We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
We do consulting and I get feedback from our clients that the product really helped them with compliance, especially with GDPR.The webpage algorithm is the most valuable feature because it was the fastest feature for searching the logs, events, and correlation. It prevented my users from getting infected by ransomware. It can also pinpoint the story behind every virus or network attack to our environment. It has absolutely improved the efficiency of our security team. We use it internally as well. It is such a powerful tool that our internal security team became a customer of our ArcSight managed service. The tool sends an automated mail to all the operators, which makes it easy to share the information and reporting.Once the rules are defined, it is capable of detecting minute changes in the systems, which are effectively based on the entries in the log.It is a vital tool for live monitoring and helps us to understand the traffic alerts of any major issue on the network, thereby reducing hacking attempts.Once the rules are defined, it becomes easy to detect changes and generate automated logs.

It's quite scalable. We have upgraded some solutions from 1000 APS up to 3500 APS to 5000 APS. It's a good solution, they have no scalability issues. The ability to add extensions is the most valuable feature. For example, extensions that provide valuable test ports.Providing real-time visibility for threat detection and prioritization - QRadar SIEM provides contextual and actionable surveillance across the entire IT infrastructure. It is very stable. We have not faced interruptions in the past four and a half years. It has improved comprehensive visibility for what is going on in the perimeters, and on the inside, as well.It is really helpful to us from the compliance point of view. The initial setup is not complex or difficult.QRadar has somewhat of a new structure recently from last gen. They have moved from the standard UI based infrastructure.

Cons
I would like for them to integrate mobile devices. Integration or any kind of functionality which will act as a substitute for IBM so that we can really track our mobile devices as well as look at SIEM.The security area has room for improvement. The product should include a lot more predefined scenarios so the adopted company will have knowledge and a broader skill set in security and network. The initial setup is very complex. We had to architect a deployment which allowed us to incorporate an ever growing number of customers into our hosted instance of ArcSight.Customer service during the transition from HPE to Micro Focus was abysmal where it became disruptive to our service delivery. The analytics feature is not reliable and needs improvement for more detailed analysis. In certain cases, this product does have false positives, which the company should work on.They should try to include business logic vulnerabilities in the SIEM tool.

I would like for them to develop a detection management solution. It does not have a detecting management solution in it, you have to buy it as it is, on top of the extended solution.Their technical support is not good. We opened a lot of cases and from my experience, they are not complicated issues but it takes forever to get an answer.AI is superb but need improvements.Technical support is good, but not great. The tech support is not that good. The Indian tech support is not helpful. It is not app based. The initial setup was complex, and it took six months.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Thanks to Micro Focus's licensing model, as an MSSP, we are able to see a complete return on our investment almost immediately.Customers without a ton of resources to dedicate to deployment may be better served by a managed ArcSight service. It is best to be an institutional buyer and directly contact the sales team, as they can provide over-the-top discounts for bulk orders.Aggregation can help a lot in pushing down licensing costs.ArcSight is pretty expensive compared with its competitors. I believe that is fine as it provides value.HPE ArcSight pricing might be more expensive than other SIEM solutions, but in my opinion it has powerful features and great flexibility in developing complex use cases.

It is cheaper than ArcSight. The cost of this product is expensive. It is very expensive.A good approach would be to begin with an On Cloud subscription, then later on do a more exact sizing.Pricing and licensing are competitive. Their new licensing options allow logs to bypass the correlation engine for a flat rate, which is also appealing for log data that is compliance-driven for a small amount of money.Pricing (based on EPS) will be more accurate. An X-Force feed is free with QRadar. It is expensive. It is not a product that I can provide for SMBs. It is a program that I can only provide for really large enterprises.
