Hi in my opinion the HPE5900 is a TOR class switch – w. 1/10 GbE ports, some models w. 40GbE Uplink while the EX4600 is more a carrier-class switch w. some 1GbE but a high 10/40GbE port capacity so it depends what the requester is trying to achieve, which backbone…
