. Basically, the UI is dynamically changed. The dynamic selector is very useful to select the controls.

What needs improvement?

Debugging and intelligence window. Sometimes it's difficult to debug the code. It gets stuck and closes automatically, or the VDX stops. Might be better if you improve the debugging it has to advantage.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

Versioning is also good. It automatically convert the code after upgrading the software.I haven't faced any issues after upgrading.

The academy is free and offers a low threshold for getting on the UiPath train

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case is probably the swivel chair operations where data is extracted from one system and used as input in another.

How has it helped my organization?

  • Efficiency gains: Tasks can go a lot faster.
  • Data quality: A robot is a human error-proof.
  • Mood: Employees don't need to do the dull, boring, annoying chores.

What is most valuable?

The academy is free and offers a low threshold for getting on the UiPath train. The community adds to this as someone is always willing to help out or someone else already encountered the same problem and solved it.

What needs improvement?

UiPath doesn't deliver on the promise of 'no programming skills required'. It is possible for smaller tasks, but if you want a companywide robot that is a little bit complex, you need someone with programming skills.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

Used for back-office end-to-end process automation

What is our primary use case?

We are using the UiPath platform for back-office end-to-end process automation, combined with OCR and cognitive services.

How has it helped my organization?

In our projects, we provide our customers with a x2 to x6 efficiency improvement, error decrease, and SLA improvement.

What is most valuable?

  • Core activities
  • Excel activities
  • All the cognitive activities
  • Python and customer activities
  • UiPath Go! (good platform for the community for knowledge sharing)
  • UiPath Academy (best courses apart from other vendors).

What needs improvement?

  • Provide a robot as a service model (subscription for the platform services) for partners to provide more chances to SMB to compete enterprises.
  • More cognitive services from Google, AWS, Microsoft, integrated into the platform provide wider capabilities for developers and service providers.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

Easy to implement and use for automating processes in our CRM
Pros and Cons
  • "UiPath has helped to make all of the internal business processes lighter, enabling my company to save costs in time and speed for all of them."
  • "The training could be improved by clarifying more and more at every step."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use this solution for one of our business use cases.

We are building robots with Safyr CRM. They are scheduled by Orchestrator and we are handling every step: Solution, design, followups, stacks, consulting, and finally implementation. Nowadays we are using robots internally but we will start with third-party clients in 2020 Q2.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath has helped to make all of the internal business processes lighter, enabling my company to save costs in time and speed for all of them. Also, we are researching all implementation models to get the resources for a quick and agile response to all business cases within several markets.

What is most valuable?

Orchestrator is the definitive feature for me as it has the real meaning of robotic automation. The Orchestrator in UiPath has a lot of similarities with every RPA tool I have used, both for automations and machine managing. They remind me of tools like Jenkins or OpenShift UI. Simple and cool.

What needs improvement?

Since I am not an expert, I am looking to the training lessons. The training could be improved by clarifying more and more at every step.

We would like better integration with custom environments and external inputs like forums or integrations with other robotic frameworks.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using UiPath for two months.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use another RPA solution prior to UiPath.

How was the initial setup?

UiPath is very useful and easy to implement.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

Had a great effect on the FTEs in my company

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case of this solution is to automate a process that includes and prints out files that contain financial details of an insurance company into an Excel and apply some formulas on them.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath had a great effect on the FTEs in my company since some of the most crucial tasks that were repetitive at the same time got automated.

What is most valuable?

The seamless development experience about the tool was great, and also the big number of packages and the community behind that backs everything.

What needs improvement?

Some more features for the newly developed mobile version would have a great effect on the future of the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

Enables our clients to get their work done within half of the time that it is done manually
Pros and Cons
  • "The tech support that UiPath provides to the licensed user it is really helpful. There were some scenarios when my issue was resolved within 24 hours. Also, I like the constant updates that UiPath provided to us."
  • "As in my opinion, debugging needs more improvement. Also, if we get any other tool or technology which helps extract information from the scanned or handwritten document than that will be really helpful as a user and for our clients as well."

What is our primary use case?

I am using it for a project that we did for our client e.g HR automation in which we create, update, and delete the employee the database which includes master data management, active directory, and SNOW as the used environments for the solution.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath helps our clients achieve their goals like with RPA. Now, with UiPath they get their work done within half of the time that it is done manually. They have more accuracy in their tasks and it has become easier to maintain. Before they reach the office they already have all the work done by the bot in their desk.

What is most valuable?

The tech support that UiPath provides to the licensed user it is really helpful. There were some scenarios when my issue was resolved within 24 hours. Also, I like the constant updates that UiPath provided to us.

What needs improvement?

As in my opinion, debugging needs more improvement. Also, if we get any other tool or technology which helps extract information from the scanned or handwritten document than that will be really helpful as a user and for our clients as well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using UiPath for two years.
