We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"By using Board we can do a lot of free analysis. We can change the layout of a table and even the end-user can change the layout of a table. And in Board 11.2 you can save the layout. That's very useful for the customer, it's a very good function.""The most valuable features are the reporting and the charts. The reporting functionality is handy for aggregation, when it comes to planning. That ability is fascinating and our users are very happy with it. The charts and the reporting allow our users to see all the data and to see how things are going this year or in the COVID situation. They're seeing everything. Instead of having to check data line by line, they're seeing it in a graph and they're seeing it in charts.""It is very easy to use. It has got what they call a toolkit, which is a no-code development environment. You can develop a whole solution with it because it is a complete platform. There is a lot of online material that can be used as a reference. You can help yourself while developing a solution. There are some prebuilt applications in the platform environment. You can very easily customize and integrate these applications. It also has flexible scaling of machine resources, which is really great."

"The integration with R & Python for predictive modeling, and possibly machine learning in the future, is very valuable.""Allowing the users to be able to take snapshots and create their own story without ever leaving the application is a very good feature.""The most valuable feature is the drag-and-drop reporting.""Qlik Sense makes it very easy to build interactive presentations for meetings.""The most valuable feature is the interface for the end-user.""The most valuable feature is the user experience.""The most valuable feature is flexibility.""The associative searching and filtering capability is a unique feature among other BI tools, and one does not need to deeply understand the underlying data."

Cons
"What could be better is the manual... nowadays, most people use a web client, but on the Board manual website, a lot of the information is only about the Windows client. If they could update that, it would be helpful.""Some of our users are still using an MS Office add-in for Excel for certain calculations, and when they export from Board, some of the values, some of the totals and column names, are not coming through into Excel.""It can have more functionality for narrative reporting. They should also improve their training courses, which are currently very lightweight. When you get into more complex things, it is quite difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do, and you have to look at a lot of videos before you actually understand, which is a bit frustrating. Their training can be more comprehensive."

"As we are a very process-oriented company, we would like to see more extensions maintained from Qlik, because it's a huge budget problem to choose the right one.""Some of the charts are still a bit basic and screen rendering on different sized monitors can be an issue.""Report generation without the need for NPrinting, which has limited capabilities anyway, would be an improvement.""It would be nice to have more native features from QlikView built into Qlik Sense.""We want the next version of this solution to be cloud-based so that each user can access it from anywhere in the world with their phone, tablet, or computer without a VPN connection.""I would like to have the ability to better customize the visuals including changing fonts, sizing, colors, axes, and titles.""Performing data transformations required a lot of programming, which is something that should be made easier.""There is an inability to effectively manage (pre)caching (scheduling, assigning for respective user groups, etc), especially without community extensions or uour own development."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"It is not the cheapest product on earth, but you get so much. It provides good value for money."

More Board Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Qlik Sense and its pricing model can follow any scalability.""The license mechanism of Qlik is quite complicated and not exchangeable. Such as 2016, they charge licenses by token, 1500$ for a token / 1 user. 2018: they change to 2 kinds of licenses: professional 1500$ / user, analyzer 800$ / user. 2019: they support subscription with 70$ Monthly for professional, 40$ monthly for analyzers, but for those you’re using perpetual licenses, they don't support acquiring more subscription licenses. The maintenance fee yearly are also high, 20% of the perpetual license.""For on-premise enterprise users, a number of additional features come at a premium cost."
