Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The important feature is integration with source data. It connects to various ERP systems, including Workday, Intact, and others. It can also import actuals and compare them to PlanPoint quite easily.""It's very simple to create a new version and do some more modeling based on your need for planning things like headcount, other expenses, and revenue, everything is configurable within Workday.""The biggest feature is the source of truth for all of our budget and forecast versions.""Changes to corporate structure, account codes are updated in all versions including prior years, hence "one-version of truth" as claimed.""Automated reporting.""It helps develop a more unified work format throughout the company.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard.""Reports are allowed to be edited for aesthetic purposes, which is lacking in a lot of other dashboard tools."

"The system is quite flexible. Based on our requirements, we create different cubes that can help us to do complete planning.""The ETL itself was pretty useful and it's integrated in the tenant itself. So the Olap service technology was impressive to me. In order to extract that and load it in the tube in the same tenant or the same tool that was something magnificent because I actually missed this in SEB. SEB requires another tool, and you have to integrate all the tools together. But for Jedox, it was in the one tool.""We can configure and have complete freedom while creating solutions.""The solution is very versatile.""We use the tool for performance management and planning.""The ease of reporting is one of Jedox's most valuable features.""The data entry point is most valuable. The way we can customize our report or do data entry is very good.""The solution is quick with analysis and calculation. The tool offers high digitalization which helps us to run the controlling department with less number of people. If the software wasn't there, I would need two to three people extra to run the department."

Cons
"Adaptive Insights could improve the data designer interface to make integrations easier to set up.""Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image.""Their customer support team is slow to respond and not extremely confident.""We tried Discovery and OfficeConnect at one point and found them too cumbersome, at the time.""The upload feature exists, but isn't terribly useful.""Users continue to become more advanced and are looking for more advanced solutions.""It's a Workday product; they could do a little bit better to integrate a pure-play integration with Workday, which really doesn't do that.""Being able to drill down when using OfficeConnect needs work."

More Adaptive Insights Cons →

"Online pixel-perfect reporting is an aspect that has room for improvement.""There is room for improvement in the scalability. It is a very massive tool. It's not easy to just build everything yourself.""Jedox should improve the design and server issues.""The tool has changed its pricing and it's now too expensive for small and medium organizations. I miss the open-source version which was free and we could do a lot of things with it.""More emphasis is needed on the availability of the learning aspect of the solution. Because unless you take up their course that enables you to be an expert in creating the report, you must seek help.""From a development perspective, there's room for improvement in the area called the designer, where you actually build your reports to make it easier to manage the process.""Being an analytical solution, it should have more visualization options like graphs. When we are putting it, it should have more options. The UI can be made more modernized based on today's market. Sometimes, when we are doing heavy reports or dashboarding, there is a bit of a performance issue because it is pulling up a huge amount of data. That can be improvised by buffer memory and getting some buffer memory feature into it. It is a bit complex because it is a CPM solution. It helps you to get the information based on the different tools that we are using, which is a bit of a complex thing. It is not as easy as Microsoft Power BI. It is also not that easy as an implementation piece. It takes time to convert the business requirement into the proper solutions in the tool, which is time-consuming. It took about eight months to do the complete implementation. We got some training from the partner and the Jedox team, which helped us later on in pulling things forward, but too much learning is required, and too many possibilities are there.""Visualization is something they need to improve. We have already told them about this, and they should be working on it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Everything is negotiable, but this solution is low cost compared to others."
  • "Licensing seems to be worth the cost considering the efficiency Adaptive brings."
  • "Prior to purchasing licenses, make sure you understand which users will only need planning and which users will need both planning and OfficeConnect."
  • "Ensure that you have the proper pricing plan in place."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is reasonable."
  • "Pricing is in line with other cloud-based EPM tools. It is a subscription-based model based upon the number of users and site type if it's an admin or end-user type thing."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is relative to its peer competitors. It's certainly competitive compared to a spreadsheet template that you build in Excel. It can be expensive if you need to have 100-500 budget holders giving input and building financial plans. However, in that case, it becomes an extremely good bargain. Compared to its competitors, it offers an excellent value."
  • "It's affordable."

  • "If you are using SAP, then you will have to take an SAP Connector license. The license across the tool is paying for the people who are using it as an admin or as a normal user. They can work out those costs in a manner that can help. This can also be a point of improvement where they can work out the costing, and the developers have a specific licensing cost. The normal users, who are going to do probably data entry or just going to view the dashboard, can have a separate license cost."
  • "We paid a one-time fee, which included product purchase, licensing, and first-time implementation. We are paying for the maintenance regularly."
  • "Excellent value for money."
  • "The solution's pricing is specific to your requirements."
  • "The product’s pricing will not be suitable for setting up a small solution."
  • "Jedox was a bit cheaper compared to Calumo."
