We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager are password management, session management, onboarding rules, platform customization, and safety management.""The most valuable feature is that it does lifecycle management and that it will change to whatever the end target is.""I have always found that CyberArk is a very tight, foolproof product compared to most other products available.""I like that you can remove the admin rights from the user's computer and have control over the environment. That means you can delete the local admins and grant them proper privileges with the console. So, they will get proper permissions for applications they need, but we don't have to do it. In the domain where we don't have control, the user can only do specified actions, but not all of them.""The most valuable feature of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is its ability to reset passwords every time that it is needed or periodically.""CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager (EPM) 's most valuable feature is its ability to manage user application privileges and protect against ransomware attacks by controlling access to specific files and applications.""The product is very flexible""The solution is scalable."

"The ease of deployment via our RMM tool has been good.""The solution is the cheapest in the market.""Offers network security protection. Management and maintenance of this solution is easy.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The product provides endpoint visibility and portal updates, which are very helpful.""The most valuable feature of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is its efficiency in finding threats, such as viruses and ransomware.""I like that the tool is a bit simple to use. In terms of handling phishing and rate mitigation, it is quite good. The product is stable. I rate it a perfect ten. The solution is scalable. I rate it an eight out of ten, with ten being the highest. The initial setup is straightforward. I have seen a return on investment.""Bitdefender GravityZone Elite is efficient and lightweight. We have to do security audits every year and we saw how secure Bitdefender GravityZone Elite was, even the plan testers had difficulties taking control of a computer when it was protected. The solution was always rejecting the attacks of the test hackers, it has very good protection."

Cons
"It is hard to deal with technical support if you are not certified.""CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is not suitable for the current situation because when you compare it to OTP, OTP is the strongest password solution. You can use it as a one-time password, but you have to log into the password manager itself and if you don't change your password, it will be the weakest link in the security. In OTP, you don't have that weakest link.""Performance could be better. We have a couple of problems with CyberArk right now. One of the problems is performance in our environment. Support also takes a long time to respond. If the user already has local admin rights, then I can't collect any events in the console from this device. There are also some options in CyberArk that are not working properly, and are not helpful in this case. I can't collect any information to create a proper policy for the device. I have to investigate everything manually, or even disable the local admin from the device. I can collect the events only after this, and it's very time consuming. In my case, it's a waste of resources.""It's an old product and has many areas that can be improved.""CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager can be better by making its UI more consistent.""Can be improved by allowing computers to be excluded from policies.""It cannot be on-prem. It is only cloud-based. Sometimes, that's a restriction in terms of usage.""The solution is very expensive."

"The reporting functionality is quite minimal, and there are no alerts available. We are missing email encryption capabilities. We’ve also faced a few minor issues with the solution’s scalability.""Technical support could always be improved.""Its performance can be better. It doesn't work very well for ransomware. That's why we are trying to evaluate other products.""Bitdefender GravityZone Elite could improve by having a patch management function to become part of the solution. For now, it's a separate module subscription. For example, in my company, all the endpoints are sending the information about network attacks and detected malware, to the GravityZone console, and from the console, you can send all these alerts, to another solution, such as Syslog. This is a very important point for us because, this architecture, is similar to having hundreds of threat sensors in the company. The endpoint is a threat sensor and this is very important. From a security perspective, I'm not expecting anything more. However, I'm expecting patch management to become part of GravityZone, and not a separate subscription. This would be a large benefit to us.""The initial setup of Bitdefender GravityZone Elite was a little complex. It's not for the average home user. You need to know what you're doing and understand what you're doing. During the deployment, it took us approximately an hour and a half to understand fully the way we wanted it to be set up, and then from there, it wasn't too bad.""When you have to change some of the settings, the initial setup can become complicated.""Upgrades are heavy and require back up, making you feel like you're doing a fresh installation of this solution. Configuration can also be quite tedious if you want it to be configured based on your needs.""If an enterprise already has existing security features or products, GravityZone Business Security could integrate with them. This will make it a cost-effective solution without replacing their current setup."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "licensing for this solution is based on the number of APV (privileged users), and the number of sessions that you want to record."
  • "I think that it was in the range of $200,000 that had to get approved."
  • "Pricing depends on how many devices you use. Right now, on-premise, it costs us a little, but it's worth it. It seems like the cloud solution is much more expensive. We got this solution one year ago, and it's like we bought the solution, and now they are not going to support it on-premise anymore. We are in the implementation phase, and we missed this, and we already paid for the licenses. This is wasted time from my perspective, and CyberArk should be more customer-friendly."
  • "The cost for CyberArk is very high."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive."
  • "The price of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager is expensive. The solution is priced based on the number of accounts onboarded and the number of concurrent sessions. Everyone else is included in the price, such as support."
