Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The security is very good.""I'm able to transfer data over internet network security. With the GRE I'm able to transfer data within one bunch to another bunch in a public way, like the internet. The communication is encrypted and is private. It gives me added privacy.""One of the valuable features of the solution is its flexibility and it performs great.""We use Cisco IOS Security mostly for routers to route off the firewall. It's a next-generation device.""The solution is easy to use.""The product has valuable features for business intelligence.""The capabilities for scalability with this product are huge""Cisco IOS Security is a mature product with extensive capabilities, serving as the base for the defense layer. It offers good network visibility, which helps in rapid response through the Rapid Threat Containment feature. Its deployment and configuration are straightforward."

"It's easily scalable.""Splunk is more user-friendly than some competing solutions we tried.""It's straightforward in terms of configuration and troubleshooting and log management and monitoring as well. These are the edge points in addition to it being a modular solution where you can capitalize on your current licenses with extra licensing models, which can match the customer's business requirement and it can help the customer to design or to actually plan for their own roadmap.""The solution is definitely scalable.""This intelligent user behavior analytics package is easy to configure and use while remaining feature filled.""This is a good security product.""The solution is fast, flexible, and easy to use.""Because of some of the visualizations that we utilize, we are able to understand strange, unusual traffic on our networks."

Cons
"With respect to user-friendliness, it is a command-line interface and those with such experience will get along just fine, whereas others may struggle.""Cisco is an expensive firewall, so the pricing can be improved.""I think setup could be one area for improvement, because sometimes we don't have people inside so we have to move to the place.""The user interface needs to be improved.""It would be ideal if the solution had more capacity.""There could be a bit more functions on offer that could make it easier to use.""Signatures and other critical definitions need to be updated more frequently.""Cisco IOS Security could improve its security features. There are competitors that have some additional security features, such as Fortinet FortiGate. Additionally, there should be better synchronization with Cisco IOS Security and other vendors, and improved AI features would be beneficial."

More Cisco IOS Security Cons →

"I'm not aware of any lacking features.""The ability to do more complicated data investigation would be a welcome addition for pros, though the functionality now gives most people what they need.""We'd like the ability to do custom searches.""We want to have an automated system for bot hunting that enables us to detect anomalies predictively based on historical data. It would be helpful if Splunk included process mining as an alternative option. We have a threat workflow, but it would be useful if we could supplement that with some process mining capabilities over time.""They should work to add more built-in correlation searches and more use cases based on worldwide customer experiences. They need more ready-made use cases.""The solution is much more expensive than relative competitors like ArcSight or LogRhythm. It makes it hard to sell to customers sometimes.""The correlation engine should have persistent and definable rules.""I would like improved downward integration with other tools such as McAfee and other GCP solutions."
