We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like how Microsoft XDR and the other Microsoft products are integrated into a single unified security stack covering identity access management, endpoint protection, email, cloud applications, etc.""We are able to consolidate licences and make use of many Microsoft products using this solution. If we have any Microsoft customers, we encourage them to use this solution for enterprise defence.""I like the easy integration and advanced possibilities. We can implement it at customer sites in a few clicks, but we can also dive deep and drill down to extended features. There's a very good starting point to get into this product and all the features from Defender.""The incident threat response and its ability to facilitate effective remediation against threats are the standout features.""The integration between all the Defender products is the most valuable feature.""The advantage of Microsoft Defender XDR has over other XDRs in the market is that it's easy to use. You can quickly differentiate between alerts, incidents, devices, software, etc. It's easier to investigate an incident, and you have so many options. You can automate investigations and use playbooks. There's also the live response session, which is something you can't find in any other XDR.""The EDR features are valuable. By getting the EDR features, we have more control over the device. We have information about events in real-time and more protection against zero-day threats and zero-day vulnerabilities. We can monitor every event or action that a device is going through. We can get an idea if it is something malicious or if we have to take any actions.""The visibility into threats that 365 Defender provides is really good. You get a full review of your security system and what can be improved. In the Microsoft 365 Defender portal the first page gives you a really big summary of which security policies you are following and what can be improved."

"I like that it is possible to use the solution to check more information about the users' devices.""The most valuable feature is the monitored support behind it.""Its ability to revert back from a previous state is quite notable. This feature is particularly valuable because, for maintaining integrity, it can inspect the socket for any firewall modifications. In practice, it allows us to return to a previous configuration when everything was functioning correctly.""Cynet is light and transparent when downloaded. The product's data aggregation is also valuable since you can see everything you need on a page.""The dashboard is beautiful, overall easy of use, and the UBA and NBA features are valued.""Advanced detection and protection against ransomware paired with SOC monitoring are the most valuable features. They have 24/7 SOC monitoring and file activity. It is a very robust tool.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the network part of it because most of the endpoint products in XDS products we find Cynet has networking user behavior analysis and network analysis, for the whole team.""The feature that I have found most valuable is that the configuration and the usage of the product are not so complicated. For people responsible for using this infrastructure for the first line of workstation monitoring, it's quite easy to use."

"The setup is fairly simple.""The search features help us try to correlate information and identify any suspicious activity.""I'm satisfied with the level of coverage. The policies have been very useful and detailed.""I like the workbench. It is a view of all the alerts or problems in your estate. The visibility that it provides to engineers is very useful. It is one thing having lots of alerts. It is another thing to have something to correlate all your alerts into a workbench for you so that you can see what is going on.""It has good vulnerability protection.""What I like the most about Trend Micro XDR is that the detection and response domain extends to the network. It goes beyond the endpoint and includes data about the network which lets you pinpoint patient zero as well as the root cause of the attack.""XDR provided a much more deep view into what is actually happening.""The most valuable feature is the network protection shield on every server, which isolates attacks and prevents our clients from being affected."

Cons
"Intrusion detection and prevention would be great to have with 365 Defender.""In the future, it would be beneficial for Microsoft to consider making the product more user-friendly or simplified for those who are interested in using it. Currently, it requires a high level of technical expertise, making it challenging for beginners or less experienced individuals.""The design of the user interface could use some work. Sometimes it's hard to find the exact information you need.""I would like more of the features in Defender for 365 to be included in the smaller licenses. Even if I buy a small license and don't need everything, security shouldn't be a question. Security is one of the main aspects of all projects from our side, so it would be nice to have more features in the smaller licenses.""Customers say they want absolutely seamless integration between other Microsoft solutions and Defender XDR, including the ability to change device settings within the Defender portal. They need to contact the IT team responsible for the device management tools to change some settings. They would prefer that those changes be initiated directly from the Defender portal or applied from Intune without involving the IT operations team.""The data recovery and backup could be improved.""There are a few technical issues with Defender XDR that can be improved. Sometimes, the endpoint devices are not reporting properly to the Defender 365 portal. When you're getting all the information from the Microsoft portal, the devices are sometimes not in sync. We have hundreds of endpoint devices, some needing to be onboarded again.""My client would like the solution to be more customizable without using code. You can only build on the default console, but we're not allowed to change it."

More Microsoft Defender XDR Cons →

"SIEM - Although with their Centralised Log Management Cynet has created the basis for SIEM functionality, this is to be expanded in the near future.""I'd like to see more data loss prevention within the product.""Automation could be improved, and orchestration could be added to the features.""Increased application for SOAR abilities across interconnected devices would be a welcome improvement.""One thing to note is that I highly recommend adding a deep learning-based prevention environment as an additional layer to Cynet. However, I always advise my customers to start with Cynet or XDR, for example, and then focus on the people, technology, and processes involved. This is the best approach to ensure that you are not breached with ransomware. While Cynet can prevent most attacks, there have been cases where ransomware has been quicker than Cynet's detection capabilities. In these situations, an additional tool is necessary to ensure complete protection, and that is what I sell as well.""There are some shortcomings in Cynet's integration capabilities that need improvement.""They have automated response capability, and they're moving more and more into SOAR capability. They have built-in deception technology with host-file users, phantoms, etc. We used to call them honeypots. So, they're on target. They're doing a really good job, and they should continue to improve with SOAR.""Cynet fails to deploy the same technology in mobile devices."

More Cynet Cons →

"We do use the automation capability a little. However, we noticed some limitations, especially on the playbook side.""Trend Micro doesn't have the next-generation firewall.""We'd like to see a few more integrations.""When you deploy these tools from Trend Micro, the integration and getting them to work together, are among the more difficult pieces of the puzzle. But when you get that set up and working, you're glad you did.""The zero trust is a bit complicated compared to other parts of the solution.""A room for improvement is Trend Micro XDR's website. It's a very complicated website since finding the right point one wants to see is difficult.""While blocking an IP address restricts access for 30 days, it eventually becomes accessible again.""The support documentation could be more comprehensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."

  • "Everything is included in this one solution and the pricing is pretty competitive."

  • "The price should not be less than $100 which is quite reasonable for this solution because you are getting multiple components."

  • "Pricing wise, Cynet seems to be very competitive. The cost is probably lower than that offered by many of its competitors for all the functions and features it offers."
  • "The pricing was good."
