Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is scalable. It deploys easily with curl and yum.""It has been quite helpful to have the daily alerts coming to my email, as well as the Sev 1 Alerts... We just went through a SOX audit and those were pivotal.""An important feature of this solution is monitoring. Specifically, container monitoring.""The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports... It's like having an extension of your team. And then, it grows with you.""Threat Stack has connectivity.""With Threat Stack, we quickly identified some AWS accounts which had services that would potentially be exposed and were able to remediate them prior to release of products.""Every other security tool we've looked is good at containers, or at Kubernetes, is good at AWS, or at instance monitoring. But nobody is good at tying all of those things together, and that's really where Threat Stack shines.""There has been a measurable decrease in the meantime to remediation... because we have so many different tech verticals already collated in one place, our ability to respond is drastically different than it used to be."

"We are able to stay compliant with many of the regulations.""The biggest benefit for us was the time frame to complete a ticket. It went from approximately a week and a half to two weeks down to about three days.""Being able to customize your own clarity to that aspect of change management.""We use Tufin to clean up our firewall policies. It benefits us, because you can run a query for whatever your cleanup criteria is, e.g., "Has it been hit in 90 days?" It displays the list, then you can see the rules right there. If you want to get rid of it (or highlight it), then it creates a ticket that goes ahead and flags them all as disabled. While you can delete them, we always disable first. Then, we have a strip that comes back, and if it's been disabled for 90 days, then the system will remove them.""We were hit by the NotPetya attack. Therefore, our whole company and all its sites were down for several months. So, you don't have an attack like that and not need something like Tufin. Other companies can prevent these attacks, or at least slow them down, by having this type of a tool. We will never go back.""The change workflow process is flexible and customizable. I was really impressed with it. It's pretty easy. You can add automatic validation steps. Depending on the security matrix, you can pre-allow whatever flow you want.""You can easily scale the solution if you need to.""This has helped us to better clean up and audit changes to the firewall policy."

Cons
"The API - which has grown quite a bit, so we're still learning it and I can't say whether it still needs improvement - was an area that had been needing it.""The one thing that we know they're working on, but we don't have through the tool, is the application layer. As we move to a serverless environment, with AWS Fargate or direct Lambda, that's where Threat Stack does not have the capacity to provide feed. Those are areas that it's blind to now...""The solution’s ability to consume alerts and data in third-party tools (via APIs and export into S3 buckets) is moderate. They have some work to do in that area... The API does not mimic the features of the UI as far as reporting and pulling data out go. There's a big discrepancy there.""The compliance and governance need improvement.""The user interface can be a little bit clunky at times... There's a lot of information that needs to be waded through, and the UI just isn't great.""I would like further support of Windows endpoint agents or the introduction of support for Windows endpoint agents.""It shoots back a lot of alerts.""The reports aren't very good. We've automated the report generation via the API and replaced almost all the reports that they generate for us using API calls instead."

"We would like Tufin to have interoperability with Juniper products, along with official support.""Our project is running on Riverbed for SDN. I don't know if Tufin can integrate with Riverbed. Other than that, I have no issues with this product.""I would like to see visibility into the FW features like IPS/Content Filter policies, the same way it does for FW rules/policies.""Their pricing can be better. It is not very transparent.""I would like to see AI elements included with this solution.""The topology needs improvement. If I click on the network tab, I can go get a cup of coffee, come back, and my topology is still not painted. Maybe, it's just because we have so many devices, but looking at the topology, it is too slow. The problem is that when I click on the network tab, I do not want to see the topology. I want to click on the "Next" button, so I can put in the source and destination, so I can see the path. However, I still have to sit there and wait for the topology to load, and it's frustrating. I'll click on topology and try to click that "Next" button in time to where I can get around it. But, typically, you have to wait for that topology to paint. When it paints it, it's just a bunch of black smudges because there is just so much there. It can't paint it to where you see something. I can always zoom out, or something like that, but it's really worthless.""We would like to see automation metrics, from a reporting standpoint. We would also like to see automation of site-to-site VPN tunnels. We would like to see automation of Check Point application-based firewall rules.""The product that we have deployed for our main process gets bogged down in terms of its response. Maybe, we need to deploy a slightly smaller box. Eventually, we need to discuss this with Tufin is to see if we can move over to some sort of VM environment where we can add more processing power to it."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by PeerSpot users currently using the Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform solution.

Skyler C., Software Development Manager at Rent Dynamics, says, “The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports. We jump on calls monthly to set goals and roadmaps internally for how we can secure our platform more. Their SecOps program is absolutely amazing when you do not have a dedicated resource for security.”

An IT Engineer at a consultancy mentions, “The platform has a good threat and vulnerability manager with very helpful technical support. The scalability is great.”
