We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It gives us a report of traffic. It gives us a report of the day-to-day URL traffic, and it also gives an individual report. If we reach out to Akamai, they give us the IPs as well.""It enables us to move faster with new products because we have this layer of protection set up in our infrastructure.""The CDN and the WAF features are the best.""The product is user-friendly.""The product has a good UI.""The dashboard is the most interesting feature of the Akamai portal where you can have a detailed analysis of all the attacks that are happening. You can drill down an issue and see exactly what is happening, who are the bad guys attacking your website, and how Akamai is protecting the website. That is the most valuable feature.""The most valuable feature is the custom rules feature. This is because many of our customers require a lot of custom rules. Because it's a very customized project for our customers, I think they have the best of everything already.""The most valuable feature is the DDoS protection, which is the main reason we got it."

"Identification, ease of use, and ease of modifying it to most of our needs are valuable.""The most valuable features of F5 Advanced WAF are SSL uploading, signature, and anomaly detection. It is overall a high-quality solution.""I like them because I like the security solution. They get extra marks compared to other solutions or competitors. There are more features than any other product I can think of. They're always monitoring, and the security features offer more than other, lesser products.""We can monitor IP locations, but we have constraints from each country. It has a replication feature. Licenses can be shared, taking turns with each license.""In terms of F5 Advanced WAF's most valuable features, I would definitely say its stability. F5 is one the most stable products. Either as the load balancer or the web application firewall, it is very stable.""The most valuable features of the F5 Advanced WAF are the enhanced ASM and the performance. Additionally, the usability and effectiveness are very good.""The anti-bot protection is the solution's most valuable feature. Safe-guard or credential staffing are also useful features.""The solution isn't too expensive. The license allows you to license what you need and leave out what you don't need."

Cons
"A lot of piracy happens in India and other countries. If there is a product for protection from piracy, it would be great. For example, there are multiple hackers that hack your event, and there are some channels that pirate and publish the event on some other website. We protect our streaming through DRM and different technologies. We are also protecting the website, but hacking is still happening. If they can work on protecting from piracy, it would be great.""If we talk about application layer attacks, including WAF, CloudFlare is leading. Akamai can focus a bit more on the application layer attacks and how to protect them.""The pricing could be reduced a bit.""It would be nice if Akamai Web Application Protector's price is lowered and made cheaper.""One thing I asked them is to integrate the API discovery product that they have and push that data into Akamai App and API Protector so that we do not have two types of reviews to identify the type of traffic. We already know the APIs that are frequently getting used, so analysis becomes easier. We can integrate both products and use them.""The performance of the cloud monitoring tool is low.""One area where Akamai can improve is the captcha part. Cloudflare provides a captcha if there are a certain number of threats. For example, I can assign that if there are 10 requests within a second from a single IP, it should send a captcha to the user. The user should fill in the captcha, and only after that, the user should be able to access our website. This captcha feature should be built into Bot Manager. I love this captcha feature of Cloudflare.""The interface is a little bit clunky and can be improved."

"F5 Advanced WAF could improve resource usage, it is CPU intensive. Additionally, adding automated remediation would be a benefit. For example, an easy button alerts us of the events that are occurring, and what we want to do at the time. An automated approach where somebody could be alerted very quickly. Instead of going and reconfiguring everything, an automated approach is what I'm looking at.""The solution should include RASP for another level of protection at the code itself.""I would like for there to be a cloud-based solution, this would also help to improve scalability.""The BNS module needs improvement.""Scalability could be improved.""The interface is old-looking, it's not modern, which is why it's not always comfortable to use.""Compatibility with multiple cloud environments needs improvement. Both stability and scalability need to be improved.""The contextual-based component needs a lot of help to catch up with the next-gen products."
