We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience.""IFS has been completely rebuilt, modernized, and cloud-based so we don't need bulky software installations.""IFS Applications is an all-in-one solution for finance, accounting, and production.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly.""The solution overall is very versatile and flexible, especially compared to other products.""What I like about IFS Applications is that it's easier to use and implement than SAP. I also like that the IFS Applications team is more flexible than the SAP team.""All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product.""The main reason for the ERP project was to bring together our fourteen sites, which had until then worked in separate silos."

Cons
"IFS Applications is not robust enough to handle high-volume transactions, so it's not suitable for larger enterprises.""We would like to see AI-driven CSI functions built into the tool that would allow us to quickly tie our improvement goals to metrics and activities, so Assyst will suggest the next steps to help us get closer to our goals.""I have seen that one of the areas that my company has identified for improvement might be the rental management capabilities within the solution.""Customization needs to be improved.""The solution's initial setup process was complex...The technical support my company receives from the implementation partners of the solution is not that great.""The solution needs to improve its documentation and user-friendliness.""An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex.""There should be some improvements in the predefined templates in IFS Applications."

"Infor's support side is not that good, and they seem to be focusing on other products above LX.""It lacks in finance and administration, especially related to Italian accounting.""It's based on AS/400 or Power i, a robust technology and platform. However, it is harder to manage admin most of the time.""The connectors, performance, and knowledgebase availability can be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."

  • "Infor LX is not cheap but much cheaper compared to SAP HANA."
  • "Our last maintenance fee was around $15,000 a year for 33 current users."
