We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable thing I have found is the cost saving recommendations""The solution is good for cloud cost management.""The product is easy to use in terms of monitoring all the environments. It works for multiple clouds.""The solution is useful for cloud transparency and visibility in reports and dashboards that I have generated, especially the pre-populated dashboards.""We are able to create an internal price of the product that we can then sell to clients. We get the cost plan at a good discount and then resell it with a mark up to our enterprise-level clients. This flexibility in pricing is one of the solution's best features.""We use dashboards quite heavily, but one of the features that have really stood out is some of the policies we've created to alert us of particular situations.""The pricing is rather competitive right now.""It's stable. For report presentation, it's been fast."

"The most valuable feature is how our metrics interact with each other. You can find what objects are needed and get all of the information about an object: How it works with the storage, CPUs, memory, and you can get an easy way to find the solution during troubleshooting.""The most valuable feature would be the capacity planning. I can see where we're at as far as usage on our data stores, our CPU and memory. It lets us know where we need to grow.""Scalability is relatively simple. You just spin up a new appliance and you either add it to an existing vROps manager or you can create a new environment. You can forward statistics. If I have multiple data centers, I can spin up remote nodes and send our information back to our primary one.""It gives me more insight on issues like: Do we need to add more hardware to the clusters; when disks are low, to add more disk space. It's a preventive type of maintenance.""The last two versions of it, we've gone with the integrated, high-availability built into the product, and that was a welcome change for us. It's even better now not having to have any kind of load-balancer in front of it...""I can go back a little bit, a week or a month, look at the history, to troubleshoot.""vROps is more user-friendly than some other products that we've seen on the market. It was very easy for our technicians to pick up. The search functionality works well. It makes it easy for our technicians to get down to a workload that they're possibly having an issue with.""There's a feature known as Smart Alerts in vRealize Operations, which I have found to be useful if there's anything going wrong in the infrastructure. What usually happens is that you get so many alerts that you become confused. Smart Alerts give you visibility into your infrastructure and also recommend how to fix the situation. That's a feature which I'm really a fan of."

Cons
"I would like to see better integration from CloudHealth to create easier setup and implementation.""CloudHealth needs to start building out Turbonomics-types of features that help the customers who are using CloudHealth really understand everything down to the server level, the virtual machine level.""The solution doesn't offer the best functionality, unfortunately. Some features just simply aren't on offer. The solution needs to offer more product milestones.""It would be helpful to have a mobile version or a tablet version, especially for people who are outside of the office.""If you are working with the OS you need help and other connectors to get more information.""They should provide information or tools to tune the cloud resources according to the environment size.""The Perspectives feature could be better.""The export features regarding CSV files and specifically around identifying savings plans have room for improvement, as well as the drill-down features for reservation utilization."

More VMware Aria Cost powered by CloudHealth Cons →

"The automation piece could be done simpler.""It's a little bit scattered. I have to go through a lot of steps to get everything in one place. I would like it that if you click on one cluster, you get all the information from the host, VMs, whatever is there. Sometimes I have to go to different places to get the information.""The biggest room for improvement would be the customizability of the alerting function. The emails that come through are somewhat difficult to tailor along with the information contained within them and how they are laid out.""The solution could improve by having more APIs, customized alerts, and documentation.""While the initial setup was somewhat straightforward, there is some complexity. Going forward, I would like there to be more clarity in the process. Because to complete the setup process, our team had to open up a case with the technical support, and they had to guide us through the process.""It would be good to have more detailed reports and more details on the dashboard.""Your range of use will be restricted by the license level you have chosen.""There is room for improvement in asset management and resource usage."

  • "I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
