Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The query and dashboard capabilities are entirely good.""Easily able to connect with our other services and easy to manage.""I like that with Amazon QuickSight, you don't need to install an app to use its services. With other BI tools, you need to install the app, so Amazon QuickSight is better for me in this area.""A valuable feature of Amazon QuickSight is that it's a cloud-native service provided by AWS. As all platforms within my company run on AWS, that's the leverage of Amazon QuickSight. Amazon QuickSight is also easy to use, and I find the native connectors from AWS valuable as well.""The ease with which it integrates with different data sources is most valuable. Especially when everything is on AWS, it is easy to connect to the data source and organize different dashboards.""The most valuable feature of Amazon QuickSight is its connectivity with other Amazon services.""The solution is very quick to turn around and integrate.""It is fine for basic reporting."

"Ivanti Xtraction provides reports in a single dashboard. We can ask the executive leadership to review it. It has unlimited view access. You can view the reports but won't be able to edit them. The solution makes it easy to build reports and send them. It has filters, and you can filter the results based on time, date, etc. The view will go back to normal once refreshed."

Cons
"It is a simple tool with limited features. Its visualization set is very limited, and it also has limited functionality. An intelligence tool should not be only for creating reports. Currently, we have to do all computational and mathematical operations outside. We should be able to do such operations in an intelligence tool like this. As an intelligence tool, it should support dynamic refresh. QuickSight currently supports the refresh at a minimum of one hour, and it is not suitable for dynamic dashboards that require frequent refreshes.""The number of features in the product is limited in comparison with the other tools in the market, like Power BI.""Lacked connectivity with other third-party tools and data sources.""I would like to see a feature that allows us to save a draft version before making it public and publishing it.""There should be better connectors for different data sets.""You can't tell a data story as well in QuickSight as you can on others, especially in TIBCO Spotfire.""I just want a few more features to be added.""There is room for improvement in terms of the number of visualizations and dashboards that are available."

  • "It is simpler and cheaper than other solutions."
  • "Amazon QuickSight you subscribe and you use the service."
  • "The standard edition is free to use for exploration purposes while the enterprise edition needs to be paid for. The pricing for this solution is very reasonable."
  • "The Amazon QuickSight licensing model my company's on is pay-as-you-go, but I wouldn't be able to give the figures because that's handled by the finance department."
  • "I'm using a paid version of Amazon QuickSight, paying about $22 monthly. As I have yet to learn about the pricing for other tools, such as Power BI, I won't be able to compare."
