Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We think it's simple. We think it's very useful and we really like reports and everything.""The scalability is good.""Ease of deployment There's a great support team that becomes actively engaged whenever we encounter issues. Their technical support is amazing. Good documentation is available. The product is stable. The solution is highly scalable. I recommend using the solution because it gives verified control over the environment. It has a great visibility feature.""The most valuable features of ForeScout is the fact that it can do network access control either with 802.1x or without 802.1x.""The user interface is quite simple.""The most valuable features of the Forescout Platform are NAC for sharing, Network Access Control, and port sharing of the devices.""I can integrate Forescout with products from multiple vendors in my environment, and also, the integration is searchable. It can be used with 802.1X and non-802.1X to integrate with my existing network. I don't need to upgrade any existing networks in my system, and I don't need to replace existing devices to integrate with Forescout. I find value in not having to spend money upgrading existing devices and networks.""The plugins are very robust -- the ability scanner, patch management system, and SQL integrator."

"The tool provides us insight into the happens of the network and its hosts. It provides me with a list of hosts.""We really love the Security Center dashboard. It basically performs vulnerability scanning and then outputs a vulnerability data.""Tenable also helps us to focus resources on the vulnerabilities that are most likely to be exploited. And since it is continuously updated, it allows us to reevaluate quickly if there are new vulnerabilities found...""The most important features are the dashboard and reporting. The dashboard provides statistics with graphs and bar charts for our management.""This product has the best results in terms of the lowest number of false-positives and false-negatives.""The predictive prioritization features are pretty good. They do a lot of research and we trust the research that they do internally. They have knowledge of what's going on with many companies, where we only get a view into what's going on here. So the ability to get best practices out of them as part of this solution, is valuable to us.""Tenable's most valuable features are the credential scan, vulnerability reports, and vulnerability ratings (VPR).""The feature we've liked most recently was being able to take the YARA rules from FireEye and put them into Tenable's scan for the most recent SolarWinds exploit. That was really useful."

Cons
"They should improve features related to IT security. ForeScout should analyze behavior to see if the behavior is malicious behavior and block this device. They should develop the ability to analyze the behavior of the device in my environment.""Forescout needs to upgrade its development in the future.""Initially, the implementation of the Forescout Platform took some time to figure out. The reason is we are a manufacturing unit and we have certain silos that are insulated areas where certain systems will not connect to the internet or to the LAN. Since there are many parts of it, we have to have an inclusive view of all those systems. It took a while for us to initially implement, but after a few months, everything worked well.""The solution's customer support is bad and should be improved.""For the user, the policy that they have implemented sometimes needs adjustments. Sometimes the features that the customer asks for aren't involved in the main installation, and I need to bolt an add-on in. However, I never know if this policy is the right one when I do this.""I believe that the overall user experience has not always been preferable.""We have found that the agent-based authentication, available within this solution could be improved.""More detailed analysis during the authentication process, especially for troubleshooting access issues. We have found that troubleshooting RADIUS controls is quite arduous, as it is today. A trace function could easily resolve this by providing a means by which access issues from a certificate to passwords or accounts could easily be identified and remediated."

More Forescout Platform Cons →

"The integration is very good, although it still needs to improve.""The reporting needs a lot of work on the template.""The web application is not very functional.""Tenable SC could be improved with additional connectivity to external company postures and the capability of managing and sustaining agents in the systems directly without additional platforms in the middle.""Certain aspects require manual effort, such as exporting and analyzing data for our dashboards. The built-in components of the Tenable solution are somewhat clumsy that require external tools. So, this is an area of improvement.""It's good at creating information, it's good creating dashboards, it's good at creating reports, but if you want to take that reporting metadata and put it into another tool, that is a little bit lacking.""If I want to have a very low-managed scan policy, it's a lot of work to create something which is very basic. If I use a tool like Nmap, all I have to do is download it, install it, type in the command, and it's good to go. In Security Center, I have to go through a lot of work to create a policy that's very basic.""The solution's user interface has some issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Devices with multiple IP's count multiple times against your license count."
