Comparison Results: Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration outperforms Microsoft Defender for Cloud among our reviewers. Check Point Harmony seamlessly integrates with different platforms and services, offers advanced data leak prevention features, and provides comprehensive monitoring. Microsoft Defender for Cloud received mixed reviews for its customer service, support, setup process, and licensing experience.
"It seems quite scalable. We don't anticipate any scaling issues. We have it deployed in the cloud."
"I like the fact that having granular information about the potential threats is received in email."
"The anti-phishing feature is the solution's best feature."
"The solution has a very effective anti-phishing algorithm that detects a significantly higher number of phishing emails compared to the default Microsoft solution."
"Machine Learning and AI for email security have helped all the organization's members to guard their information against insecure exposure."
"It is fast and quite effective in terms of preventing any security incidents."
"It is very intuitive. It is a point and click type of deal."
"The API is its most valuable feature. On the API side, relative to the rest of the market, Check Point is decades ahead of its competitors."
"One important security feature is the incident alerts. Now, with all these cyberattacks, there are a lot of incident alerts that get triggered. It is very difficult to keep monitoring everything automatically, instead our organization is utilizing the automated use case that we get from Microsoft. That has helped bring down the manual work for a lot of things."
"It works seamlessly on the Azure platform because it's a Microsoft app. Its setup is similar, so if you already have a Microsoft account, it just flows into it."
"The solution is very easy to deploy."
"The vulnerability reporting is helpful. When we initially deployed Defender, it reported many more threats than we currently see. It gave us insight into areas we had not previously considered, so we knew where we needed to act."
"The main feature is the security posture assessment through the security score. I find that to be very helpful because it gives us guidance on what needs to be secured and recommendations on how to secure the workloads that have been onboarded."
"The security alerts and correlated alerts are most valuable. It correlates the logs and gives us correlated alerts, which can be fed into any security information and event management (SIEM) tool. It is an analyzed correlation tool for monitoring security. It gives us alerts when there is any kind of unauthorized access, or when there is any malfunctioning in multifactor authentication (MFA). If our Azure is connected with Azure Security Center, we get to know what types of authentication are happening in our infra."
"One of the features that I like about the solution is it is both a hybrid cloud and also multi-cloud. We never know what company we're going to buy, and therefore we are ready to go. If they have GCP or AWS, we have support for that as well. It offers a single-panel blast across multiple clouds."
"The most valuable features are ransomware protection and access controls. The solution has helped us secure some folders on our systems from unauthorized modifications."
"We are unable to export the reports from the dashboard, and if it is possible to do then it is not intuitive."
"There are sometimes leakages of viruses when the system is experiencing network failures."
"We have used technical support, but their response time is very slow. It needs to be improved."
"Its guides are not great."
"The next release should focus more on email categorization and provide options for unlocking blocked safe emails."
"The solution fails to support hybrid deployments."
"Check Point's technical support is very much of a low level, especially with respect to other vendors and OEMs."
"A signature-based filter could improve the solution's AI model for spam email."
"Consistency is the area where the most improvement is needed. For example, there are some areas where the UI is not uniform across the board."
"The product must improve its UI."
"Sometimes it's very difficult to determine when I need Microsoft Defender for Cloud for a special resource group or a special kind of product."
"The most significant areas for improvement are in the security of our identity and endpoints and the posture of the cloud environment. Better protection for our cloud users and cloud apps is always welcome."
"Azure is a complex solution. You have so many moving parts."
"From a compliance standpoint, they can include some more metrics and some specific compliances such as GDPR."
"Customizing some of the compliance requirements based on individual needs seems like the biggest area of improvement. There should be an option to turn specific controls on and off based on how your solution is configured."
"The documentation could be much clearer."
