We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Everything is simple and useful. The initial setup is not challenging.""The most valuable feature is auto-scaling.""One of GCE's best features is the managed instance groups.""The solution helps to direct SSH into the machine at the click of a button. It also helps to deploy container images right from the UI. There is no need to manage the containers on the machine. I also like the tool’s Spot provision model.""Google is managing all hardware. You don't need to provision or pre-provision your computer engine.""The initial setup is reasonably straightforward. It's a handful of networks and a handful of computers.""The main motive for choosing Google Compute Engine is pricing.""From a feature perspective, I find API integration, automation capabilities, and features like preemptive and Spot instances valuable. Migration tools have also been useful."

"As a business technology platform, it is a flexible platform. It enables the customer to do faster integrations, and the solution's functioning requires low cost.""The product is very user-friendly.""With the tool, there is no shutdown or breakdown time my company experiences.""The most valuable aspect is that it is easy to use the software.""I believe the solution is very stable.""Technical support from SAP is great.""It is very flexible...It is a stable solution.""The initial setup is manageable."

Cons
"The biggest problem is that it's got a very archaean and complex security environment that has to be very carefully set up and is easy to break.""Google Compute Engine needs to have multi-region support. It would also be nice to have a tracking mechanism.""It is not very user-friendly for non-experienced users""I would like to improve the solution’s UI while deploying a container. It is sometimes hard to figure out the container’s details and format that you want to deploy. The tool does not give you a guide to find out the error and why the container is not starting up which could be because you have configured it wrong. This is always a hit on the setup.""I rate the product's stability around five to six out of ten.""It would be better if there was an option to change the background. Like in Gmail, there's an option to change your theme.""Google Compute Engine does not have many options at a lower tier level. If they had more options it will be better. For example, Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure, have more options and different types of instances, of VMs we can select.""It has some limitations. For example, you don't get through layer two connectivity. So I've had some difficulty deploying custom VMs. For example, you can't deploy a KVM file to file directly on GCP."

"I would like SAP to replace Business One's fixed Web client with a native Web solution. Right now, their remote access is based on RVP. We have to access the solution through a Windows-based client. It's not a native Web interface.""It would be better if the solution was on a cloud infrastructure.""There are limitations of SAP Business One. It's a complex topic, and exploring options like SAP HANA is challenging at the moment. Understanding the limitations of ERP requires thorough research. I suggest conducting some preliminary investigations into ERP products before making a decision. We chose SAP Business One as it caters to SMEs like ours, acknowledging and accepting its limitations. While a larger product exists, switching would entail budget considerations due to the ongoing implementations. Therefore, the current situation with SAP Business One is not a matter of concern.""Not a ten because it's not software for a structured company or something very big. That is my impression.""The tool's cost is an area of concern where improvements are required.""There is some room for improvement with the scalability and the pricing of the product.""There is a need to make multiple changes in the code to make a few changes in any module of the product.""The browser access needs to improve, as everybody in the industry knows how limited it is."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It's $60,000 to $70,000 a month to replace about $10,000 a month in data center costs."
  • "Google Compute Engine is not the least expensive solution. Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft One, are offering a less expensive solution. The price is based on usage. Whenever we use it, we have to pay for only usage. It is a pay-as-you-go model."
  • "Google Compute Engine's pricing is flexible and the best of all other alternatives."
  • "In terms of improvement, one is definitely the licensing piece. So there is a feature, the BYOL (Bring Your Own License) licensing piece, to bring your own license. It is not that straightforward. It requires some support from Google to get it sorted, access those licenses, and configure those licenses."
  • "I rate GCE's pricing a five out of ten since it's affordable."
  • "Google is providing money for learning Google Compute Engine. They offer a $300 free trial to new customers. Any beginner can easily get started."

  • "The price of SAP Business One on AWS could be lower, it is expensive."
  • "The price of SAP Business One on AWS is reasonable for what we use it for."
  • "We have an annual cost for licensing and storage in AWS."
  • "Pricing for me, it's not very interesting. I think it's priced at a normal level."
  • "There is an annual licensing fee, and it changes once you add or remove users. The solution is on the upper-end side and expensive."
  • "On average, the licensing costs can be around 50,000 USD. Pricing of the product has certain variables, including the number of licenses and the implementation costs."
