We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The EDR and the way it automatically responds to ransomware and other attacks are valuable features.""We can automate routine tasks and write scripts to carry out difficult tasks, which makes things easier for us.""The best feature is threat hunting. There are a lot of other features I like, such as the alert mechanism. The chain alert mechanism has a huge impact. It combines all the alerts into one incident and automatically correlates them with AI.""Microsoft Defender's most critical component is its CASB solution. It has many built-in policies that can improve your organization's cloud security posture. It's effective regardless of where your users are, which is critical because most users are working from home. It's cloud-based, so nothing is on-premise.""The visibility into threats is also very impressive because Microsoft helps you predict things and provides analytics to help you really improve your security. And all of this technology works across the domain, so it is pretty helpful in terms of threat analytics.""The integration between all the Defender products is the most valuable feature.""The integration, visibility, vulnerability management, and device identification are valuable.""Among the most valuable features are the alert timeline, the alert story, which is pretty detailed. It gives us complete insight into what exactly happened on the endpoint. It doesn't just say, "Malware detected." It tells us what caused that malware to be detected and how it was detected. It gives us a complete timeline from beginning to end."

"The solution has an investigation feature, which is useful for building storylines.""Cybereason XDR's most useful feature is the investigation."

More Cybereason XDR Pros →

"We had previously deployed on-premises, and all we had to do was access the designated console and click a button to migrate all on-premises agents to cloud agents.""I like Vision One's observed attack techniques feature. It lets you see what an attacker is doing, how they have tried to exploit a machine, or how malicious code is operating. It helps us discover indicators of compromise so we can write better rules for detection.""It helps us with investigations.""I appreciate the value of real-time activity monitoring.""Trend Micro XDR is stable, scalable, and reasonably priced.""Drilling down further, we can analyze how our users are utilizing their workstations, including the websites they visit.""The search features help us try to correlate information and identify any suspicious activity.""One of the features I like in Trend Micro XDR is that you can drill down on the root-cause analysis for anything you find on the solution. I also like that it works for detection purposes. Behavior analytics is also what I like most about Trend Micro XDR. I love that it has features such as behavior detection, program detection, and memory scanning. By default, the solution protects against spyware, apart from the normal virus scan. Smart Scan and DLP are also available in Trend Micro XDR which I like as well."

Cons
"The management features could be improved, particularly in terms of better integration with Intune, Microsoft's cloud-based management solution.""The documentation on their website is somewhat outdated and doesn't show properly. I wanted to try a query in Microsoft Defender 365. When I opened the related documentation from the security blog on the Microsoft website, the figures were not showing. It was difficult to understand the article without having the figures. The figures were there in the article, but they were not getting loaded, which made the article obsolete.""Generally, antivirus products provide a central control to manage every device in terms of who is installing it or who is trying to disable it, but Microsoft doesn't have such a control center for the antivirus product it provides.""Advanced attacks could use an improvement.""Customers say they want absolutely seamless integration between other Microsoft solutions and Defender XDR, including the ability to change device settings within the Defender portal. They need to contact the IT team responsible for the device management tools to change some settings. They would prefer that those changes be initiated directly from the Defender portal or applied from Intune without involving the IT operations team.""From an integration standpoint, it is always improving overall. With Security Copilot coming out, as partners, we are waiting for the GDAP support so that we can actually see Security Copilot on behalf of customers if they subscribe to it.""Offboarding latency should be reduced. Even after a device has been successfully offboarded using a particular offboarding script, it still shows up as onboarded.""Microsoft tends to provide too many features, which makes the solution prone to bugs."

"The one thing we sometimes have issues with is its integration with other security applications like antiviruses.""Cybereason's customer support could be better."

More Cybereason XDR Cons →

"We do use the automation capability a little. However, we noticed some limitations, especially on the playbook side.""They have a DLP module in Tredn Moicros and they need to enhance its capabilities.""In new versions I would like to see better implementation of the reporting features, especially in regards to EDR visibility.""Having more variables within the playbook would be useful. It would allow us to have more refined playbooks for the business. It would allow us to take stronger action through a playbook. It will give us confidence to target a particular area of business where our risk tolerance might be higher or lower. We would like to have more granular playbooks.""The information captured by Trend Vision One needs to be more detailed.""The solution lacks compatibility with other products. It needs to integrate better with other surrounding solutions.""It would be ideal if they could improve the control of connectivity between sensors.""The area for improvement is mobile security. We have just finished a proof of concept for Zero Trust Secure Access. We withdrew from this PoC because it does not have that many points for proxy across Europe. Our organization is across Europe... At this time, they are only located in Germany and the UK."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."
  • More Microsoft Defender XDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The solution is cheaper than Microsoft Defender. It has a subscription and no standard license."
  • More Cybereason XDR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It is costly. It is not that affordable for a small organization. Only big organizations can afford it. It is a new feature that has been added, so its price is fair. Its licensing is probably subscription-based. It is for one or two years."
  • "It would be nice if it was a little bit cheaper, but I think it has a fair price. It is comparable to others in the market."
  • "The price is reasonable. It's not exorbitant. CrowdStrike and other players are on the higher side."
  • "We have an annual subscription and I believe there is no option for monthly billing at the moment."
  • "Trend Micro XDR is expensive, and you have to pay for it yearly."
  • "Trend Micro XDR has a good price, and on a scale of one to five, I would rate it a four out of five in terms of price."
  • "From a pricing standpoint, they're a really good negotiator and they'll work with you."
  • "It's relatively well-priced."
